Thanks for this conversation, Jason and James. This has prompted a conversation between my wife and me about the family economy and a potential shift in how we approach certain parenting situations. There is a big part of society that is wedded to extrinsic rewards in parenting and another big part that is vociferously opposed to it. This helps ask the always powerful question: well, in what situations might that be useful?

@@JaysonGaddis great to hear. We are about to do our first experiment of offering $ for chores/work beyond what they do as family members. Then we may expand the allowance and start asking them to pay a % of certain expenses. One step at a time. Great stuff, man
