UPDATE: I neglected to explain the SPLIT/WIDE buttons. When on "Split," that band only acts on its own parameters. When on "Wide," that band acts on the entire bandwidth of the channel. For example, when any frequency reaches the threshold set on that band, that's band's compressor acts.

Hello thanks for the awesome Video. Can u tell how this mixer (as a whole) and its preamps sound? If Possible an small comparision with Digico SD Series or Yamaha QL/CL oder AVID S3L-X? Thanks a lot in Advance

Can you use the multiband comp and dynamic EQ at the same time, or is it a switch between one "mode" and the other?

They really are the same process to a DSP. Only the user interface dictates their being called one or the other.

In my opinion, split is ideal for most situations. I would use wide if I wanted the compressor to act at a certain threshold overall, but affect each frequency band differently. For example, on a tom, cut the boomier bands more aggressively than the crackly bits, or vice versa.

It’s pretty ridiculous today for a console manufacturer to regard dynamic EQ and multiband Dynamics as ‘special processes’ only available in a limited quantity. DSP needs to be scaled up in all digital mixers to accommodate each in every path. It’s a marketing myth that this is a problem for them.
