I know a few facts about aligators. If you hear an alligator hiss, it's a warning that you are too close. Alligators have a natural fear of humans, and usually begin a quick retreat when approached by people. If you have a close encounter with an alligator a few yards away, back away slowly. Actually alligators can reside in Maryland but to be honest with you that's kind of a bit too far out of their territory. They can be spotted in Maryland around Chesapeake Bay to be exact A man just recently found an 8 ft long alligator near Chesapeake this year like a week ago
