We had a great time testing these boots over the last year and they're among my favorite boots ever, however they have one major flaw! If you live in an area that sees any sort of moisture of damp riding conditions, the boots' lack of moisture protection is worth noting. They do offer incredible comfort, peg feel, and mobility in a slim and good looking package, and those are just some of the reasons I love these boots as much as I do.

I believe there is 2 different tech 7 enduro boots. One has a water proof liner and the 2nd does not.

I have Gaerne now and can’t shift toe is too fat I’ve tried different levers and it’s too high or too low so I’m going to try the tech 7, thanks for the video

It took them long enough to put the drystar membrane in the tech7. I love mine but the protection is lacking a bit. Next boots are Gaerne SG 22 goretex for me

I love my Gaerne's. Definitely my go to boots for most days. These are great for lighter duty days.

@TheLoamWolf my tech 7s do feel great to ride in. I've never worn a boot more comfortable. I've tried most. boots except for the Leatt 5.5 and I don't have a desire to buy those .

Tech 7 is the boot to get if you have to get Alpinestars. I liked the tech 10 more and that it was made in Croatia but didn’t like the inner bootie. Settled on a Gaerne boot.

Thanks for the feedback. Do love my Gaerne's as well but I look forward to spending more time in these new Sidi boots I got as they may be the perfect blend between the two... Hopefully I can get my fitment issues sorted out.

@@raceofrobots9152 That kinda depends on your riding style/terrain etc. But for off road use and longevity I'd go TA. The more I've ridden the Crossfire 2's, the more I like them.

There IS a trick to totally water proof boots, if you go thru a creek and water goes over the top of the waterproof boot? That water is there to stay. Its waterproof from the inside also. And takes for ever and a day to dry. And is 100% sealed so on a hot day, its even hotter than a normal boot. Personally I dont want any more tread on the boot than the MX version has, if you slap your foot out in a clutch situation? And that treaded sole grabs the ground, it can turn your knee into an ornamental piece of your body. Its why flattrackers have steel shoes, you want your foot to slide if it hits the ground. Yes I destroyed a knee using vibram treaded boots. It hurt a lot, Now I have a Ti knee.

I have these boots and have walked through creeks with my feet not getting wet.. I literally waked across just to know if my feet would get wet , my feet were dry .

By "Water resistant" they may mean the materials won't be damaged by water. By that definition a sieve is "water resistant". I have a new pair of Tech 7 Enduro boots in the box. Thinking of returning them for Drystars but then I worry if my feet will get too hot?

We’ve been riding the DryStars and they do seem better at blocking moisture. It is cold right now so not sure how hot they’d be in summer but we’re guessing marginally.

@@TheLoamWolf Thanks, I have returned the regular Tech 7 Enduros and am waiting for Drystars to come in. I don't care if my feet get wet if I put my foot into a river, but don't want wet feet riding through some wet grass and shallow puddles. To try and figure how water would get into the regular Tech 7s I hit the toe area with an air gun and you can feel air flowing through to the inside of the boot. I am not sure (and don't take my word for it) but I think it flows through the suede type material around the foot and toe area, which I guess would be nice when you want ventilation. It may also come in where the lowest strap enters the boot and maybe under the flap under the lowest buckle.

I have some Drystar Corozals. I like them but they are HOT in the summer, so yes, Drystar does not breathe as well as Goretex. Good excuse to have several pairs of boots.

I think you're right! That would be a very long episode...California is huge and there are tons of places to ride from Arcata and the Redwoods to Death Valley to San Diego.

@@TheLoamWolf I'm just looking into dirt biking and I'm 14 trying to get a bike, my dad thinks there are no places to go but this video would be good to help me out and I'm sure a bunch of other kids trying to convince their parents.

We love them for riding in. If you're hiking more than 50 feet, I'd say no.

How is the arch support? I ask because I have really high arches.

Well, I've got a medium height arch so I may not be the best to answer but I find them to be very comfortable. I've also had some boots I put inserts in, which I didn't have to do with these. I much prefer the newer All Weather version for wetter climates though.

Darn I got these because they were supposed to be water resistant. Hopefully I can figure out a way to make them a little better at that before winter!
