It’s certainly cosy. I think bivis are best used with a tarp. I’ve got a DD super light 2.8m x 1.5m. The bivi is full waterproof but a tarp gives you another skin and a sheltered cooking area. You can get a bivi pitched almost anywhere and more stealthy. I think these windy conditions are the future. An Elan will beat a Hilleberg for windy conditions. Thanks for commenting.

Yes. I think it may be better to peg the outer separately from the inner to allow breathing space between the two. It’s not as good as the MLD Duomid but a decent tent at a third the price. Thanks for your comment.

I think it’s a good buy for the money. Easy to pitch. I’ve got another alpkit tent and the material is high quality. I’ve got a dodgy knee at the moment so not so agile🤨Cheers mate.

Is this tent more wind stable than lanshan 2? I think it should be,bcs of 1 peak..

I’ve never used a Lanshan so I can’t compare, I’ve had one Tarpstar in 30 mph and it was a bit flappy but it didn’t fail. I try to pitch behind a wall or a crag if it’s windy, but it’s so light and very easy to pitch.

Would you say this would stand up to driving rain given the inner sides aren’t high.

It’s 3000 hydrostatic head. It’s pretty good in the rain. It hasn’t leaked. It’s a 3 season shelter. It won’t take a full on storm but I think it’s not bad.

The bathtub sides on the inner are at least 4 inches high. If you would be unlikely to be engulfed unless you had pitched in a lake.
