While filming and exploring a beautiful abandoned bridge, at the end of the video I heard a way too close single gun shot. In an area where there didn't appear to be any people. While making my exit someone was whistling in the woods......

This place turned creepy real quick! If the gun shot wasn’t creepy enough, the whistling in the woods was far creepier. It’s not hunting season, and there are no military ranges nearby. I also never saw another car after I ran that couple off accidentally before I started recording. Jorg says: “Just watched your video, and it just dawned on me the reason I found this bridge. Years back there was a dog fighting ring nearby that someone told me about and we actually loaded up guns and hung out on the bridge on Saturday nights to listen for anything that would bring us to the location where the fights were taking place. I should have told you that when I told you about the bridge.” The magnet I’m using: amzn.to/2Irembw The rope: amzn.to/2DhcjTe

I love old houses and old bridges. Theses older things were so much more throughout and have way more beautiful architecture then what we do today. People had more pride in what they built back in the day. It's so sad to see the old houses and bridges rot away. I feel like if these things had been taken care of they would last longer. That's the bridges. The older beautiful houses just makes me cry. Sorry I know that's just crazy. But there was so much more back than, than what people are building today. I love what you do. You have such reference for wherever you go. Rather it's an old bridge or house but, especially the forgotten cemeteries. God bless you

This bridge dates to the late 1920's, or the early 1930's. The US Highway system [NOT the Interstate Highway system] was created in 1926. The builders of the early US highways employed this arch-type bridge construction, and it was copied along secondary highways. US Highway 1 at Big Sur on the California coast has some very large examples of this type of bridge. I'm actually surprised this bridge is abandoned. The arch-type bridges at Big Sur see heavy use to this day. It's a very strong design.

That's awesome that you restore and fix/build vintage VW's. I used to do the same back in the 80s. I had a baby blue DuPont Imron paint job 1964' California style bug,(not stock) with a 2180 cc motor that I built, that made it into HOT VW's Magazine. It did a 14 second quarter mile! Those were the days..We could sure have some great conversations about VW's! Wish I could see your shop but I live in Washington state. Have a great day Robert! - Ken

That was fun!! I was pretty worried about your walking bare-feet for broken glass that might be there. You walked quite a ways it seemed. That bridge that THE most beautiful I have ever seen. I believe it was a private bridge built to get to someone's grand estate. The wood carving on the underside had to have been a private job. It was so fun to see it! Glad you got out of there safe and sound. Looking forward to watching some magnet fishing one day. God bless and thank you for your videos. Love that calm and interesting voice. OH, you have such unusual trees there, beautiful trees that I have never seen before. Also I hear a bird occasionally in the background that I have never heard. I like that we know what you do for a living and that you enjoy your labor. That is just wonderful. Wow that was freaky towards the end. The whistling means at least 2 people were watching you. One signaling the other(s). This bridge looks like something built by the WPA..especially from the decor on the pillars that look like 1930s design. The WPA did some really beautiful work in concrete during those years. The oldest part of Bayshore Dr Ballustrade on the seawall of Tampa Bay in Tampa, Florida was built by the WPA and is very similar to the top sides of your bridge although not crumbling as are those on your bridge. It continues to be enjoyed by hundreds-thousands every day walking, jogging & cycling along it.

Omg you scared me with this video. I was having such a relaxing moment with that running water and lush green forest. Until I heard the gun shot 😳 I hate when people pollute and throw their junk! That’s just horrible it’s so beautiful there!! You have a super cool job! I am restoring a 64 Chevy Truck fleet side. I’m learning to sand it down myself. I know nothing about motors but I hope to learn to do the body work and primer it and then get somebody to paint. My dream truck is the five window. Maybe I will sell this one and get me a five window. You have a super cool job and a super cool you tube. Maybe one day I can get up the hill from where I live in CA and do a video of an old cemetery. The town used to be a gold rush town. Then you can see what Our old cemetery looks like. You guys have tons of history over there. Thanks for sharing all these videos. Maybe you should take somebody with you. It’s too dangerous to go alone. That area seems dangerous. Ditto on the VW love! I grew up with a van and a camper in the family and drove a Rabbit, a 69 bug, a 72 super beetle and the world's lemoniest Fox Wolfsberg Edition!

Looks like a beautiful WPA bridge! I have mimosa envy! But, yeah, people in the woods are kind of terrifying.
