Francois Marc walks around Almaty, Kazakhstan with his friends from night to day. I got a chance to see real life on the streets of Almaty. I enjoyed seeing walking Almaty city streets and meeting people who are different from me. I tried various Kazakh foods and I even took the Almaty metro for the first time with a friend. Walking tours are my favorite thing to, so it's no wonder I really enjoyed my time walking around the streets of Almaty Kazakhstan and exploring everything the city has to offer.

I love that the city lies at the foot of the mountains. Just 30 minutes from the centre of the city and you will find yourself in a ski resort where the ski season runs from October to April.

It's Switzerland of Central Asia.. You should try visiting Eastern Kazakhstan Altai mountain ranges 'Katon Karagai' bordering Russia and China , about an hour flight to Ust Kamenegorsk from Almaty. Very beautiful Altai mountains @@francoismarc3

I've traveled the world myself and can say that Almaty deserves accolades... and I was mostly comparing it to my hometown of Los Angeles which is not clean, not modern, not well-thought out nor particularly family-friendly. Yet it is beautiful... I am more likely to visit Almaty due to this video!

@@francoismarc3 Yeah, actually you’re partly right , some small towns still look like they are stuck in the Soviet Union era. The government is developing only big cities like Astana and Almaty. Mostly because of corruption :(

I was there from June 9 to June 22, I was born, and grew up in Almaty, came to United States in 1998, ever since I was living in NY, but once or twice a year, I’m traveling back to Almaty, and I think I will eventually retire there, American retirement can carry you long way there!

Such a nice young man. We welcome good people. Last year I was in the United States (New York, San Francisco, Miami) also traveled to the Caribbean region (Dominican, Puerto Rico, Bahamas) and I must admit, I was very impressed. But everyone always wants to go to America, it's the coolest country and I'm glad that Americans now come to visit us and get acquainted with Kazakhstan.

I was born in Almaty and lived almost whole my life. Now I live in Australia but always miss my Apple city. BTW, 22:35 is called the "week" fountain because each of 7 arcs represents a day of the week and you can read it on the arc.

definitely worth seeing and you also need to visit Kolsay Lakes, that place is insanely beautiful! Some people call it as a little Switzerland! Also Charyn canyon and many many amazing places to visit there. Beautiful people, places, national cuisine, lots of greens everywhere,mountains,mmmm! Love it!

Когда ты всю жизнь живёшь в одном городе, то твой глаз замыливается и ты перестаёшь видеть многие вещи, особенно когда всё меняется с такой башенной скоростью. come to kazakhstan again. you can take to the mountains in almaty this time. there are also a lot of beautiful places, cafes and restaurants with terraces, as i know. there is a ski resort shymbulak. and the views from the hotels are wonderful.
