I dunno if its intentional or the lighting of the scene, but I love that Snape's killing curse has a blue tint to it, rather than green, suggesting its not meant in malice, but in request from Dumbledore, like an acceptance.

Lucious also attempted to use it on Harry in the Chamber of Secrets but Dobby stopped before he could finish the spell. Kinda crazy looking back that he was about to murder a 2nd year student right outside Dumbledores office because he lost his servant lol

I've only ever read the 1st book as a kid, did Lucius actually try to kill Harry in the 2nd book as well? I always found that scene in the movie such an overreaction. If Dobby didn't stop Lucius, he would've spent the rest of his life in Azkaban lol

@@kablard I haven’t read the books in so long that I forgot myself. I do know that the actor who played Lucius actually couldn’t remember his lines for this scene and so he improvised the avada kardava because he had read it in the book. They liked the improve so much that they left it in there. He probably never tried to kill him in the books but that was such a good scene I can see why they decided to keep it in there.

LoL. Well, Theres non-verbal spells. I guess it’s safe to assume that it’s all about inner intentions when casting. The verbal flare is about putting emotions into being, something like that. I guess it makes it easier for beginners. I suppose forbidden spells are harder to use non verbal.

I find it interesting that most people killed were dead before they hit the ground, but Sirius was able to push out one last sigh before he passed through the veil. I get that it was probably a creative choice made by the director to give the moment some more weight, but it seems a little odd.

In the book, Bellatrix didn’t send a killing curse at him, as it was described as a jet of RED light, however it was a curse strong enough to make him fall, and as they were fighting right next to the veil, he unfortunately fell through the veil.

I can’t imagine how absolutely mentally ruined Snape was in the time following his murder of Dumbledore, because consider it: He knew this had to happen, he knew exactly why he was supposed to do it, and to one of his best friends and closest colleagues, and knew the consequences should he fail. Yet in lore, the Killing Curse is actually pretty hard to cast properly, as it requires you to fully mean it - meaning Snape had to feel both immense remorse and the clear intention to do it, at the same exact time.

He forced himself to mean it by telling himself it’s time to hate Dumbledore for putting him in that position. He probably thought about Dumbledore’s failure to protect Lily, his arrogance as a reputable wizard, his choice in wool socks. There’s so much fuel Snape can use to hate Dumbledore enough to cast Avada Kedavra properly

Great piece of acting from dumbledore: simply saying please whilst acting as if he’s pleading for his life spared and for his life to be taken. It takes great direction and screenwriting to omit the right things. I’ve seen simple omission and this is far deeper. You’re just too dense to appreciate it

In the movie it makes no sense bc U would be dead in an instant if U were hit by the curse. In the books Bellatrix uses stupor and Sirius stumbles into the veil. That's why he was still conscious.

Does Jason Isaac (Lucius Malfoy) not mutter the beginning of it in the books as well? Also always found it very funny that Malfoy's grand plan was to just murder a child in the middle of his school in broad daylight just for freeing his slave elf, thus he was the closest to killing harry than voldemort ever got at that point.

The fact that snape was a double agent, forced to kill dumbledore by dumbledore himself and then let the child he loved die, and also seeing his love go with another man makes me feel that he is the strongest character in harry potter. The pain he must have felt had to be enourmus. Especially after killing dumbledore because after that, he stood alone in finishing his mission

I love how in the goblet of fire and the order of the phoenix Voldemort's voice is full of energy and power. In the deathly Hallows part 1 it becomes a little bit damaged and old. In part 2 it sounds extremely damaged and very weak. That's because he gets weaker as the franchise goes on because the trio keep on destroying horcruxes.

This is only in the movies. In the books, he remains as powerful as ever, even without any Horcruxes left during the final duel with Harry. He's never mentioned as looking weak or frail at all.

@@BOB-ck7qp actually in the books it stated that no matter how many horcruxes are destroyed Voldemort will stay as powerful as ever because his mind and body remains unchanged. His soul has been damaged and detached for so long he doesn’t feel like normal people but he is still an extremely gifted wizard. It was his inability to understand the power of love which was his greatest weakness. Love drove Harry to destroy his horcruxes and return after death. Love triumphed death and Harry triumphed Voldemort.

The thing that most people confuses themselves is the fact that harry potter was never meant to be the the strongest nor was he a genius or some sort, Voldemort and Dumbledore are the two prodigies or geniuses and harry was just another ordinary boy with a weight of a dark past and a tough future on his shoulders, who just believed in his friends and had a heart of gold.

I've been reading the comments for almost half an hour now! Lemme save some time of yours: 1. Crabbe's avada kedavra in Room Of Requirements went unnoticed :/ 2. Lucius' in Chamber Of Secrets was also missed i'll add that: It was a mistake which he (Jason Isaccs) later confessed that he couldn't remember the spell and said what came on his mind. 3. All avada kedavra's were green except Snape's which was blue!😮 (was that intentional?) 4. Avada kedavra (kills) vs Abra kadabra (gets bunnies out of hat 🐰) gibberish 5. my favourite: 0:44 Snape's spell sounded so different from others, the pain in it was so real

Well the first time he was protected by pure love magic and the second time the curse killed the horcrux. I don't think he will resist the curse again. Like nothing should resist it even a indestructible man because the spell is not psyhical or mental, it's a spiritual attack. It splits the soul from body. So not even Superman could resist it, not even Wolverine who is nearly immortal or Hulk. I don't think the giants could resist it either becuase I've already told, it's not a psyhical attack, so no matter if they are immune to other spells like stupefy which is a psyhical attack, they can't survive the curse. Only an immortal or someone with very strong magic can survive it.
