You asked for more Operation Unthinkable so here we continue that series. So I built up this huge playground, where Western Allies and Soviet gonna imitate Kursk 2.0, the biggest tank battle. Because of its massive scale, I had to split American and British troops, so you see an epic montage, them fighting against Soviets in two different sessions, yet against the same enemy forces. Since I tried to keep it fairly realistic for an alternative history scenario, as I gave Allies and Soviets very limited amount new prototype tanks, like the T-95, IS-3.
As of result, we should be able to speculate, which side would likely be a winner of this hypothetical war in real life.

What do you think of idea making a huge battle between US/UK and Soviet heavy tanks only, including numerous not few prototype tanks? (T-95, IS-3, Super Pershing, Tortoise tanks etc.)

I would prefer a slighty different battle with all tanks: One tank for every tank type e.g: 1 T-26, 1 BT-5, 1 BT-7...... (and so on) vs 1 Tetrach, 1 Valentine, 1 Crusader..... (and so on).

cccpterminator the 17 Pounder manage to destroy Panther Tanks. Panzer Commander usually order their units to destroy "Long Barreled" first because of how devastating the Firefly is

@@outoftime7127 well the 17-pounders weren't able to destroy Jagpanthers and Tigers 2. but it was perfect handling medium tanks like Panthers, Panzer IV, and Tiger I. Also, 122 and 152MM guns of the Red Army were the best anti-tank guns.

I'm not surprised the Russians won. Russia sacrificed Crew comfort and crew safety for robust durability and reliability over the crew. In addition Soviet forces learned to build better tanks before the allies did. Nazi Germany only picked up the thinking after they learned the 88mm was bouncing off crappy T-34s. Allied tanks did not improve in protection or killing capacity until well after the second half of Vietnam; by then Soviet tanks were already using NBC protection and advanced optics and some additional crew protection post Stalin.

A few years after WW 2, India and Pakistan fought eachother. India used sherman 17 pounders, Pakistan used t34-85. Both could kill eachother in one shot. Shermans hit more often at first shot so they won most battles. So yeah, british could win.

not only that, the soviet force was made out by kv1's and IS-1's

British got better AT guns (17pdr, 6pdr) which were much better at fighting tanks, but were worse vs infantry/fortifications. Also, British tanks were quite good protected (Cromwell VIII had around 102mm of armour, Cromwells V - 80-ish). Not to mention Churchills with 152mm of armour (but gun sucks). US 76s had worse AT performance and 90mm was just slightly better than 17pdr (and only a few tanks had 90mm guns when the British was putting 17pdr everywhere they could). In a fight with the Soviets, who were quite heavy armoured, the British would do better in this case of scenario than US guns.

@@dashkin3727 yes but the soviets had very good AT guns too, that were also brutally effective against whatever thing the british could field at the time, that scenario is simply not plausible since the soviets were using old KV tanks and the british were using much more modern designs to fight them

@@dashkin3727 Sherman 76's fought and stomped Soviet T-34-85s in Korea. During the war the Brits used more American tanks than domestic tanks, and the only tanks of theirs clearly better than the Sherman were the Comet and Centurian, which both didn't see combat till the last weeks of the war and had only a few in service prior to the end of the war. Also, the Lend lease Shermans sent to Russia were very popular and considered every bit the equal of their own T-34's,
