Wildcat was installed in 1980 by Lift Engineering Yan replacing another double chair built in 1950. It serves mostly its own pod though the lower terrain can be accessible from Collins/Sugarloaf. Wildcat also like Collins also provides more advanced-skier access to Snowbird via the Blackjack Return or Westward Ho trails. The lift itself is a bit rare Yan, center-pole double, but unlike other center-poles, the poles on Wildcat is located behind on the seat and the chair railings are a bit like rubber seat-belts. The only other install of this kind used to be the next-door Collins Double, now in Showdown Montana as Sluice Goose Caboose. Wildcat is such a cool vintage lift and I do feel like its days are numbered as Alta will continue on with their master plan replacing this lift with a Detachable Quad in a few years.
