This is probably my favorite prenatal yoga class I've found on youtube in terms of the balance between strengthening/intensity and relaxation. It's great to have a more challenging option than the majority of prenatal classes, but also with lots of restorative segments. Thank you!

Great flow for prenatal - my only cautions would be to watch the planks if you're much past 20 weeks as it can worsen diastasis - and also avoid camel pose. No need for extra back extensions and more stress on belly!

This is the best pre-natal yoga class I have found yet- highly recommend for anyone in early 2nd trimester who still wants to have some challenges and feel incredible afterwards

Beautiful gentle sequence, I'm in my third trimester and I was able to modify where I felt necessary - plank on knees, softer camel pose without moving hands to heels etc. The key is to listen to your body, Andrea is also fantastic at reminding you to do that throughout the practice.

I absolutely love this class, I'm still doing it at 37 weeks (with some more modifications) - I love the respect for our changing bodies, the length and challenge, variety of poses, and how genuine and calming Andrea is!

I keep thinking I should diversify yet every time I do another pre-natal class I feel myself gravitating back to this one! It's just perfect for me. I love the flow, the hip operners, it's just wonderful! Now I bounce back and forth between the hour long and the half hour class. Thank you ALO!

Hi Andrea. I am now in the 36th week. I think for the 3rd trimester some exercises are very challenging. You should have a lot of experience and know your body well. For the 2nd trimester this unit would have been super for me, but now shorter and less challenging units are enough for me.

agreed. i think if she was pregnant while doing this, she would've not included some of the exercises. im in my 33rd week and I also don't feel like some of these were safe.

I was feeling sad to miss in person prenatal classes because of covid but this one was perfect!!! So hard to find longer prenatal flows, this one made me strong and feel so relaxed with the restorative poses at the end. I love the birth imagery. Thank you for your light and soothing voice Andrea! And thank you alo yoga for making this happen

Love this flow. I’ve been struggling trying to find a longer prenatal flow. This just convinced me to get alo moves. I’m only a few weeks in and need variations since I practice several times a week.

Have u been weaker in your arms or fatiguing earlier than you would prior to pregnancy?? I usually do very long hard ashtanga yoga but I can barely last 20 minutes now...I'm very healthy otherwise and cleared to exercise as usual by my MD. And I drink plenty of fluids lol.

Thank you so much! It really helped to ground me after a stressful week. I will be at 33 weeks tomorrow, and - AS YOU SAY SEVERAL TIMES IN THE VIDE0 - was able to adapt some poses like the plank, camel... anything that puts pressure in the abs basically. You are gorgeous, thanks for your work x

This was amazing, so far away from all those prenatal workouts that feel like only stretching! This yoga practice was both challenging and respectful of the pregnancy status! I will certainly return to it during this journey 😊

I really enjoyed this flow. Definitely added my own modifications as I'm not feeling as energetic as this lovely yoga teacher. My only constructive feedback is that I doubt the average person owns two blocks and a bolster at home. Would be nice to provide modifications if you don't have this equipment :-) Namaste!

That was my favorite prenatal class!! Loved the intensity and deep stretch!! I could have stayed in hip circles for 15 minutes, but I’m glad I stayed with the video. It was really the perfect balance of strength and softening. Also, loved the cues in yogi squat. Thank you!!

I appreciate that this is an old video, but there are some poses here which I really, really want to caution pregnant ladies against EVER doing (particularly beyond 20 weeks) - planking and camel. These moves put incredible strain on the linea alba (the connective tissue in between the muscles of the abdomen). The linea alba is already under a massive amount of strain and in most women actually separates during pregnancy causing something called Diastasis Recti. Diastasis Recti takes a long time to heal from and parenatal yoga should never include moves which would exacerbate this condition. Sorry Andrea...you need to research this a bit further. I was fairly surprised to see this in an Alo approved prenatal flow. Also...this flow spends a lot of time inverted - hello heartburn.

Completely agree. This class needs to be advertised and geared more towards first trimester and second trimester - not all trimesters. Seems as though she thought, “I’m pregnant so let me just teach prenatal!”

I think she added plenty of caveats and spaces for modifications. I’m 37 weeks and feeeeeeling it, but I was able to do 85% of the practice with modifications that I made as necessary.

Love this class. I love that it has tons of hip openers. I am finally feeling relief in my right hip. But is it just me or does she do the hip stretch with the assisted warrior three twice on one of the sides?

Wow this was a fantastic experience. I had to stop for breaks a few times because of so much damn fatigue on my part but it was challenging enough and nice and long, the perfect calm voice and sounds. Saving to my fave vids for pregnancy now. (I'm 8 weeks and usually do ashtanga)

I'm 30 weeks along and I loved this prenatal yoga because it wasn't too "easy". I could not do everything with my very wide "girl bump" and I can't lie on my back at all without getting nauseous so I skipped the end part of the flow but otherwise it was really lovely and my body was thanking me for doing this! Thank you!

I'm reading other comments after this flow. I'm 22 weeks pregnant and did not realize some poses we shouldn't do ( i did them). Also, commercials? I liked the flow but i cannot skip commercials every so often

Lovely class but just to let you know, when we have to do pink toe with pink toe, you have done twice on the left hand side, got confused first time but as I have watched this video many times now, I just do it once. Apart from that, I really enjoy this class. Would avoid stretching the belly too much after 20 weeks with the camel pose. Thanks for sharing it.

As an advanced trained prenatal yoga teacher I hear and see so many things wrong with this flow. Risky moves for pregnant women and she never stops talking. When do mama and baby have time during the practice to really connect and move inward? "I'm shaking, we're on it!" Really? Sorry, but I would not recommend this for any pregnant woman. Most of the students I get on their mats in my prenatal classes have never done yoga before. If I taught this way they would not return.

I agree with this! I practiced this flow and came to read the comments as I was surprised at how many dangerous and non-recommended postures were utilized. Surprised to see mostly positive comments.. it would be a great flow pre- or early very early pregnancy but cant see it as safe after that.

I really liked this class overall. I was surprised by the amount of planks (not recommended in pregnancy) and the camel pose. Would love more creative ideas for a truly prenatal class

The camel, plank, crossing back leg and CLOSE TWISTING 🙈, the crunch (tricep to elbow) and the moment Andrea tell us she's losing her balance and DON'T know why is a prove that she isn't prenatal yoga certified AT THAT moment. Your body changes a lot through pregnancy and one of them is gravity center on your body. I'm so sorry Andrea and Alo. I hope you guys doing better now, with more knowledge and education. Much love.

I'm used to doing really vigorous ashtanga 60-90minute videos...all of a sudden at 7-8weeks pregnant I'm too weak, my muscles fatigue, and I'm out of breath at 20 minutes in, so I stop. I'm healthy, labs are great...is it normal to feel this weak in my arms and muscles at this stage? I know blood flow and everything is reserved for uterus but damn. 🥵😑😔

I was very weak at that stage because I wasn't eating...I couldn't keep anything down. I think you just have to be prepared that everything is so different. I'm 25 weeks now and I feel a lot better, but my HR skyrockets so quickly, i've had to take things down a notch. good practice for letting go of ego and doing what feels good. Good luck!!

Very nice flow however... I think it is not for "every stage of pregnancy" especially third trimester where our belly is bigger and heavier and the already stress in our abdomen muscles is just enough that planks and camel pose is just not recommended. A lot more instruction and safety recommendations/coaching could have make it better and safer "for all".

Enjoyed the sequence, but this is not an appropriate class for prenatal... Considerations for those who want to continue practicing this class, but avoid a few of the poses that are contraindicated: - Deep backbends expanding the belly can exacerbate complications postpartum (avoid or significantly modify the camel pose) - Closed twists causing compression on the belly (instead make it an open twist, such as in the lunge with twist, just rotate the belly AWAY from the leg) - With a higher risk of incontinence during pregnancy, the frequent stepping forward and back with insufficient cueing is not appropriate for this population. Those who are peeing themselves during this practice (yes -- common), engage the pelvic floor as you step back/forward OR "waddle" your foot back
