I own 2. The ipx rating state 3.3ft for 30 minutes. That is what altec is comfortable with. I've had mine in the pool for hours and I've taken it to at least 4ft deep many times. It survived being our frisbee playing ultimate frisbee in kayaks on a river. Including getting knocked out of the air more then once with paddles. But, did not survive blasting music art -30°F. The members around the speaker cover got brittle.

No longer carry that speaker at my Walmart. Talked to Lansing rep he needed a receipt to be able to help me. Bought the speaker 11/16/2018, not that old really. Don't have that receipt. Working on getting my receipt reprinted. Thanks for your quick response.

I have a couple of these and they handle my downtempo, metal and classical music without distortion. They get reasonably loud, certainly room-filling, but there don't seem to be any exact specs on the wattage for these things anywhere (My guess would be around 15-20W). Bass is a bit weak, but that's to be expected from something with such small drivers. Additionally, it's possible to pair two of these together for stereo sound. If portable sound quality is the highest concern, I would pass this speaker over and look for something else. What sold me is the durability and "everything-proof" claim since I frequently take them to the beach.

Does this get pretty loud like if u had 20 people at your house can you still hear it loudly over chatter?
