Hi Chris! As others have mentioned, it looks like your camera may have had auto white balance and auto iso turned off. As you move forward, to keep everything consistent, it will be a good idea to manually set the values for ISO and White Balance. Some search terms you can use on KZfaq would be, “How to film in Manual Mode”, “How to Color Correct”, or “How to Color Match”. I'm confused. Shouldn't the wall below the bottom of the screens be identical to highlight the fact that you are using the SAME exposure and white balance on both captures?

So compared to most of these on the cheaper end, my matte lvl 2 Grey wall always looks better to me, and the brightness is league's better. Fresnel screens are where it's at, if you can find a good one. The formovie screen is STUPENDOUSLY BRIGHT, while finally beating out my wall, but doesn't come nearly as large as my wall which is 22x16

Great job on the video. My guess is that the settings on your camera were set to auto for ISO and white balance. If set to manual, then the lighting should have remained the same for both shots.

Can you use laser pointer with ALR screen for powerpoint presentation? I can not find answer to this question. It's most important factor for me.

Great video mate, now it would be interesting to compare ALR screen with a white paint wall (or standard screen) but in a room with black mat walls ans ceiling, in this configuration i'm not sure the ALR screen improved anything!? WOW... this has shook me deeply. Always thought it is some sort of a marketing gimmick with all these overpriced ALR and CLR screens but damn,.... this blows my mind.

The difference i see is that in White projection it throws out more lights to the side, and the Alr Black screen focuses to keep it from washing out to the sides and directly to viewers

How thick is a screen like this? From the wall to the front of the screen. I'm trying to figure out the exact ceiling placement for a UST I ordered. (Screen will come later)

why is the wall and the surrounding so much bright on the comparisons? for me looks like you pulled high the brightness on the takes without screen. I mean if you are in the same room with the same light, why is the color of the wall underneath the projection so different? again for me the camera setup was not consistent between takes.

In the comparison videos, surely the wall's colour should remain the same, but in your videos the wall colour below the projected image is significantly different, much more washed out on the right - presumably your camera's exposure is making the difference much more noticeable? I find it hard to trust your results to be honest.

$1000 seems a lot of money for like, a bit of vinyl that's had a sawtooth die pushed into it.

i can tell, that theres a significant difference between wall and the screen. but you should have recordedr both with the exact same camera settings. your shutter or iso is set up different in the comparison shots. great review though!

The way a camera records the light is completely different to how our eyes see light. These video comparison shoots in the dark are not how the picture is seen by our eyes🤔

Dude. Your projector is in dynamic(Bright) mode on the right side: 05:36. Red weapon is painted yellow because of that. (Red+Green = Yellow) And at the lit environment lighing is not equal. 07:32 Footage with ALR screen is in less ambient light environment. Looks like on the right its 100% and on the left its 50%. and again 11:32 - dynamic (Bright) mode on the right.

ES do a good job in Marketing but the screens are the same as the cheaper ones in the market so nothing outstanding - curious if they use CBSP or the lower BSP Material quality from Taiwan...

Yeah thanks but no thanks. I thought something was edited/processed in post, and then it really popped at about the 6:40 mark. Does your room autofocus and get darker for the ALR half of the screen? Show us an actual side by side comparison or you'll find a lot of people unfollowing. This hopefully was an "honest" mistake to make the ALR screen pop. For reference, I own a BENQ 7050i UST projector on a flat white wall, and 4K is glorious in a near-dark/dark room. Like take your breath away, staring at the image from a foot away and being gobsmacked at the detail, glorious. Either this projector sucks or something is really off in post-production to make the "4K" image look so washed and out of focus.

OMG, what kind of projector is this, my old shitty Epson 3LCD projector has a much nicer image on a white wall than the one shown here on the right side... :)

Total waste of time... the right side room lighting is too bright in all the comparisons... very bad comparison.... room light should be constant on both the sides only the projector output should have the differences.

The wall around the screen should have been identical all the time which isn’t (by far) the case. Looks like a rubbish comparison
