Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin where in todays video we are talking Allies of Skin. Regular viewers of this channel will know I am drugstore to my core when it comes to my skincare routine but sometimes I dont mind paying a little more if the brand is going to deliver more - lets see if this is the case with allies of skin.
Allies of Skin started out in 2016 as a luxury skincare brand which claimed to offer multiple benefits in single products which took some of the common problematic ingredients out and added in some soothing and calming ingredients in their place. Is Allies of Skin worth the money, lets find out.
I put the whole Allies of Skin collection through its paces to find out which products would become holy grails and which would be classed as skincare fails.
Allies of Skin is often classed as Korean Skincare but this is not strictly true and whilst it shares a lot in common with its Korean counterparts (gentle formulations and innovative ingredient combinations) it is in fact a brand based out of Singapore.

Allies of Skin has been my favorite brand for 2 yrs now! I have been obsessed with everything! I have seen the best results with their products compared to most other brands, which to me justifies the price point. I have been wanting to branch out & try PSA!

Loved your review as always Rob. The barrier recovery cream balm sounds very interesting and something I might consider trying . I had never heard of PSA so need to have a bit of an investigation there too. A family cruise eh! They have insane sales on their products . I recently bought 22 products and after dividing the total cost by the amount of products I paid an average of $30.90 per product including products that have an original price of $150. I’m sure it’s all part of their marketing strategy, but if you look at it like that it’s a pretty affordable line.

this review was so thorough and helpful! Oh I really want to try all the holy grails you mentioned. I don't always deal with acne but when it comes it is almost always in the form of a painful cystic monster that refuses to die. But the Vitamin C or Mandelic acid and the balm would probably serve me more....have to read and think. Either way #Imin Thank you for your honesty and for talking about the sister band (which I had no knowledge of!) and comparisons with The Ordinary/Niod!

I would say (if you purchase during their 40% off + free gift event) their products are actually worth the price! This is coming from someone who use drug store stuff nearly exclusively. Their products are VERY much worth it! I’ve only tried the niacinamide one, the hylarounic acid one and the promise keeper. All products made other cheaper products apply better, locked in so much moisture AND I have VERY redness prone skin and this stuff killed the redness and it’s not even advertised as such! You really only need one pump of the product too. It’s worth in my opinion

I have fallen in love with this brand recently and I was waiting for such complex review of this brand. You like the same products as me. For me I like multitasking formulas. Full of antioxidant and peptides which I love. Sometimes they have good discounts so I will buy more and more products. Well, I like all the MAS videos so that's easy 😄 although I don't always comment... I admit, I've not even heard of Allies of Skin 😬 I can always go for good skin days though lol Oh... per your water cream video... e.l.f. just released a new blemish line that includes a water cream! I had to order it, and can't wait to try! The serum dies have some great ingredients like low BHA and Tranexamic Acid, but I thought of you when it said 10% Niacinimide. I don't have sensitive skin, but I don't think I need more Niacinimide in my life right now... 😂 But, it would take the place of three serums I currently use, so I may give a try just to have one instead of 2 or 3...

I used to love the Allies Peptides & Antioxidants Daily Firming Treatment. The ingredient deck is incredible, and the glow it leaves is gorgeous. Unfortunately, I've since learned about longitudinal studies that have shown an association topical between titanium dioxide and hair loss/recession around the edge of the scalp. And unfortunately it has it, and I'm pretty sure that's where it gets its gorgeous glow, in fact. So reluctantly, I've had to say good-bye to it. I still love the 35% Vitamin C Serum, tho.

@@ianaemi5608 yeah :/ there's dermatological studies showing it. Obviously correlation =/= causation, but in this case there's a pretty strong strong correlation and it's enough for me to refrain. Also, I know everyone hypes "physical sunscreens" as being safer than "chemical," but titanium dioxide has been classified as a possible carcinogen, so I really don't understand why it's so widely used including in the natural skincare market. Non-nano zinc oxide sunscreen is a good alternative, though. I like Pipette SPF 50 20% non-nano zinc oxide sunscreen. Not sure if it's available outside the U.S., but here it's super cheap (literally $15 for a 4oz tube, and you can usually get it on sale), and it's a very thin and sort of almost runny consistency, so it's easy to rub in unlike most physical sunscreens. It also doesn't leave a white cast on me, although I'm very fair with cool undertones, so YMMV.

The peptides and antioxidants moisturizer is actually formulated perfectly even with those 4 peptides they have a delivery system that will get them to where they ACTUALLY NEED TO GO, instead of just throwing 20 peptides in it that have no delivery system to get into the skin which is just a waste how some skincare brands do. Those serums with a ton of peptides but zero delivery system are nothing more than a moisturizing product.

I would be so curious as to how these brands decide on pricing on their products....It does make me wonder just how much these products cost to make. I think brands like The Ordinary and Good Molecules have made me suspicious of overly priced products. The other thing I noticed is their serums are .5 ounces, which is 15 ml, half the amount of regular serums (30 ml..) Thank you so much Rob, for the give away. That is so kind of you!!💖💖💖

The serums from Allies of Skin is 30 ml, except the Niacinamide booster that is 50 ml. It is the boosters from PSA that is only 15 ml (don’t understand why they are so small).

I have tried both Molecular Silk Amino Hydrating Cleanser and Peptides & Antioxidants Daily Treatment. Personally, I prefer the daily treatment which is very moisturizing with lovely texture. #imin
