What a genius - Allen creates these masterpieces using mainly handtools in his garage - they always look like a factory built machine - what they might have been made given the right inspiration. Love watching his channel - and the ticking clock in the background soothes the soul.

"And then I rather took a fancy to the Space shuttle so I built my own. I made a few improvements but most of the work I was able to do with my grinder and the tools in my chook shed." I won't be in the least bit surprised when, not if, this is a line from an upcoming vid. This man is either a genius, a sculptural artist, an engineering phenom, a god amongst machinists , a master of the hidden arts of genuine magic or a combination of all five. I'm going with the combination of all. My lord this man is inspiring, I think I'll go back and fiddle with my Honda CT70!

Reading your comment, I agree, but I might be wrong, but it comes off that you might not (at least at time of writing) know what this man has done. He really is a mechanical and engineering genius.... this is probably one of his least impressive builds (and they're all beyond impressive). He's built everything from singles up to V12 's, completely by himself, or by taking what the starting bike already came with... again, I might be wrong and you might know exactly who he is lol, but if not, I highly recommend searching him up on KZfaq, he's got his own channel and uploads rather regularly, and a lot of his creations are in museums.

I'm new to Allen Millyard's channel and have been watching his videos on his Honda 100 and 180 V-twins, they're truly phenomenal things but I'm a British bike man at heart and I'm left totally speechless by this Velocette... it's absolutely perfect, just beautiful. Allen's engineering brilliance is well known and beyond question but I reckon his real genius is his ability to make his bikes look like credible factory models, others occasionally pull off this type of conversion but the results always look like Frankenstein's Monster-type lash-ups compared to Mr. Millyards bikes.. Incredible, I just wish my dear old Dad was still alive to see them..

Your home brewed engineering solutions are brilliant, yet simple and practical (simple in concept, not necessarily in construction!), and the workmanship is always first rate. This is how "hot rodding" was done in the age before CAD, 5 axis vertical mills, and having your own aluminum foundry. What you can accomplish with a hacksaw, a small lathe, and a TIG welder is astonishing.

I had three Vincents and with Ferodo AM4 linings, minor mods to stiffen the brake back-plates, the brakes were good enough for all fast road riding (no speed limits in my days in the 1950-60s) and at my first Vincent Owners Day at Cadwell Park, 1971, they were good enough to win three Trophies. @M Bacon gently suggest you're cross threaded: Andy B was referring to the Flying Millyard 5 litre V-twin with a Pratt & Whitney engine. The Velo was two two 350 singles, making 700, not 750. Or to be precise, as he said in the film, 698cc (2x349) Just to fully blow your socks off - have a look at his 8 litre V10 behemoth. The idea of it is ridiculous, but his execution of it is astonishing. Amazing skills, but completely unencumbered by ego. A true national treasure.
