NCT itself is like a branch or massive project, and they devided into multiple sub-units. they debuted on 2016. for now, they have 3 units, 1 project and 18 members. 1) NCT 127, 127 is longitude of Seoul. theyre the 1st unit that country-based group, consist of 10 members. they'll have another country-based group soon. china, thailand, vietnam, indonesia, south america is on the list. thats why the members are unlimited. 2) NCT Dream, its a unit only for under 18 yo members. for now they have 7 members but one of them are going to graduate next year since he's 19 now. 3) NCT U, or NCT United. its song-based group. everyone in NCT can join this unit if they matched with the concept of the song. thats why NCT U - Boss have 7 members but in NCT U - 7th Sense is only consist of 5 members. 4) NCT 2018, its 2018 project. for this year they have 18 members, and they have a song called Black on Black and all 18 members participated. yall should check them out w their dance practice too! its lit!! to put it simple, NCT is resemble a magazine. NCT is the future of kpop

ALRIGHT well i'll explain this as best as i can: NCT has no limit of members. people will always be added to NCT. the only time we've seen all the members (18 of them) together on one stage is during their NCT 2018 promotions for the album NCT 2018 Empathy, in which each subunit put out a new song and then they came together to perform the song black on black. into subunits, where we'll start with U since that's who this video is about: NCT U is a rotational unit. meaning, whichever concept that SM (their company) wants to try, they'll pick the NCT members that fit that concept the best. so bottom line: U has no fixed members. you'll see some of the same people pop up in U because they "fit the concept", though. i believe the U is for "universal" but someone correct me if i'm wrong. for U i recommend baby don't stop & without you NCT 127 is the only "fixed" unit, as far as the fans know. members can be added but none will leave. what i mean is they debuted with 7 members with the song "firetruck", added 2 more to make 9 with their comeback "limitless", and just added one more to make 10 with their most recent comeback "regular". 127 is the unit that's super hip hop oriented and pretty much put out bangers left and right lol (minus one lighthearted song they did for the 2018 promos). 127 is the area code for seoul, meaning they're beginning where kpop originated and trying to branch out to the rest of the world from there. for 127 i'd recommend limitless (perf ver), cherry bomb, and regular (either the english or korean version is fine). onto NCT DREAM. all of these boys are underaged, and are geared towards the younger age group (though a lot of people love them bc they're so cute lol). regarding members, this is also rotational in a sense, but not for every comeback. think of it as a "graduation". once a boy hits legal age they graduate from DREAM and move onto other subunits. the youngest in DREAM is currently 16. i don't know if this is the formal explanation, but i always thought they were named DREAM bc of how lighthearted and happy their music is (minus one song they released for the 2018 promos that's more 127-like). for DREAM i recommend my first and last, we go up, and go. i hope this helped!! i did my best but feel free to ask questions if you have any. :)

So NCT is Neo Culture Technology and can be composed of an unlimited number of members. Each subunit has a distinct vibe and demographic target that sets each subunit apart. So far we have 4 subgroups and an upcoming 5th one on the way end of the year. NCT U - the U stands for United. This is the foundation subunit, all members of this unit can be subbed out for new ones, and has infinite rotations of member combinations. "The 7th Sense" was their debut song and had 5 members, "Without U" and "Timeless" had 3 members (2 of them from The 7the Sense + 1 new member), "BOSS" had 7 members (4 from "The 7th Sense", + 1 member from NCT127 + 2 new members) and "Baby Don't Stop" had 2 members from "The 7th Sense". NCT127 - 127 is the longitudinal degree of Seoul, and their concept is the encompass the trends of Seoul. They debuted with "Firetruck" with 7 members (3 from "The 7th Sense + 3 new members), then "Limitless" with 9 members (1 from NCT U and 1 new member), then "Cherry Bomb" and "Touch" (still the same 9 members). Recently they released "Regular" and added 1 member from NCT U. NCT DREAM - all the members are 20 years old and younger and they represent the dreams of the youth. They have a graduation system, where once a member turns 20, they graduate from the group and new members that meet the age requirement can join. This group has been the most consistent in terms of members, as there was no change since their debut, but 1 members was injured and did not promote for 2 comebacks, and recently 1 member turned 20 and will be graduating. They released "Chewing Gum", "My First and My Last", "We Young", "Go" and most recent comeback (and last with these 7 members) "We Go Up". NCT2018 - this is comprised of all members introduced thus far from all subunits above (18 members). They released "Black on Black" from the Empathy album. NCT CHINA (rumoured name NCT VISION) will be debuting end of 2018, beginning of 2019. They target the Chinese market is composed of mainly Chinese members (member line up is still unknown).

The flexible one, in 7th Sense, that did a lot of the rap, is Mark Lee, from Canada. He’s in NCT127, some U and NCT Dream. Although, as he’s older, he will no longer do new NCT Dream, but you never know, Mark Lee is everywhere.

The members in NCT is unlimited, but they're divided into several subgroups depending on the concept/age etc. You can see NCT as a brand name under which all groups promote under. It is a very smart strategy, as the new members joining it will already have some sort of recognition/hype because of branding. Currently there are 4 subunits. NCT 2018 is the whole group as of 2018 (18 members). NCT U is a rotational unit; its lineup changes with the concept they fit. NCT 127 is a fixed unit of 10 members and represents the sound of Seoul. There’s 3 subgroups all under the name NCT (a group where there’s unlimited members), but I’m guessing every year from now that they’ll come together as one and make a single together hence they’re single “Black on Black” where all 18 members are present. NCT 127 originally was a 7 member group in their first debut but added 2 more members and this year another this year so that makes them 10 members. NCT Dream is the younger members usually in their teenage years. They are 7 members, 2 of the members are in NCT 127, they usually have a more cuter or softer I guess you could say concept that makes them Dream but you never know they might switch up and go for a more harder concept. When a member in dream hits their 20’s I’m pretty sure they’re no longer in dream and they’ll move up into NCT U idk whether or not they’ll be in NCT 127. NCT U is a rational group where any of the members could have a single in but then not be in the next comeback if that makes sense. 3 of the members are just in NCT U they don’t appear in Dream nor 127. So members can just come and go in NCT U. NCT U was first to debut, then 127, then Dream. It’s said that 3 new members will be added into NCT in the future and mostly will be China originated and is rumored to have ANOTHER sub group called NCT China which’ll only have the Chinese members. :)) I think I got everything if not someone let me know

Thanks for reacting to NCT. So far I guess you have grasped the main point of their concept. Unlimited number of members divided into numerous subgroups. We've got: + NCT Dream - the teenage unit consisting of all the teenage members of NCT, + NCT U - which is a rotational unit, so technically everyone is a part of U but only the members that suit the particular song and concept participate in it. You guys might have already noticed the different number of members in the 2 videos you've reacted to. + And then we've got the units based in various cities/countries worldwide. So far only NCT 127, the Seoul based unit (127 is the longitude of Seoul) has debuted but there are plans of other units debuting soon, namely NCT China that is set to debut by the end of this year. So you can tell this is quite the beginning of this huge project. They have plans to expand into Japan, Thailand, America, South America etc... Also, Boss was actually filmed in Ukraine.

Uhhh for me.... Just think of it like this, you know how other kpop groups start with a big group (like EXO) and then eventually they will form a subgroup (like EXO CBX) ... For NCT they will debut with different sub units first，and maybe there is a chance where all the sub unit members can perform together (like what happened for the 1st time this year where NCT 2018 promoted with all the current 18 NCT members)... Eventually they will add other members and yet again form more units and maybe with the additional members, they can promote again as a whole group ( imagine the amount).... STILL, THE WHOLE GROUP IS CALLED "NCT" AND IT HAS MANY BRANCHES....

Please listen to Loona! They have an extensive discography full of different genres of music brought to us by their 4 sub-units. They also have a very intricate story line they tell through their music videos in a hidden message sort of way that helps tie the members together, leaving the fans to put the pieces together. They recently debuted as an all 12 member group, releasing “Hi High”. Please check out any of their songs and I’m sure you guys will find a favorite. They’re a group that really has a lot to offer.
