haha.... I did an exchange to Adelaide when I was a student, drove there from Sydney over 2 weeks via a rather circuitous route. Thing is I'd only brought camping gear for warm/summer (because Australia) ended up having one of the coldest nights of my life in a tent in the Snowies :-)!

@@tomriley5790 gets bloody cold out in the end dessert too at nights! But you're right, apparently we have more snow than Switzerland in the Snowies because we're such a bigger country.

@@sandy-quimsrus according to some scientific research place that was quoted in magazines you also have deeper snow than Switzerland does I’m recent years. The snow level in Switzerland has remained fairly constant so its you getting more snow than usual. They were calculating by how many inches or cm’s actually and Australia was getting somewhere around 30% more snow than was typical. Of course thats a good thing for all of you down there.

Huge thanks to the support crew (patrons) for sticking along! In this video I'm using a new 360 degree camera (insta x2) that was 100 % funded by patrons. Quite happy with how it works when skiing, allows me to capture some nice angles and I can do a lot with just this and the drone. The drone that suffered in the making of this video has a bent arm but is still kind of working. If my prediction is correct, it'll probably experience a painful death soon. If you're interested in helping me out with replacing broken drones and cameras etc., check out my Patreon page below! I promise to buy either beer or a dinner for me & Sohvi with any leftover Patreon funds 😏 www.patreon.com/alluringarctic

I spent a year living at a US radar site on a mountain overlooking the Norwegian Sea from the heights of Heidarfjall Mountain located on the thin neck of Langanes Peninsula. Friends of mine were stationed on a different radar site on Straumnes Mountain near Adalvik Bay - a few dozen miles north of Isafjordur. If you looked up while passing those two places, you may have been able to see the remnants of those two sites. One closed in 1960 - the other in 1961 when high winds blew the ‘Bubble’ over. While stationed there, I would often watch the cod fishing boats just off the coast of the peninsula. Our job there was to watch for Soviet Bombers - if they crossed into Icelandic airspace we dispatched USAF fighters to escort them away from Iceland. The beautiful scenery you show in your video reminds me of the time I spent there. Thanks for posting.

Okay then, finally, the place looks like the upper Great Lakes during the winter (constant bubbling and a challenge because it is fresh water). What about 🤔using dryer hose to redirect the heat from the chimney from the heater into the track for the main sail, or go up by rope and use a heat gun to blow out the channel a little bit at the time until the sail will go up and down freely , this is where the very old boat has a functioning advantage

The muskox are having a hard time digging through the ice but I haven't heard of any mortality from it yet for those folks. Could effect their fertility the spring, I don't know. I'm sure the small animals are having difficulty - voles, shrews, lemming.
