Alpine Circuit, Lake O'Hara, Yoho National Park

On August 6, 2022, we hiked the Alpine Circuit at Lake O'Hara. We also had to walk in the 11km fireroad, as we did not have bus tickets!
The day was spectacular with optimal weather and bluebird skies. We were able to catch the bus after our long day of hiking, which meant we did not have to hike the last 11km out back to the parking.

I did not get a spot on the shuttle bus to lake o hara, I wanted to do this hike ! Am I crazy to be able to do the 22km hike back and forth from the lake + the alpine circuit in one day 🥴

Not crazy at all! That was our plan too and we got lucky and took the Parks Canada bus out. If they have room on the bus they will take you out, but you have to pay $10 in CASH and be ready at the bus stop when the bus comes. They will not wait! Good luck and let me know how it goes.

It was hard because we had to walk 11km and 400m elevation on the road just to get to the trailhead... so you do a 2 hour workout before you even start the hike!! But I would most definitely do it again. 🙂🙂
