Almost all scenes in Beast Machines with Botanica 17:56
They made Rattrap too weak in Beast Machines. Kathleen Barr, the voice actor for Botanica also voice another green character, Dot Matrix in ReBoot which was also made by the same studio as Beast Machines.

Does anybody else but, me think Rattrap's love/hate relationship with Botanica is similar to his love/hate relationship with Dinobot back in the Beast Wars?

We need more techno organic transformers. Botanica and Sari Sumdac are our only real examples. Also, FIM fans, here's something to blow your minds. Botanica is voiced by one Kathleen Barr. AKA, the actress who plays Queen Chrysalis.

I remember there was a lot of controversy about Botanica back in the day. well, there was controversy about almost every single decision made in beast machines, but that's beside the point. looking back with more clarity and less fresh Beast Wars obsession blinding me I really appreciate more and more what BM was going for and the designs of the characters. One thing I always liked though was the look of the show. Always thought it had a nice clean and cohesive look to it.

She did state that her team were all plant-based. So there is potential if they ever reveal her past mates. Most likely in the comics, rather the movie or tv franchise. In the Beast Wars manga, there is a Predacon named Flytrap who is based on a carnivorous plant.

I thought they did when McDonald’s put out Happy Meal toys for Beast Machines, but I think they were released before her season. There was even a Nightscream toy. Hasbro has said on record that they never intended to create a Botanica figure because it would be a pain to engineer. Also, not a lot of fans liked her bot form over her plant form (hence why in the comics, her bot form uses the same gold/green colouration as her plant form). At best, they could issue a figure that just doesn’t transform - but that would defeat the purpose of her being a “transformer” lol

The thing is she didn't resemble neither a robot, nor a plant, in either form. I love her concept, and I think her design is very elegant, but I can see why there are no figures of her. Both of her forms look too similar to each other + neither looks like a plant or a robot.

Fans of the animation studio Mainframe who like their first show called ReBoot might be drawn in for the animation (and voice actors), but fans of Beast Wars will not be drawn in for the animation.

@@alterbr33d oh, I've watched Mainframe shows since Reboot. Their work is brilliant. Don't get me wrong, I love the animation, but animation without story is nothing, and Mainframe has great animation, scene transitions, and (especially) writing.

@@ChrisTian-ed8ol I think Beast Machines was the end of the great Mainframe era, it went under new management, lost a lot of employees, etc in the early 2000s and rebranded for a while. I haven't tried everything yet, but I haven't liked anything after Beast Machines, Mainframe would fight Hasbro to make a good story, now its just soulless franchised shows where they don't put their own good story into it. Unless I'm missing something. I'm trying Action Man 2000 now.

We've had Transformers turn into cars, trucks, jets, tanks, helicopters, buggies, military vehicles, bombers, bulldozers, boats, submarines, weaponry, cassette players, animals, dinosaurs, insects, arachnids, and the only one that turns into a plant is Botanica

i remember this series being really bizzare. i can only assume they changed the format because they assumed their audience grew older so they wanted a gritty reality with a bit of zen like sprinkles ("i am transformed". whats up with that?)

This show has some concepts that i absolutely love, the weird ass techno organic style. The super creepy sci fi vibe, the weird as hell designs, love all of it. But all of this should not be here with transformers, its just so out of place

I seriously Hate Rattrap’s design in this show. I mean his Data/Hacker Mask is cool! But he should’ve have a better design than the one that was given to him! I wouldn’t of cared if his body was thin or lanky, but it would’ve been great to see him Load up on Guns, or at least developed an Armory of sorts for The others to use! Beast wars was definitely a better show.
