This is what everyone is over looking... "This is UNACCEPTABLE soldier! You hear me? You failed!" His reaction to that statement is very accurate when you're brainwashed. He would rather have died than hear his outcome was "UNACCEPTABLE" by his handler. The man/person/only thing that showed him positive reinforcement when successfully completing a mission. It is shown in the later movies how his "training" occurred. Any resistance was punished with torture. -Sleep Deprivation -Water Boarding -Physical Punishment This put's an individual under extreme stress. When the brain recognizes that it is under extreme stress, it quickly becomes moldable. (Neuro Plasticity) -Thought Patterns -Problem Solving -Deeply Held Beliefs -Moral Compass -IDENTITY It is shown how (Dr. Albert Hersch) uses this to finally push Jason over the edge into compliance. "Let go of David Webb" | "You came to us" | "You're not a liar, are you? Or too weak to see this through?" This is the true meaning behind this story line and this clip.

He knew that the kids were on the boat but it was the middle of the night. The kids were supposed to be in bed and Bourne thought the target was alone but they all fell asleep on the couch watching a movie. If it were a real scenario, based on how long he was on the boat I would infer that the guy was pretty much never alone. I mean the dude was basically an African king with over a dozen kids and multiple wives. He was also extremely paranoid. Especially about the safety of his kids. Logically he probably wasn't likely ever truly alone. Except maybe on his Yacht he might be. Bourne likely thought after nearly a week at sea he finally got lucky and the guy instead of going to the bedroom, as he usually would, stayed up late to grab a drink, watch TV and relax alone for a while. Something he would never do anywhere else. So he took his chance and it ended up being a misplay.

The fact thing about this is, if bourne was so meticulous in his research and planning, knowing where wombocy would be and at what time, he knew his every move, surely he would have known wombocy would have his children on the boat with him. Huge plot hole for me.

Plot hole? of course not, that's called well written character story, that when the writer tells a lot about the protagonist and his journey with very few words. By the way, that's why the Neski case is the center piece of the second movie because that time he did pull the the trigger.

Jason Bourne in the books was a different story. This Jason Bourne has memory loss but retains muscle memory and reactive skills ingrained from doing exercises a hundred thousand times. Jason's training as we find out later on is ingrained psychiatric conditioning...teaching the mind to remember skills, languages etc that have been forced in, the CIA Have tried this in the real world...with little to no success. This is why Jason has the mental break on the boat as he's going against his own moral ethical code, hypnotists will tell you that people can't be hypnotised into doing things that violate their own moral ethical principles, leading to the collapse of the Jason Bourne identity. Marie becomes his moral centre as he tries to find his way out of the maze that is his mind. A heroes journey as Joesph Campbell would call it

Doesn’t matter, that’s not the main point, it’s just minor sound affects. What matters is the realism of Bourne

He's a 30 million dollar weapon? That's actually really cheap compared to what else the US spends its defense budget on. That's like 1/4 the price of a single fighter jet. That's half the budget of this movie lmao

Protective measures to hide the failure of the assassination program and bury the truth from the public and congress. The same pattern follows the whole trilogy, and in the end Jason finds the truth and ends their corrupt careers. Surviving every assassin sent to “eliminate the threat” because all Jason wanted was the truth and peace.

Uhh because they’re tracking him anyway? They were all working together until Jason defected shot in back and MIA. Why would they ask him…if they already knew and wanted him dead to coverup the entire operation that Jason botched? Daniels knew more than Jason did what’s there to ask? Lol keep up
