Chris, if you fastened one end of a big rubber band to your elbow and the other end to a tree you could have cut the log a lot faster LOL

You must wire these wooden pins/wedges so they won't jump/drop/fall on the other side of the log.

Here in Russia, we call such a saw "Friendship 2". It usually takes two to cut!!

Having seen hundreds of trees near me taken down over the years, it always makes me sad when these 3'+ diameter trees come down. I just know that most/all of them went to the landfill or a stump dump to rot.

This one was cut down due to new power lines. What history this old beast had experienced.

@@ChopWithChris Around here, usually it's one of 2 things. Either a storm will bring down a large limb on a silver maple with a 5' diameter trunk in a dense neighborhood OR it's one of the old Gilded Age beech trees with an even larger trunk that's suffering from Phytophthora and Nectria. The one part of these beeches that makes it almost alright is that they often start rotting in their cores after the infections set in.

Я в детстве тоже пилил дрова такой же двуручной пилой)))))) Сейчас все используют бензопилы, и не знают что такое ручная пила.
