My buddy and I are checking out the brand new Leavenworth Adventure Park in Leavenworth, WA. The highlight of the park is the Alpine Coaster.

Cool video. I camped on top of that hill where the coaster is the whole summer of 1995, worked across the street at the gas station. Those were the days, dirt bag rock climber and ski bum at Steven's Pass.

I love Alpine Coasters! The first one I ever experienced was in Vilseck Germany while going through an Army Small Arms Maintenance course. Then back in Fall 2019 I road tripped traveled through 9 states East of Colorado and once I got to the Eastern Tennessee Gatlinburg town area in the Smokey Mountains there are like 2-3 dozen of the Alpine Coasters and I did about a dozen of them. So much fun!

I’m disappointed to learn that Washington States first Alpine Coaster is so small. Oh well it’s a good beginning. There’s a mountain south east of downtown Leavenworth with a road on top called Nighthawk Ridge Lane that would have been perfect for a long Alpine Coaster. Someday I will still ride it as I have never been on an Alpine coaster. I have tried that trampoline with the bungee cords attached to a harness on your waist while visiting in Whistler Village, British Columbia, Canada.
@GeorgiannaMartin11 ай бұрын
How was your bungee plunge?
@markvanyo430211 ай бұрын
@@GeorgiannaMartin In my earlier message I was talking about jumping on a trampoline with bungee cords attached to me at the hips to give the jumper way more bounce. At Whistler Village the elevation is 2,200 feet (670 meters) and I tired out very quickly jumping on a trampoline. I am used to living near sea level. The trampoline is next to the Blackcomb Mountain Gondola. Speaking of bungee. I did make one leap from the Whistler Bungee Bridge. It was the sixth time in my life I did a bungee jump and frankly it is thrilling but it’s over and done with so fast I wish there was a little more. Maybe a longer free fall or something like that. I weigh 195 pounds (88 kilograms) and get about five or six rebounds hanging from the cord and then I’m just hanging there waiting for them to lower the climbing rope with carabiner attached to pull me back up to the bridge deck.

That has to be the same maker and installer that did the Canyon Coaster in Williams AZ. Just went on that about a month ago, and it was fun, but the chicanes were a bit rough. I couldn't leave it flat out no brakes the whole time, as I felt like I had to balance concentrating on keeping tension in my arms to hold the levers down vs just having fun and going with the motion.

I was really skeptical about this installation but now that it’s done, I really like the experience it provides visitors to my area. It’s close to an arcade so it feels like an extension of a favorite gathering place for events, it utilizes a hill that sits close enough to walk from front street, and didn’t sacrifice much for locals. The coaster is not noisy, some of us were concerned it would be a constant noise that would frighten wildlife and be annoying to listen to for long periods, but it is far quieter than the highway. I really like that this provides accessible fun to people who may not be comfortable or able to do things like ski or hike into the enchantments! I would like to see Leavenworth expand in more ways that do not exclude locals or damage their favorite places. I think they need to bring the big renaissance faire back, I think they need to get a log rolling event going down at blackbird. And they need to bring back Krampusnacht and do something fun for Halloween for adults that isn’t all Oktoberfest

We just got one of these in Williams Arizona, which I saw on another video. Leavenworth must be a great backdrop--my Dad used to love going there when he had to fly to Seattle while working for the government. I went on something similar, an alpine slide that was at Boreal Ridge ski park in California just past Donner summit. That had no rails guiding the kart--it was just a cement track with banked turns and drops of about the same steepness, so brakes had to be applied to avoid going too high up in the bank. Fun video to watch, enjoyed your commentary!

The world and everything in it is passing away and everyone will be Judged according to what they have done. The wrath of our Heavenly Father GOD is almost here, repent of your sins in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and put your faith in Jesus Christ only. The only one who can save you from death is Jesus Christ The Son of GOD, every knee will bow to Him. Our Lord Jesus Christ is coming soon. Matthew 24:3-14 3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” 4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Everything written is being fulfilled. Revelation 12:1-2 1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. Time is over, repent of your sins, the only way to salvation is Jesus Christ, trust Him and have faith in Him. We are going to be taken up to The Lord. Woe to the nuclear families separated at the time of separation. Mathew 24:29-31 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days: ‘The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.’ 30 At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. 31 And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him. ” Information: Links about the sacrifice. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g7yggrlq2MmtZ30.htmlsi=jYHxjYTEqjI3FlQH kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oNedpbh9ld6tp4U.htmlsi=6iORDjxoh2LIN4lH Do not let anyone mark your skin or brand you. Do not let anyone put anything inside your skin. The government will deceive you, and your soul is in danger of death, do not take the mark of the beast. I sincerely warn you , flee as far as you can from the mark of the beast , do not take it. There is no coming back from it. Revelation 13:15-17 15 The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. 16 It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name. Revelation 14:9-11 9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand, 10 the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out unmixed into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.” Do not take the mark of the beast. Taking that mark will put your soul to death for eternity. Run away from it. 2 Thessalonians 2:5-12 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. DO NOT BELIEVE ON THOSE THINGS YOU SEE ON TV AND THOSE (UFO 🛸 objects), THOSE THINGS ARE PART OF THE GREAT DELUSION, DO NOT BELIEVE ON WHAT THEY COME UP WITH SAYING ABOUT IT. PUT YOUR FAITH AND TRUST IN JESUS CHRIST ONLY, THE CHURCH IS ABOUT TO GO HOME AND WHOEVER TELLS THE LIE WILL MOST LIKELY BLAME THOSE THINGS FOR OUR DISAPPEARANCE. The people, have been lied to their whole lives about the truth. I have warned you ahead of time. We are entering into 7 years of wrath upon the whole earth. No man has ever seen the disaster that will arrive now. The RAPTURE of The Church is about to happen. Do not be left behind. REPENT OF YOUR SINS. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life, HE is the door to heaven! , put your faith and trust in Him. Be ready, watch carefully. God bless the Nation of Israel and God bless you, may The Lord keep you and your family safe , in Jesus' name. Amen.

Is it possible you remember one in Massachusetts around Holyoke? I'm a roller coaster hobbyist & went to Mountain Park in Holyoke in 1982 on my first coaster trip & remember there was a trough-style alpine slide such as you describe. I recall it was quite popular among coaster enthusiasts of the time. There are several trough-style alpine slides in the U.S. In fact, that style is still manufactured by ADG, who also build alpine/mountain coasters (but not the one in this video, it's a different manufacturer, Wiegand).

@@crooked-halo That's the one! It was like a ½hr drive from the house I grew up in. In fact I set the fastest time going down it but like typical dumbass kid I wasn't wearing long pants. There was this one part I came halfway of the track on my right. Nearly the entire right side of thigh had (my guess) 2nd degree burn. I couldn't keep the leg extended so the way cause it hurt like hell. Mom, who was an RN told to keep soaking it in the pool because of the chlorine. As it was healing my mom told me I better extend it or it will pose a bigger problem. It was around 60% healed so I was in the pool and getting myself psyched up. I extended my leg all the way and talking about pain. All that new skin being ripped, shredded, snapped, or whatever. Had to wear an ace bandage for five weeks since I literally tore right through all the layers. Several random areas tiny holes. I don't even have the scar anymore. Fun but WAY too short. If you're going to ride one of these, it should be built at a ski resort, so you have a decent ride down the mountain. Also, you're locked in to that rail, and strapped to the sled, so no amount of speed will throw you, which is why I prefer alpine slides, where the sled goes down what is basically a big gutter, and you're not locked in. I legit caught air on the last one I rode. The ride down took a good 15 minutes, and that was going quick but not screaming down speed.

Did you really feel the need to include the hipster vaping at the beginning?

Do you really feel the need to be bothered by someone vaping in a video so much that you _comment_ about it? Shall he smoke a cigarette instead? Oh, wait! That's not "hipster." How about he bong out? _That's_ "hipster!"

Thumbs 👍 just in case you die...got it! Looks a little short for probably what they're charging.

Lol thanks! Definitely a bit short but it’s the only one in Washington and you can buy 3 rides for $20, so not a horrible deal

Dude!!! Thanks for the ride! But IMO, from Seattle , it’s ruining the beautiful wilderness. They should have picked a different town. Leavenworth is too nice for an “Adventure Park”. We stayed at The Post hotel. Highly recommended. No screaming kids. No photos. One of the best views in WA, and beautifully decorated. The bath tub in the room and hotel Spa were my favorite! 🛁 🌲🏔⛰🏔🐾🦊 Definitely coming back in the winter for girls trip & Dog sledding!🐕🐕🐕🐕 Perfect spot if you love the mountains! Don’t forget about bakery & gingerbread!!!❤️ 🇨🇭 🇩🇪 🇦🇹

Entertainment parks and attractions of the semi-permanent, gaudy variety, along with alpine/mountain coasters, tend to crop up around beautiful natural areas where tourists and their wallets congregate. Gatlinburg, TN, Branson, MO, Glenwood Springs, CO, Mount Hood etc.
