Watching this as a kid, I was so absorb into the magical girl concept that it flew over my head that one of the girls is named mewmew lettuce. Lettuce.

I feel so much nostalgia watching this. Tokyo mew mew was the first anime I watched and the reason I even got into anime in the first place. This show will forever hold a special place in my heart

Ichigo is my favorite character but,,, oh man I think Lettuce nailed it! She is the coolest and cutest of all in my opinion! Her transformation is the best! These sounds and her clapping at the end give me the chills everytime!

The attack itself is named "Zakuro Spear" in think somewhere in the anime the weapon is reffered to as ZaCross Whip

I problem I always had with this show was that the other girls didn't have multiple attacks themselves. Or at the very least, didn't use their attacks differently

Pudding has fingerless gloves. Zakuro has wrist bands. Lettuce has no gloves/wrist band. Minto has clean cuffs. Ichigo sharp cuffs.

Fun fact: theres 2 variations of Mew Mint's transformation sfx, the first in ep 2 and the second that is used in general and in this video. I like the 1st version better Oh and Mew pudding 's transformation also has 2 sound track variations

Basically each of these girls are given the dna of certain endangered animals which gives them the ability to fight off aliens and purify the earth. If I go into it more there would be spoilers. Oh if you watch the op at the beginning there’s a little plot narration there to.

mint is a blue lorikeet (bird) and lettuce is a finless porpoise (kinda like a dolphin) :)
