Hello everyone, in this opportunity we decided to show you all our experience and knowledge for those who want to make themselves or are thinking of having a pop up camper.
Our camper was made entirely by us, from the structure, which was made with the following materials:
30x30x1.6 spout
Pipe 70x30x1.6 and 50x30x1.6 at the base (Floor)
70x30x1.6 crossbar pipe to support the craw of the bed
30x30x1.6 pipe on the roof, which We recommend replacing the perimeter with a 60x30x1.6 pipe to prevent the roof from sagging when it is raised.
Walls and ceiling:
On the outside it is covered in 25-gauge prepainted sheet metal, followed by 20mm of Styrofoam plus 10mm of insulating foam with aluminum, and the interior lining is melamine on the walls and dovetailing on the ceiling.
The hinges:
1"x1.6mm thick round pipe
The roof and camper hinges are made from 1 1/4" x 3/16" thick angle iron with a 10mm diameter hole to make the axle.
The central axis is a 10mm diameter 8.8 steel bolt with a self-braking nut, plus a pressure bearing to reduce friction.
Canvas:
Double tarpaulin for truck completely glued with PVC glue
5mm insulation foam
In the windows we have a closure in the same canvas with insulation, plus a fixed mosquito net, plus an acrylic inside with a hook closure.
Roof outside:
60mm x 80mm skirt with 25 gauge prepainted sheet metal brim
wire fasteners to fix the roof in travel.
all waterproofed with 3 hands of liquid membrane.
