Well murder, demons, and cannibalism and stuff are usually common-ish topics in a dark humor/horror game. But most games don't dare cross the line of incest, which makes it a widely debated topic. I can name like 3 other games with murder off the top of my head, but incest... nah

The discussion should be more about what made them become like that instead of just pinpointing specific uncomfortable things like incest and trying to cancel the author for it. And as the characters are guilty of a lot of things, there can be different punishments for each crimes but it doesn't make incest worse or better than any of the crimes they did, there has to be some equality here.

The only few good things about Mr & Ms Graves were that they didn't divorce, the husband might have committed suicide due to financial problems but decided not to, and they probably had strong sex drive, and they were the reason why we are here, for Andrew and Ashley, and their messed up adventures.

Yeah like, I can't deny Ashley has 100% become a "Tar Soul", but if you find the demon in the bad ending dream, he has several souls with him, including one "incomplete tar soul", which has been speculated as the mother (as it's described as an evil soul that didn't quite go as far as it could've). Which imo, lines up with someone who gets teen pregnant and then goes "oh, this kid barely does anything, this parenting shit is easy" and then gets teen pregnant _again_, but has to deal with an average child and then dumps all the responsibility on the first one (who is only two years older, fuckin' yikes). Like, you have one accident at a young age and keep it, have a sobering moment and try your best even if you kinda fuck up, I get it, I have sympathy. But even is Ashley is old enough that she's to blame for her own choices, all of the early stuff that led her to that? Totally on the mother. You kinda see the conniving bitch side in the sane (and not) endings, so while I feel like Ashley's tar soul was definitely more nurture than nature, you can see where she learned her tactics from...

She was not disappointed but awkward and surprised, and since her brother saw that too she was concerned what Andrew would think, Andrew should be the one feeling disappointed and disgusted, but this chapter proved he actually had forbidden feelings for his sister, he tried to keep it in his pants as best as he could for the sake of being a brother, even finding a gf as a replacement. They barely thought about getting laid with each other seriously tho, Ashley might be doing that eventually but she sure was not ready to see that vision, just like her brother.

It can be that each soul has its own taste or quality, in chapter 1 it was revealed that Ashley's soul is a pitch black mess so maybe the demon couldn't consume that, or basically just keep her around to get more souls easily.

Considering it happens in real life too, it will probably come down to no "true" ending in the end with only two "good" endings later depicting both sides. Like one of those 'the true ending is what you like the most', kind of thing.

Bruh you literally missed that part which Andrew asked his sis that if they were like that or not, and only if you choose "never say never" will they actually get along better, if you choose the second option then their relationship will revert back to sane outcome. I think its not that "at that point" there is no other option, but rather that it seems from the start there is no other option. The only thing that makes Ashley actually calm the fuck down is if Andrew just lets go of everything and reciprocates her obsession to the point THAT ending takes place. You can literally just skip every single fucked up thing they did if he felt that way from the start, but you know that's not the case. Honestly that's kinda what I find fucked up, because I feel like the writing is just nudging them towards that route, all the way sprinkled with shock value scenes I'd have written at 13 years old when I felt "dark and edgy".

Of course the method is irrelevant, the character of Ashley is a complete psychopath that doesn't think in the same way as the a normal human would. It's not even about abandonment issues necessarily. It's about having complete control over someone through whatever means necessary. She knew from childhood that she was too broken to operate within the rules of society, so she could never get the foot in the door to gain the power she needed. Her brother was the only person with which she had an 'in', but he was at least normal enough to fit in, so she had to figure out how to keep him under control. She has to make him as broken as she is, so he can't fit in and move outside of her control. That's why she manipulates him into doing fucked up actions, then tells him shit like, "you did it, not me". She does that to make him believe he is too broken to live without her. The writing is strange, it feels childish/immature in a lot of the writing that isn't character dialogue, but at the same time portrays psychopathy and manipulation so well, that you'd think the writer has a good amount of psychology knowledge and/or some lived experience with this type of person. What I mean is it feels like the writer is both 15 and 35 at the same time.

Yeah, I've seen speculation that Andrew seeing his father and his passivity, especially towards his mother, and it sorta gave him a shock (which direction he was shocked into depends on your choice of ending). The "bad" ending, it's clear that he's sick of Ashley's shit (and I'll admit, seeing "I said pick them up, you dumb bitch." caught me off guard) and even if he's giving her the reigns for now since he knows she'll do what she wants anyway, I can only imagine he 180's on that after a bit more time to stew on it. And he's certainly just seen that Ashley tends to be a lot more bark than bite, and that he's capable of getting scary when he lets go. And even though all routes show him starting to lean into the evil deeds (and subsequently Ashley not being so fond of him getting used to it once he finally does) she definitely seems the most freaked out in the "bad" ending since he seems to have gone full nihilist. It's also an interesting divergence that he's willing to do the cannibal thing in the "good" path, whereas he sticks to his guns on it being disgusting in the "bad" one. Not to mention, that point is the nicest he is to Ashley on that route....

The bad endings are definitely the most interesting ones for me, because it shows andrew and ashley's dynamic changing, this was the focus of this whole chapter, and it has left me feeling conflicted as fuck.

He probably knew what he gonna witness. We all should pray for the young, innocent and unsupervised kids who accidentally got exposed to the contents of this game.

They didn't "kill" the parents, they both agreed to sacrifice their parents to the demon and then destroyed the parents bodies, which is uncomfortable, but Andrew agreed to do it not only because his sister wanted so, but also because he realized his parents were full of crap and they deserved it. And as his relationship with Ashley changes depending on each route, he either accepts that his life is beyond salvation in sane and incest route, or he grows sick and tired of Ashley's whining, he grows independent gradually but becomes more hostile or immune and understanding the situation with his life and his sister.

Also the combination of heart, broken heart and sunshine to get the two doors is different. Sane is sunshine on the left painting, broken heart on ashley in the right painting and heart above andrew and the other girl, while incest is heart on the left painting above andrew and ashley, sunshine above ashley in the right painting and broken heart between andrew and the other girl.

People have been theorizing that Andrew learnt to accept and open himself more in burial route, he realized after he and his sister "died", there was nobody looking for them, nobody had any intention of welcoming them back, even the parents, some even wanted them dead like the hitman, so they just have each other and have to tolerate each other's quirks to move on with their new life. Andrew accepted that his life sucks and he doesn't have to try fitting in society anymore, cuz after all it seems only Ashley is capable enough to company him around in the long run, or it can be his forbidden feelings for her that always take him back to Ashley eventually, which "that" scene brought it all out, though it sucks that it's true, but what's more important here is when Ashley teased him by saying "never say never", it made him feel uncomfortable, but relieved that he could share these thoughts with his sister and both of them could talk it out more serious in the future to either avoid it or... Just go with it. But as Andrew made peace with his mind and feelings, he might no longer depend on Ashley to have good sleep and stay sane, him being more independent made Ashley worry about her control towards Andrew, fearing that he may not need her anymore and leave her in the future, which probably a lil too unrealistic to think of cuz Andrew doesn't have that plan at all, but we may see it coming eventually.

Also are the dialogue any different if you accepted the parents’ offer? Or will Andrew just thinks it over and declines?

It's a bit different if you let Andrew accept his parents offer, i did that in my playthrough video so you can check it yourself. But to sum it up, Andrew wanted to take the offer but he couldn't, he couldn't trust his parents enough but at the same time being stuck with Ashley wasn't a better choice as well, i guess he still chose Ashley for the sake of covering up their crimes, but Andrew still lingered his past life and wanted to go back somehow, he couldn't anyway cuz he's stuck with Ashley now, and already promised so in chapter 1. But as Ashley breaking some promises still bothering him, especially not calling him Andy anymore, he got annoyed and frustrated to the point of losing it, which ended up leading to decay route.

To be fair, in all route variations, it's just different divergent paths of Andrew. As much as Ashley prefers to think otherwise (and how much chapter 1 still haunts him despite trying to symbolically distance himself from it), Andy is dead. Even "that" ending is still him wanting to be Andrew, because that version of him is the one that makes choices, rather than following whatever his younger sister says because he won't stand up for himself. How Andrew differs based on the small changes is more interesting than dividing it as Andrew and Andy, imo. The core person is still there, but you can really see the gears turning in his head and how he ends up at each version of himself.

The demon marked him to find him easier later, just like how it finds Ashley by the trinket, this can imply that Andrew may have summoning power in the future.

There's a slight change in dialog at the summoning depending on whether you're on the "good" (either sane or.... the other one) or "bad" route. The demon disregards Andrew in the "bad" route, but mentions that he'll be seeing _both_ of them again in the "good" route, likely being shown through how Andrew is leaning into the dark side (and the demon-related things in particular). That said, it could be less of his explicit interest in that route as much as him going full nihilist in the "bad" route, where it seems like whether he takes Ashley with him or not, he's likely to end up dead, so the demon might not want to waste time on someone who won't be around long enough to be useful.
