Yes we can use that type of AVR but u have to supply input voltage at L-N to get 240Vac from stator windings output voltage with excitation current of 3amps per 10secs.

for remote voltage adjustment potentiometer ay OK lng kahit more than 1watt, and mas better. but the resistance should be 1k as per the manual.

Sir did u suggest to install the 6 amps breaker on AVR output or not as u mention there is no Protection on AVR

I HAVE AN AVR SX460 INSTALLED ON A 220V GENERATOR. BUT NOW IT IS GENERATING 360 V AND IT DOES NOT TAKE ADJUSTMENT BY THE VOLTAGE POETENTIOMETER. I ASK YOU: IS IT A PROBLEM WITH THE AVR CARD OR IS IT AN INTERNAL PROBLEM. BECAUSE THE CARD LOOKED GOOD

SX460 max input in 264V only and it’s receiving 360v and since this avr’s does not have fuses then your avr is probably gone. Check excitation V how high is it and from there you can confirm that you have a defective AVR. Damaged rotating diodes or burnt winding wont show a high voltage, instead it produces a very low V. Thanks

MY AVR GAVE AT MAXIMUM RANGE, THE GENERATOR IS 220 V AND GENERATES 355 V. IT DOES NOT ADJUST BY THE VOLTAGE POTENTIOMETER. WHAT WAS DAMAGED?

IT IS A CARD EQUAL TO THE STAMFORD, BUT UNIVERSAL. MY QUESTION IS: WHAT COMPONENT WAS DAMAGED TO THE CARD SO THAT IT DOES NOT REGULATE THE OUTPUT AND IS AT MAXIMUM RANGE

@@teloexplicaeldiamante2855 Hard to know which electronic component gave up, but based on your info’s it’s on the regulation circuitry. But if fitted with remote V adjustment is suggest you check if it’s open or if connection from potentiometer to avr if not broken or loose. A loose remote V potentiometer also causes high V output. If no remote then AVR is defective. Thanks

The regulator of my 7.5 KVA generator has corroded and I want to replace it with a new AVR just like this SX460. I understand this is designed for a brushless generator which requires a smaller amount of current considering that the AVR is powering a slave generator which in turn supply a bigger amount of current to the exciter of the main generator. The way I look at it is that the voltages are just alright for my generator and the AVR. I just want to know if its 4A continuous current in the output is adequate to power the exciter field of my generator. By the way its exciter resistance is 6.9 ohms. I have 375kva nta855-g1 genset for poultry use. .the problema low herts low l-l low l-n kw low and shot down engine. .what is the problem sir can u advice me what is the probs of my genset 365kva

It really depends on the engine shutdown protection naka install sa system. But based sa info mo sir, low Hz means mabagal andar ng prime mover kya low L-L and L-N din yan definitely. Check na lang ano issue sa governor, fuel lines or other mechanical parts that is causing the RPM nd ema meet rated. If its 4poles yan 1800rpm Im assuming 4 poles windings. Thanks

Yes we can use but Only by using a step down transfer because as you see input voltage limit is 264 vAC and Alternator output (input for AVR) is 415 v. All other specifications are satisfactory like Excitation field resistance is above 15 (25 ohm in this case) and AVR output 75 vDC.

What if sir there is no residual magnetism so it means the avr will not work? And how to restore the magnetism? Thanks

No it wont if the residual voltage is not suitable for the AVR triggering V, restoring by field flushing. thanks

What is the alternator output V rating and check nameplate what is the excitation V. From there it can easily be determined what brand and type of AVR can be used. Thanks

Sir good day may generator po akong kinabitan ng AVR. GB170 po yung avr para po sa STC na mindong dynamo po. Ang problem po hindi po naaadjust yung voltage nya sa avr. Yung connection ko sa UVW ok naman po. Dun sa Dalawang Z po sinunod ko naman yung diagram base dun sa manual. Ano po kaya problem sir.? Thanks po

Good day sir, yung mindong genset kasi basically brush type and walang exciter field and exciter rotor. Yung output ng stator na U-V-W dun din kukuha ng voltage input yun GB170 na avr, make sure tama yan, yun naman feed sa main field dadaan lang sa trio bridge diodes pra yung 3phase AC from a separate coil group ng stator papunta na main field maging DC volts, pero yung 1 line from stator daan muna sa avr terminals labels Z - Z pra ma regulate yun DC na feed sa main field. Kung maka download ka ng PDF ng manual then balikan mo itong explanation na ito mas maintindihan mo yan. I hope makatulong sa iyo sir. Stay safe

Yes sir droop adjustment is located in AVR. Manufacturer has their own description on droop...you might see it as P/F, derating, AMP, PAR or sometimes even as a simple S. i hope makatulong sa iyo yang infos nyan sir. Thanks

Pwede yan sir aslong as not too huge capacity difference, important to note na they should have the same hz and exactly the same V at whatever loading %. Thanks

sir magandang araw po,, naka encounter ako sa generator namin ,na sira kasi yung voltage adjuster kasi sinusunog niya yung parang transformer ,,,ngayun wala na akong ibnag paraan oara mag adjust dun lang talaga sa avr mismo ,,,anu pong nang yari jan sir?

Ano brand and model ng AVR mo sir, if 220V rated Voltage ng genset mo then madali lang kasi most of AVR naman has 180-260V input kya directly connected na sa any of the 2 lines.

Ok yan, madami na tyo nakabit na GAVR pero 15 nde 20, magandang AVR yan, pra nga syang universal kasi mataas excitation current kya pde yan sa ibat ibang brands.
