Great job with the different camera angles, and showing the rods movement, but also having a direct view of the waves. Felt like I was the one fishing from my desktop lol

How far out in the surf do you prefer to fish? Before the breakers, after?

I usually fish around high tide so it ranges from just off the beach to the first bar.

Headed to Kure beach next week. Supposed to turn off cold. Where and what would you suggest? If you are down that way, I hate fishing alone.

Hey dude, good luck. We have had multiple hurricanes since this video and the bars are jacked up right now. Your guess is as good as mine - I haven't been.

I struggled this year because I guessed the storm filled in the holes and I couldn't find sand bars, it made good surfing waves but I was told the red drum ran straight into the sounds and didn't hang around the surf long at all. Have you heard anything about why the drum fishing wasn't as good as years past. I understand it was good for a couple of weeks but didn't last. New subscriber from Lenoir Co. and enjoying your channel.

Thank you for the comment. I can't really speak from experience because Wilmington isn't known for the drum like the islands are up near Morehead or Hatteras. We catch them occasionally but we don't have the 5-10 fish nights like they do up there.

I thought there was a 2 rod limit when fishing NC surf, or did they change the rod limit.

I'm not aware of any limits and I have had rangers go by me 100 times.

went down to the beach to grab some sand fleas couple of days ago, came up empty, the few I found were way too small. Could have been my timing, tide was about 1/2 way out could have been because I was at the busiest section of WB even though it was 15 min before sunrise. any tips on getting some good live ones?

Go early and late to get them. We have struck out during the middle of the day.
