I love how Wolfe's POV he's talking Alpharad up like after their loss they all started scheming and came up with the perfect plan knowing that Absol was the only pokemon in game that could kill the jungle before Greedent could get there and was a well thought out big brain counterpick. In reality its just haha Absol my favorite and we don't have any idea how to win so might as well have fun.

Actually Absol is the counter pick for the greedent counter jungle strat so if he had picked Absol earlier the could have won the first match against them

@@bloodninja2517 Greedant strategy is Greedant rushing enemy spawn for experience while another teammate takes jungle on your side. Greedant can go fast and take stuff easily. If you want to save your own jungle experience, you have to either time your attacks on the jungle or do quick high damage numbers on your own jungle so you can take from Greedant. It's always the last hit that counts

@@bloodninja2517Its basically Greedent rushing to the enemy team's jungle and stealing all the farm/wild mons, not letting the enemy jungler get any experience and hence effectively making them useless and effectively non-existent in the team, thus turning the game into a 4v5 for the enemies. While some other pokémon can also do this well, Greedent has been infamous for how effectively he can do it Absol is one of the jungler mons who can get all the jungle farm before Greedent can show up, making the jungle invade fail for Greedent and quickly kill greedent without much problem. Which is why Alpha's Absol pick was a great counter to Wolfey's jungle invading shenanigans (even tho he only picked Absol cuz he likes the mon)

This makes me wanna start playing again. I played a ton early on when Unite released, and it was a lot of fun, but then my team kinda split up and stopped playing. I remember playing vs streamers and the world's top rated people. Such a satisfying game when you pull off a win vs those people. Playing soloq is probably gonna be rage inducing like any other competitive game though :/

Wolfe really made it seem like alpha choosing absol was a strategic decision made by the entire team to counter skwovet, but now I see that it was actually just alpha not getting to play absol and wanting to do so for the final match. Wolfe's video was talking about how tackle's low cooldown made skwovet the only pokemon to be able to reach the opposite jungle before the jungler could ko anything, and how absol was the only pokemon that could ko ludicolo before skwovet could reach, and alpha's video is just "hmm, I feel like playing absol."

It's so funny seeing this video after Wolfey's. Jacob's commentary really makes him seem like the villain but all he did was use an unexpected strat and lose only a single match to, well, Jacob's sneaky counter strat lol.

The greedant strat just made this so fun to watch. He used something that was not common and it threw everyone off. Even to the point the teams said screw the win and all chased the rat just wanting to kill it.

They’re currently doing a “unite nuzlocke,” where they try to get to masters in unite but if they lose a game they can no longer use the pokemon they were playing.

The Squirrel is a dirty thief and was absolutely hilarious to watch. For sure thrived due to best of 1, though suffered cause the finals were also best of one and you got to Absol counter w/o chance of counter-response later.

i was watching this live and was rooting for team pikachu, and i was hoping the entire time there would be an Absol game its my main and would absolutely love to see it being played, so i got really conflicted in who to root for in the end 😂 this was a lot of fun to watch and see how all these different kinds of streamers came together and played this game. hopefully there will be more tournaments like this in the future!

I love how Jacob plays risky with cinderace, despite it probably being the most frail out of all the playable pokemon. Also absol specializes in taking out opponents that are running away, countering wolfey

What I already love about this is the fact that all of the names for the teams are a mixture of NFL team logos and names with Pokémon names and I love that because I’m a huge football fan
