Coal is great for heating. I used to have an EFM coal stoker furnace.

Hay Joe Great vid. I'm looking at buying one on craigslist for 2500 now. How would you compare burning Bit to Anth? I was going to try and burn soft Bit in it as you where doing in first vid.

I'm essentially burning the same coal quality just stoker coal instead of lump.....mined from the same place. These units work awesome and we love this thing!

I’ve had my coal gun for almost two heating seasons in Pa. I like it verses the Wood Doctor it took over for... how much coal have you been going through in your winter months ??? I’m going through about six ton in about 5-6 months, I have mine in an uninsulated wood shed 16x20, I’m thinking on insulating it and putting walls and a ceiling in. I don’t know if that would help the boiler out or not, did you insulate the section that you put your boiler in right away just wondering if you have a comparison from one to the other... thanks for the videos I’ve watched them a couple times over and you helped out quite a bit !

EJ, where in PA? I'm on swpa and when we build I want one of these units. Are you using anthracite or bituminous?

@@mountainspringbees I live in South Central Pa., I switched over this year to a different coal supplier about another 45 mins. North from were I was getting it. Now I get it from Superior Coal in Hegins, Pa. and so far this year I’m very happy with the coal… to get to your question about what type of coal it is the way they discribed it to me was it’s more like a pink ash which I think is half way in between an Anthracite and Bituminous coal… I would like to try a ton of white ash “Anthracite” just to see how it burns but I’m very happy with the way it’s burning now !!! The people that run Alternative Heating are top notch, I went right to them and picked my boiler up in my pickup truck… and ended up talking to the owner for almost an hour and a half and he had answers for all my question !!!

$39/ton in Center, ND (Center Coal Co). We live in Idaho. We’ve found more sales to the public in ND than MT. We take a trailer when we visit our daughter in ND.

It’s funny you say that. We work and work to make it all Automatic and all the things and then just end up sitting on our hand in the little boiler room watching it trying to think of what we could do next. Your so right👍
