In terms of the "fight" the anime does better but in LN you feel more Alpha's frustration towards Cid for always taking action for himself and keeping her apart despite her best efforts

FR. I think it’s because of the pacing, but the main point why Alpha was hurting so much went over the head of anime viewers. “This was the best choice” I dont think the significance of this line was emphasized enough. But what it meant in the LN is that Cid abandoning Shadow Garden is the best choice. Shadow Garden has served its purpose and isnt needed anymore by Cid this was the fact that was running on Alpha’s mind as she said “dont leave me…”

She is certainly stronger than Delta and in the manga this is clear as she was able to deal much better with the wire attacks and he had to defend physically.

Prefer the manga tbh. The way alpha lands the strike on his mask to reveal Shadow's eyes. The way Shadow compliments her for her massive improvement after successfuly scratching him. And the way Alpha tries to reach out to Shadow while she was going unconscious saying "There you go again, turning your back from me" as if signaling this wasn't the first time she ever felt useless to him hits harder.

The fight was really amazing but Alpha got taken down very quickly. In the manga she managed to get a scratch on John Smith. John Smith is a badass. He literally just pushed her off the train with his attack. I do feel bad for her cause Shadow was the one who saved her life and she’s willing to do anything to stay by his side and she doesn’t understand why Shadow would do this but don’t worry Alpha, all will be answered soon

She did more than scratch him in the anime. I want to say all that blood was from Cid. Tho I can’t say for certain if he was using fake blood like he normally does when he does Mob-fu. But the end result didn’t change.

Tbf, Beatrix is way older than her, and obviously have way more experience. It's not even something bad to be weaker than probably one of the strongest swordmaster in the world. But I am sure the current Alpha is at least close to Beatrix, if not already surpassed her since she isn't only talented with sword, but also magic as well

I've already read the story but it still shows how much of a powerhouse cid is. Alpha is probably the second strongest person in the world and Cid just toys with her and makes it look easy. I do wish they showed a bit more of the manga stuff, like Cid smiling and telling her she's became strong before knocking her out. I do love the John Smith arc in the reading and so far the anime is good too but does feel a touch lacking honestly. Almost seems too rushed.

Alpha is very strong but I doubt she's the second strongest, especially when beings like Aurora and Elizabeth exist. Though, I dunno how Elizabeth would fare without the buff from the blood moon.

Not the strongest, when you see beings like Aurora, Elizabeth, or Later Ragnarok and Fenrir In terms of strength Shadow Garden it's pretty similar to cult, even when Shadow Garden have better "soldiers" like the numbers the most powerfull beings of the cult could easilly destroy them even the Shades, but for their luck Cid's Antics always force the balance to their favor

How is that better? Cid was *actually bleeding* in this fight compared to the manga where he only got a scratch and a cracked mask. Throughout this scene we clearly see Alpha keeping up with Cid's attacks no problem. We don't need to hear him say "you've gotten strong" when we as the viewer can clearly see that throughout the fight. I am genuinely confused why people are pushing this take because it's the embodiment of an oxymoron.

In the manga,Cid actually got caught off guard by Alpha which is a huge accomplishment considering how powerful Cid is. Hence why Cid expressed his admiration and praise for Alpha,the Manga follows the LN more closely than the anime so that is the best advantage it has over the anime. The anime is taking way too much liberties,which cheapens many key moments in the story. Take the recent episode for example,the part were Ragnarok gets summoned is trash in the anime while its badass in the manga...the thing is a lame Mecha Godzilla wannabe in the anime while in the manga and LN is a black flesh and blood demon in the form of a dragon,this season has been simply mid compared to the first one. I´ve pretty much never read a manga panel in my life, but back when they released record of ragnarok season 1, after finishing that I went on youtube to take a peak of the 4th fight, and found a video with all the panels and added dramatic music, and quite enjoyed it, still I prefer anime. Its just not the same without the voices and movement
