I have a boy that, when I go to bed, a few minutes later he jumps up, lays on top of me, starts kneading the covers on my chest, gets real close to my face, purrs, plops himself down in my arm and drools away. He once drooled on my face while I was asleep. It was...odd but, I look forward to that routine every night! My little drooler!

I had a orange tabby that I found on the streets and he came running to me, I picked him up and he started drooling and needing in my hair. I had him for many years and he did this every night when we got in bed. Miss him! 💕

My current cat I got from the rescue at 4 years of age. It was obvious to me he had never been in a home before. He only makes biscuits on a particular blanket while purring like crazy, otherwise he doesn't purr at all, ever. When I pet him he enjoys it and breathes heavy, lol. He has never meowed but always uses trills and is quite happy. After having him for a year and a half he has just now started to meow in conversation with me. So I know he's happy, and in turn this makes me happy, lol.

Thank you thank you thank you for this video! I have learned a lot from this. I never knew why she wouldn’t let me tickle her tummy and I’m so glad you explained that. I rescued her off the streets A little over four years ago. She loves when I pet her but she will never let me pick her up or hold her. She gets very angry when we try to do that so we’ve given up on that. We never can even very softly, touch her paws. It almost seems to me that something happened prior that she pulls away so fast and hard from me even just barely touching the fur on her paws especially on the front? if I’m on the phone or if I move my arm around while she’s on top of my chest she will scratch claw and bite me! I know that she loves me in a lot of ways but the clawing and biting sometimes shows me that there’s something wrong or that whatever the behavior I’m doing which I have to tell you and since I’ve owned her for so long I very much pay attention to what I’m doing and I am really not doing that much when she decides to get angry and want to bite me? After I rescued her off the street. I should tell you how I rescued her. She actually wanted to be rescued she appeared outside my door and she was the cutest thing I ever saw and I and my son would always pet her going in and out of our front door. And then I started noticing that when I would pull up in my car mostly at night time I would see her waiting on the walkway sitting there just waiting for us. And it was in December and it gets pretty cold so my son and I started to worry about her being outside in the cold so we decided to put her in the garage with a huge box with wonderful new blankets with food water and I bought a litter box and we got to know her through that and I would always let her out obviously in the mornings and she would always be hanging out by the door kind of wanting to come in. So I asked around the neighborhood and found out that there was a lady that had about seven cats and that Kiki (that’s what we named her) was one of them. I spoke to her and she said that Kiki really wasn’t happy because she had just one female which was her and the rest were males. So I asked her if I could have her and she said yes (although Kiki kind of ran away before I even asked if I could have her but I wanted to be very nice about it). I also found out that Kiki was already fixed, has all of her shots and was chipped. My son and I really need to get to know Kiki before we brought her in the home and slowly but surely we ended up with Kiki and we love her so much. But her scratching and biting has been a little unnerving. Soon as we brought her in the house she would attack my sons feet all the time because he likes to stick them out when he’s sleeping and he would wake up screaming and so we started using a squirt bottle towards her face with mist and that stopped out after about six months. Watching the video and listening to other people I found out that in so many ways she’s happy. We have conversations when I enter the door after being gone for a little bit she seems like she’s letting me know that she wasn’t happy that I was gone for so long but I love the fact that she missed me. She loves to jump in my lap and we have a ritual at night for her treats can I give her every night and I couldn’t imagine my life without her. I was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago and have spent a lot of time in bed and Kiki would always struggle right up to my neck really close to my ear and just lay there for hours whereas she usually just love to be on my stomach really. But the biting and scratching sometimes is obviously painful because I’ve gotten some pretty gnarly scratches that have led to some scars but after she scratches me or bites me and she really won’t stop until I can somehow get behind her and pick her up and I get her out of my room or throw a blanket over her to make her stop if I can get to a blanket without her attacking my arm. It seems to me that that something happened that had something to do with an arm that maybe she was abused by that woman(I hate to say that) but I can’t take my arm off so what do I do? Ps. I’m so sorry it is so long but I didn’t know how to shorten it because there’s so much to say and ask

Every night before I go to sleep, my cat, Nehemiah, lays his head on my hand very gently and makes biscuits for about 10 minutes then heads over to his other blanket to "his spot" for sleep. It's so sweet when he lays his head on my hand. Bedtime is not complete without this little behavior.

My cat does this! He doesn't do it every night, it's only occasional. But it seems to be if my hand is in the right place, at the right time before he's fully asleep. It's SO sweet!

I just adopted a kitten and I had no idea cats drool. She doesn’t do it all the time but at night she gets extra cuddly and I will have a pool of drool. I’m glad it means she’s happy though!

My cat is constantly talking lol! She’s either meowing, purring or trilling! She loves to chatter if she hears birds too! She’s by far the most vocal/energetic cat I’ve met, it’s the cutest!

I just adopted my first cat on my own! She’s a senior kitty, and I knew from the moment I met her she was meant to be my cat because the second I started to pet her, she started to drool all over my hand. 😂 My mother also had a cat she shared a very close bond with, that drooled all over her the moment she met him. So now our family has what we call the “Drool Test” when adopting a new feline. I always found it funny a lot of people didn’t like it when it’s almost a requirement for us lol.

I always thought kneading was a cat's version of stress management. In fact my older cat, Ginger, noticed Louie was super hyper and she took him aside and showed him how to knead on one of the super fluffy beds, and now he has started doing that to calm himself, too.

My wife and I had and currently have droolers. Our current cat gets so happy that he will march in place, while kneading and purring, and he will drool. He will also do the social roll and flex in the air. He will even let me pet his soft belly while he rolls and flexes, but not my wife. We had another cat that loved belly rubs he would let us and guests rub his belly. He was very social with our friends. He loved having guests over.

My cat Jolly Rodger drools a lot when I pet her. I didn't realize it was a happy thing, but she only does it when I am petting her. I took it as a sign that she wants me to clean her, so I try to "spread" the drool over her face as if I was another cat licking her. She seems to love it. She's also the first long haired cat I've had in a really long time so it's so adorable for her head to be all wet and her hair slicked back. She's a tiny head on a big fluffy cat! lol

3 of our 4 are happy droolers! Only when they’re very very happy. They start kneading, purring, and little bubbles of drool start dripping from their lips. One of them trills constantly if you talk to her or pet her. Another does what I call her “bark,” which is just a series of short, staccato meows when she really wants you to lean down and pet her and admire her. Our only boy likes to sleep under the covers with either me or my spouse and will purr in our ears and paw at our arms if we’re asleep until we wake up and let him under. And our other girl has this very loud, demanding meow when she wants something… usually petting, which she’ll tell you by twisting her head at you until you pet her ears. I worry that they’re bored sometimes as indoor cats sharing an 800 sq ft apartment, but this video is very reassuring.

My Bengal, Presley, meows the exact opposite of every other cat I've ever owned. She emphasizes the "Me" and draws out the "ow". It was so sad at first. It always sounded like a child saying "Oh noooo". We have our blink and and the tail turns into a spotted candycane. I know she's happy. She also gracefully looks me in the eyes and allows me to trim her tallons. I think she knows the kneading shall commence when they have been tamed. Good videos, Doc! Thanks for taking the time.

I'm so sorry but you will see him again. My son lost his cat of 18 yrs and was so devastated that his cat came back in spirit to calm my son down. He would find cat hair on him months after his passing whenever he was over come with grief. They're just separated by a spiritual essence veil and I know you will see him again. I promise you. 💞😻💕

I have three more happy-cat signs to propose: 1. Kitty's tail goes straight up when he/she comes over to you, and 2. Kitty scent-marks you by grooming your face ❤ and also pushes their nose into your face, and 3. Cuddle-puddles with you! P..S. I had a drooler, and she was supremely divine!!!!!!

My 10 month old kitten is doing all of these things, except kneading and drooling! She especially purrs and vocalizes whenever she sees me. I'm so happy to hear this. She is my first ever cat, and knowing she is happy and confident makes me feel like I'm doing well so far.

My cat Neko follows me everywhere. He chirps a lot. We got him at the shelter after being passed over and over just because he only has three legs and was 10 when we adopted him. He was depressed and lethargic and antisocial we were told. But I have a habit my family says of always choosing the runts or the undesirables. But once we came home, he was attached to me. He slept with me. He follows me to the bathroom and has a shelf in the bathroom so that as I shower he is comfy. He sits by me on the couch and when I read in bed he is between my husband and I getting pets. He also sleeps with us. He looks to my husband for play. They play a lot. That is their dynamic. For cuddles my older son gets those. For a companion in mischief he and my younger son are comrades. He came to us depressed and inactive and we were told he would just be and old cat to pet and not to expect much but he is soooooo amazing. He is funny and cute and chirpy and sweet and playful and mischievous (knocking over the catnip can and having a partay 🎉). He came to us after our beloved Cookie Cat died of heart cancer at 13. We needed to fill the gaping hole that Cookie left and I had always had cats and pestered my husband. He said he wanted to choose our family member this time. The kids named him Neko (cat in Japanese) as his name Mika was not doing it for them. My husband laughs every time he tries to scratch his ear with his missing leg (the stump quivers) and uses a tissue to rub inside his ear for him. He is such a sweetheart. Could not imagine our family without him. 🐱

My boy's a drooler. Unfortunately, the thing that makes him happiest is when he's cuddled up to go to sleep on my head against the pillow. Not very nice to wake up to it dripping down your face, but I love it anyway. My other boy I raised from kittenhood by bottlefeeding, and he still seems to be pretty sure I'm his actual mother. There's a blanket I used to cuddle him up with when he was tiny, and now he asks me to put it on top of my other blankets at night so he can do his evening routine of roaming all over it and kneading. You can't pat him while he's doing it, though, because he gets all huffy and has to 'start again'.

I definitely have a drooler! Most times she sits on my lap she purrs, drools, makes biscuits and half closes her eyes. She also loves to investigate whatever I'm doing. She always gets in the way but it's so cute! She loves to sit in the room with us from her comfy footstool perch and blink slowly at us. She looks literally like the cat that got the cream: warm and cosy, comfortable and proud to be supervising her humans!

The day after we adopted our redhead Buddy i picked him up and said 'i love u buddy' he HOLLERED!! 'NOOO' and jumped down on the bed so i said it again and he gave me a very terse NO again. 😂 Now, eight months later when i'm in the kitchen he's twirling all around my legs rubbing his scent on me .. one day i looked down and warmly said 'you love me don't you' and he answered loudly 'yeaahh' then looked up at my face and 'yeaahh' again! ...melted my heart. 😍💕 Only thing is he will do that over & over in the kitchen but NOT anywhere else in the house! (and no he doesnt get fed in the kitchen, so it can't be food related).

Several times when my cats were drooling was when we just woke up and I was petting them. They started drooling, and then they shook their head and saliva all over my face and my bed 😂 ugh, what a good way to wake up

My kitty uses his purr to comfort me, especially when I'm having nightmares or trouble sleeping. He's always done this, but has been keeping an even closer eye on me since I unexpectedly lost my husband July 2021. I also get slow blinks from my kitty and my mom's kitty often.

oh yes, they know when you're heart hurts and so much more. My two cats knew I was pregnant before I did. It was there behavior that led me to the news. I hadn't even 'missed' yet, but went to the doctor who confirmed it. She stated that she was surprised as I was ---just pregnant and it was so very early and it was my first month off the Pill. I explained the cats behavior and she confirmed she had had others patience with similar experiences. During any heart ache I've had - a cat always helps.

I’m happy to see the drooling is normal and a sign of happiness. My cat does the same thing yours did: when he comes for cuddles, the drool starts, along with the long blinks, some times some biscuits are made, I get kissies, and the hardest head bumps, cuz he doesn’t understand his own strength ♥️

Thank you so much for this! I recently adopted 2 mature cats from the shelter. Both are 10, one a lifetime resident and deaf, one a surrender within the past year. My deaf girl was overweight and had some mats, but otherwise friendly. My gray girl just hid, had a chunky coat (not matted but not sleekly groomed). I am happy to report that both are now buddies with each other and my resident dog boi. And showing most of these happy cat signs. It took a lot of patience and showing of respect to gain trust but it has been SO worth it!

@@dianegesik7456 thanks! Sadly, my deaf girl (Janis Joplin) passed away from a raging cancer a month ago. No sign of it the month previous when I took her in. Took her in thinking she had an abscessed took. Nope. I am still shook, but also super glad I was able to give her a loving home in the last few months of her life.

Hi, thanks for all your advice! I’d never had cats because of asthma and allergies, (I’m 60) but my son wanted one…. We are such a cat family and very quickly we had 2. They bonded to my twins, but see me as mom/dad. So I wanted my own and found a Siberian cattery near me that had kittens on the 18th. Born in the year of the Tiger in the month of Leo. I’ll have my hands full and I can’t wait.

Wow! My very anxious (separation anxiety in particular) is quite happy! I (already) know he's happy because he does all 10. Tail up too. My thoughts on drooling: my cat kneads with his face buried in the blanket like he's milking his Mama. Sometimes he's drooling. I think it's just like us. When you think of food you love or smell food that's good, we drool. I believe the kneading stimulates the drooling.

I so happy that I found this video! I never had a cat before, and a little over a year ago I found Pandora, thrown at an empty lot, by herself at about 10-15 days old! She has been with me this whole time now, but I still don’t understand a lot about cats! Now seeing this video I know that she is happy! She does all the things you mentioned all the time! The only thing I haven’t experienced with her is the drooling... but she does relax her jaw and hangs out her tongue when I massage her! It’s the cutest thing to see! ❤️ Now I’m a lot more confident about the things I do for her, knowing that she is a happy cat! 😍😍😍

7 out of 10 👍 He only vocalises during tantrums before zoomies. He was like that since he was a kitten, he was adopted from street at 3 months. Maybe he wasn't around humans I don't know his story unfortunaly he was found alone. He doesn't drool and doesn't do classical social role maybe only on bed sometimes. I'm glad that he has all other 7 signs I always wonder if he is happy 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I've said it before on this channel I know, but I'll say it again, my cat LOVES belly rubs! I've never seen a cat who loves belly rubs before but she begs for them. And she'll let me rub her belly for as long as I want, very relaxed and purring the whole time!

My little girl does all of the above, plus curling up on my lap constantly and I mean constantly. I can't even cross my legs anymore! She also sleeps on my legs at night in bed. And, let's not forget the ever adorable following me into the bathroom to check out what I'm doing. She purrs while eating. I adopted her from my local Humane Society a little over 2 years ago. She's about 6 or 7 years old right now according to her vet. I adore her. I also had two cats in the past who drooled something awful. I miss them as I do all of my previous and precious cats.

Thks for clarification. I love my cat babies. They show when they not ok.....and it helps me that I notice them....often. I have a sweet drooler. ! She is my sweet girl! Her name is Babe Roof! In past....she lived on/on the roof outside. We coaxed her into screened porch eventually. Now she is safer and happy, and with friend there.

Great video, thanks. My boy chirrups all the time, greets me and is very vocal. His sister tries to talk but barely has a whisper voice, the softest squeak that you'd miss if not listening carefully. She has a loud voice if objecting to a pill though! So interesting!

I have a drooler and he's happy while he's drooling. He also got sick and the first indication that something was wrong was excessive drooling. So if it just starts out of the blue I'd have them checked at the vet.

My cat has all of them! She is also a drooler especially when she is getting brushed 😂 she will be purring and making biscuits and then she will shake her head and you just feel drool sling onto you!

My cat loves the social roll 🥰♡♡ She especially does it after I come back from work, she always rolls from side to side on her back 😍 My cat just loves rolling in the dirt and sand haha, that is like her most common behaviour.... As she's mainly an quiet cat, but will give you head- buts where if you put your hand out she'll jump up to reach it 🥰 She also does quick purs (trilling) to acknowledge you she's such an beautiful girl I adore my cat an lot!! 🥰❤💖 xoxox

When my boy is super happy, he purrs and rubs his face all over mine all the while being a big drool bucket. He also loves being brushed and he’ll flop and roll to indicate he wants me to brush his belly and chin. I love my precious Gravy Boat buckets of love. Xoxoxo

My cat had a bad hypoglycemia episode a couple nights ago. I got his blood sugar back up and took him to the vet. He won’t jump up on my lap yet and is a little cranky but he does purr when I pick him up.

My mom's got a cat who drooles when happy, especially when she can come stick her nose into my hair. She'll put her front legs around my neck and it feels like she's in love with how my hair smells, so she'll end up kind of drooling onto it! Lol! I tend to untie my hair so that she can enjoy it easierly! My mom complains that lady cat is often doing the roll thing you describe in the middle of her way. My mom is over 80, so it's a bit of a bummer for her, to have to walk around the cat laying like that in the middle of the way, but I'll tell her what it means, so maybe then she won't complain as much about it! Lol! Thanks for the information!

One of my cat's has never done the kneading thing. Even when he was a kitten, but he does everything else to indicate he's happy. He's 11 years old, has a beautiful black coat and is still very energetic. My other cat is 11 and the same. She's a drooler, a kneader and her tail shakes when it's feeding time or when she sees my brother lol 😂

My 2-year-old tuxedo boy is a drooler. He loves to be held like a baby while I walk him around my room...and by the time I put him down there is a trail of drool droplets on the floor XD. The first few times this happened I was so confused because I thought something was leaking from the ceiling. It's partly adorable and partly gross lol.

I had a cat (he died last September 😢) who would give me the what-for if I'd been away too long. I'd come up and he would give the lonnnnngest meows i ever heard! then when he felt I was apologetic enough, he'd stop and would rub all over me. cutest thing. 😂❤ I miss my boy. on the drooling front, my dad's next door neighbor's cats adopted him and his wife shortly after they moved in, and now never go home at all. one of them, Eva, will jump in your lap, purr loudly, make biscuits, and DROOL copious amounts onto ur shirt as she rubs her head against ur belly 😅😅😂 I love that cat but I get up wet hahaha😂😂😂

We had a cat - a big fella, Elrick who was a beautiful striped gray/blue with dark eyeliner eyes. He was a very happy, spoiled cat that biscuit make a drooled ALL THE TIME. He would even 'nurse' on pillow corners, shirt ends, hair tuffs, and once while my husband, (now Ex), was sleeping, his earlobe. He was very tall and could stand on his hind legs and rest his front paws up to his elbows on the counter. My ex husband would share his beer with him. Elrick was particular, he only liked Moosehead Beer. I was sure it was because of the large opening to the bottle. Nope we tried to swish beers using the same type bottle. He turned and gave us the 'high tail' and sauntered away in rebuke. Only cat I've ever seen that loved a particular beer, or any beer for that matter!

Our cat Jinxy drools when he is with us in the morning. We got it that he was happy. He does it every morning. and does biscuits too. We know what he likes and he knows us too. He is a black cat that my daughter brought to us where he was found in a road. I didn't want anymore pets but We love him so much.

My youngest boy will hit the ground with a little thud that always makes me laugh. Like he's so aggressive with his fall it's like he ragdolls, but then he gives me the widest eyes and I can't help but pet him. He's actually completely comfortable with me touching his belly I've never had a cat that allowed it with no limits.

We have 3 cats, they are all about 4 years old, so fairly young. They all have their favorite people, but are all curious and friendly, tails up regularly. They get curious about visitors and want to check them out. Two of them are less interested in belly showing, and the one that will does it in my arms - but this might have to do with the dog in the house. None of them drool, and the two that don't show belly at all are kneaders and love to do that on soft blankets usually marked with scent of their favorite person or people. They all purr and do slow blinks regularly. They all have their playful times and individual things they like to do in those playful times. We hear a lot of chirping and happy upbeat meow's particularly when their individual person arrives home or wakes up and are greeted with happy kitty sounds. All three have immaculate coats, and use the litter box pretty well. Now and then one of them (we aren't sure which) tends to want to mark territory in my son's room, but we're working to curb that and fix that very sporatic sort of thing better. The cat that adores me loves to lay belly up in my arms and put her toe beans on my lips for kisses. I did that when she was a kitten and she still loves it. We have 3 spayed female cats who are friendly, fun, sweet, and have their own personalities. We never owned cats before this and I did a lot of research to learn how to be a good cat parent.

My cat very rarely meows but otherwise appears happy. He is about 12 years old ( I have rescued him from a family with a dog ). He never got used to the dog and does not like them to this day!

I have a drooler! He is constantly asking for attention and love. Sometimes when you love on him, he drools. It's cute and funny, but as a cat person, drooling is not the best thing😃His sister(from the same litter) is one that we have always wondered if she is happy. We even took her to the vet when she was younger just to ask if something was wrong with her because she doesn't show happiness like I would expect a cat to. We were told she is fine.

My MoMo does social rolls every time I come home from work or being out. While he does knead a bit, he tends to pat you with his paw more often. He's currently lying right beside me and pressing against me when i move. I used to have a cat that was a very loud purrer and he would drool like crazy. Thank you, really enjoy your videos.

When we adopted our youngest cat at about seven months old he started drooling .. A LOT .. all over the apt .. like a water faucet. Took him to vet who wasn't sure why he was doing that but suggested it could be the beginning of an upper respirtory infection. Gave him an injection of antibiotic and the drooling stopped almost immediately and hasn't come back.

I used to know two cat brothers. I called them Spike and Bubbles. Bubbles was the dominant one, but he blew saliva bubbles when he was happy! Spike was the submissive one, and he'd lightly chew on my fingers as an attempt at grooming my fingers. I thought the names were funny because they were opposite to their personalities.

One of my boys was pooping on the floor (luckily solid sweepable turds) because the litter box was a little too nasty for his taste. I was just being a bad cat-dad and I needed to clean the litterbox more often.
