Why is everyone thanking only Avicii. This was a collaboration between Aloe Blacc and Avicii. We should both thank both artists for collabing this song. This is an acoustic version of Aloe Blacc even though they both worked on this. RIP Tim Berg (Avicii) for being an amazing and young legend of EDM and thank you Aloe For you amazing voice and talent🙏🏼

Because Avicii has a tragic story and as his fan I feel like I owe everything to him. And also, whilst Aloe wrote the lyrics and sang, my favourite part is the actual track. I'm not saying I don't like his voice, I love it, I just like the music more.

Most people probably don't know who Aloe Blacc is; most people probably don't know that he also worked on this song with Avicii; most people who do know him or have even heard of him probably don't know what a great talent he is. That needs to change. Aloe is so underrated. He has such an amazing voice and soft, well-spoken, inspirational words, but gets hardly any recognition. Aloe deserves to be one of the most admired musicians of his time. Rest in peace, Avicii. The whole world should give a standing ovation to Aloe & mourn the death of Avicii. Thank you, Aloe, for being such an admirable, aspiring, astonishing, amazing talent! And you, too, Avicii!

I have seen comments saying that Wake Me Up would be nothing without Aloe Blacc's vocals. Well that's still a compliment for Avicii. He picked his singer wisely and made a masterpiece from combining his music with Aloe's vocals. Avicii knew how to create music that could reach people's heart. To bad people never got to reach Avicii's heart. Rest In Peace Avicii

wake brother! Technically it’s not just his song, he’s only the vocals. Avicii and him collaborated on everything, Aloe is the vocals, Avicii did all the original beats, this is just an acoustic version

Okay to everyone who wants to start arguments over "whose song it is" it's Aloe Blacc, Avicii, and Mike Eizinger's collectively. Mike and Avicii came up with the chord progression and melody. And Aloe Blacc wrote all the lyrics. Avicii said in an interview with MTV "We came up with the chord progression and melody, but no real lyrics. None of us sing and we really needed to get that demo down and the only person I knew that lived in LA was Aloe, so I called him and he was free. Lyrics come really easy to him so he wrote them in a couple of hours and we finished the track." They recorded an acoustic version that night, and Avicii made the dance mix most people are familiar with a few days later. So give them both their dues. It's not one or the others song, it's both their song. And the Mike guy too🤣 So stop arguing and enjoy the good music.

without Avicii's music, this song would've been into oblivion like it was before that....look at how many people knew this song existed before Avicii remixed it? I think 2 years back I saw it had 4 million views? in contrast, Avicii had 1.5 billion....and in both songs, Aloee Blacc had his voice then why this song no one knew existed? why no one like this much? why everyone knows the Wake me up song by the name Avicii only? no one knew this was Aloe Blacc's voice ? Bottom line : everyone has content but how you market it and how you present it makes all the difference. This song you'll like when you're down and you want something soothing whereas that Avicii song can rock the entire party...that was the power of Avicii's music making capability....to turn an average song into an amazing one...same song same singer but one song no one knew....one song the entire world knows. In short : Aloee Blacc would've been nothing and would've been unrecognized without Avicii.

This isn't the original, avicii's version is: In an interview with the Daily Star, Avicii, who had previously labelled "Wake Me Up!" as "a fun experiment" during an exclusive chat with MTV UK,[10] said: "I had a demo with Mac Davis singing, the guy who wrote all the Elvis Presley stuff, but I needed another singer to do the parts. At the same time I was tipped off about doing another track with Aloe Blaccand I started working on that track. When I was with Mike Einziger from Incubus, we came up with the chord progression and the melody for 'Wake Me Up!' but no real lyrics. None of us sing and we really needed to get that demo down and the only person I knew that lived in LA was Aloe, so I called him and he was free. Lyrics come really easy to him so the two of us wrote them in a couple of hours and we finished the track."
