I can’t imagine how phantom pain feels, I watched something about it a while ago and it said one theory was that the nerves were cut in surgery and they didn’t comprehend that the limb isn’t there. But that was just a theory. I doubt there’s much research done into it because there probably won’t be a medication they can sell to ‘fix it’ so companies won’t get richer from it

I worked with a guy who had MS for 10 yrs and had phantom pain knee down. Only thing that helped was paralgin forte(which caused tons of other issues) so cannabis was better. But then he got som MDMA, twice. And after that he's pain was completely gone for the rest of his life, 5 yrs until he sadly passed away.

I have just celebrated 15 years since I was diagnosed with a melanoma in my left eye and I am glad I am still here. My tumour is dead now thanks to two types of radiation therapy which took a lot of my sight in my eye, even though my brain still thinks it can get the same information from it 🤪. I have had 8 operations, more in my good eye due to glaucoma, and I can't work due to my sight loss but weirdly it got me back into my photography. Since 2017 I have done over 80 model shoots with awesome people who have taught me so much about photography and life. Keep going

Hey Brian! I'm 30 years old, I have had 2 kidney transplants, 31 surgeries, sepsis and 34 broken bones! Last year I almost lost my left leg. The head of the femur was necrotic, and was over the legal limit for pain meds. I Decided to cut out my hip to stop the spread, and had a total hip replacement... I still have my leg! I was jumping after 1 week. Life truly sucks sometimes, but as long as you have people in your corner, you will come through whatever you're struggling with. Hope everything goes alright

No wonder there was such a gap in contact from late January to mid February or so. You would have never guessed that he went through this when he started posting again throughout late February, March and April. You can tell he didn’t want all of the attention and sympathy and wanted to be humble and now it seems he’s sharing this now to raise awareness to what happened and to just be transparent with everyone and not try and play victim. Brian sure is a role model to me in a lot of ways and I’m sure he is to a lot of you guys as well. God bless Brian! Praying for you and I’m so glad you’re better!

Sending you great wishes for a full and speedy recovery. I would share that you really have a beautiful family. Whether you are 5 times WSM or wouldn't even lift another weight, you are a great guy, a great dad, and a great husband.....and that is what really counts. Now get healthy, get home, and get strong...er than you have ever been! A little story, I had run the Las Vegas Marathon 16 consecutive times, but had a serious knee surgery, wore a brace, and hadn't run in 4 months. Finally, 19 days before the marathon I could run about 100 yards at a time, and see how things went, as I wanted to continue my streak. So I went from zero to 26.2 miles in less than three weeks, and ran my 17th consecutive Vegas marathon....without stopping. Yeah, that hurt! The knee was good, but after 6 miles, the rest of me wasn't, but, I just kept running and got to the line 20 miles later. Obviously you will do the best preparation and training that you can. The most important thing...is get out of the hospital healthy, and life will be good, particularly with having such a great family.

@VoiceOfTheSoul it can be as simple as a small cut. It's usually not something the patient did knowingly necessarily. Or just a bacterial infection. This is the reason for markings. So his physician can capture the spread rate from initial point of affected area.
