About Amelie Scott Designs:
Amelie Scott Designs creates innovative quilting and embroidery projects. Founded on the idea of providing beautiful projects with a simple to understand instructions, this family business has been bringing you projects you can enjoy and customer service that you can depend on. And, we’re kinda funny too…
Headed by trained educator, BERNINA ambassador, and quilting expert Christine Conner, and the “geeky guy” Mark Conner, the company became well known several years ago for our book, Edge-to-Edge Quilting on Your Embroidery Machine, which helps quilters get professional quilting results using their home embroidery machine. From there, the company grew, publishing a range of new products, and 2 more books, including our latest, Custom Quilting on Your Embroidery Machine!

I’m getting ready to take a class at my LQS. Do you start at the top center of the quilt working down? Do you then do the next column to the left or right alternating sides until complete to prevent distortion? I’m a bit confused on that one thing. Otherwise on my Bernina or Pfaff I have precise position to line designs.
@allbrands1976
@allbrands1976 2 жыл бұрын
Hi DD, I reached out to Mark at Amelie Scott, and got this response: Short answer #1: the instructor will cover that in class. Short answer #2: you start at the top, and at or near the middle of the quilt. Then, you quilt columns, always moving to the right. Slightly longer answer: these are important aspects of the technique, which are explained in the Edge-to-Edge book. Specifically, the “Easy-Connect, Step-by-Step” section. If the customer wants to get a head start on the technique before class, reading through that section of the book is the right way to go. I hope that helps. Mark

what about the need to turn your quilt to do the opposite side. Could you speak to a reverse point stitch?
@allbrands1976
@allbrands1976 2 жыл бұрын
HI Nancy! We asked them to specify. this is their response: The steps for quilting the second side of the quilt are explained in our book, under the heading “Stitching the columns on the second side,” which is found on page 14 of the book. I’ve never heard of a reverse point stitch, but I’m pretty sure we don’t use one. If the customer still has questions about that, please ask her to explain what she means, and why she believes it’s related to our technique. I hope this helps. - Mark www.allbrands.com/categories/4469/57183-amelia-scott-10-designs-asd201-edge-to-edge-quilti

@allbrands1976
@allbrands1976 Жыл бұрын
Hi Ann, pulling up the bobbin thread can be done with machine embroidery, but it is not the same as free motion, since the embroidery machine does a lock stitch at the end anyway, and leaves a small tail on the back that can be clipped off.
