Augh, okay so with comments ranging from calling me a liar to comments thanking me that this worked, I feel like I need to clear the air with this video and it's purpose. 1. The "trick" absolutely does NOT work and I never advocate in the video that it does work. At 7:25 and 8:06, I even express that this trick doesn't work. 2. A few days after this was posted, there was a comprehensive datamine proving that reactions at the airport don't affect the type of island you get whatsoever. 3. I made this to serve as a "mythbuster" video. At the time it was made, there was a rumor going around that this trick worked 100% GUARANTEED. There were people confused why it wasn't working for them and I was skeptical that it even worked in the first place. So I made the video to either prove that it worked and the process or prove that it didn't work at all; in this case, the latter is true. I apologize if my intention outlined in the beginning of the video wasn't clear enough or if it was misunderstood. Despite the rumor being disproved, I'm going to keep this video up for people who may look this up in the future who are trying it to see if it works to show that there is no process or trick.

It’s not that you get a rare island every time. It’s that the percentage chance that you get one increases. I once did a comparison of 400 islands of non blushing Orville vs. 400 islands of blushing Orville and without the blush only got 24 rare islands out of 400 vs. 57 rare islands out of 400 with a blushing Orville

Just watched this and tried it. I’m relatively new to ACNH and I have only ever been to islands with my native fruit. I just landed on an island FULL OF BAMBOO. Some may not think that’s exciting but I couldn’t be happier to not see cherries. Thank you so much for this tip, I’m grateful! 🙏🏼🎉

If you get bamboo island, you can get rid of all the trees and rocks and flower head and it turns it into a tarantula/scorpion island

ive heard about the same trick but done slightly different. you walk into the airport with a tool equipped, and depending on what tool you have out will determine what rare island you get. you then use the delight reaction on orville until he blushes, wait for the action to end, and then fly to the island. ive only tried out this trick once with a shovel equipped and i got money island.

How are people getting anything but trash islands? I've been playing the game for two weeks and spent 40,000 + nook miles and nothing but my native fruit and flowers. No new fish, no new bugs, no new anything. I've tried these hacks too...

I wonder if this "trick" would be a "once per day" thing?

I’ve been to bamboo, rock, tarantula and a orange island when my fruits cherry without knowing they’re even slightly rare 😂

According to my experience, i used this trick 5-6 times (even on different days) only got one time bamboo island and every other time it was trash island or spiral

What I do: I enter the airport, and reset it until the dodo is typing on the pc. Then I don't talk to him, just applaud until he blushes, and then I talk to him during the blushing animation. My experience: 1) trash island 2) hybrid flowers island 3) nothing special 4) trash island 5) big fish island 6) trash island 7) mountain island In my opinion it's not a 100% chance of getting something good, but there is definitely something.

I did this 3 times in a row. First time I got an island with different fruit and the other 2 times I just got normal boring islands. So I'd say it's not %100 but does work to some level

I once got the island with a island in the middle but when I hit the rocks none of them where money

My favourite of the rare islands so far has been clickbait island. One trick you can do when you get there, is to make sure you bring the bicycle with you in your inventory (careful, once there you can't buy one) and then back pedal. It only works when visitors to the island see you clearly.

Ugh I keep getting spiral island. I’ve wasted so many nook miles tickets trying to get a different one. It’s always the same lol. That’s frustrating

the rock that you have to break to get to the center on money island has bells in it too, you just have to hit it and pick it up quick and you can get the first 3 or 4

I went to my 1st island and it had hybrid flowers everywhere- like the light green mums and alot others...

Got secondary fruit island on first mystery tour. Pretty sure it's just a myth.

So far I've been into bamboo island, Money island, and an island full of 🦂. I'm hoping to find 2 islands that will have a Peach tree and a Pear tree so I can complete my farm on my island. I only have cherries and Apples so far. Also for my island, I'm hoping maybe to find flowers that I don't have yet , so I can complete my maze garden and not have to continue watering or planting flowers so much just to get them.

I heard if you walk into dodo airlines with a tool it will give you a certain special island (Like if you have a watering can it will give you a hybrid flower island)

I got fin island once , so fun . My pocket full of shark 🤣 and after that i just got common island 🙃

After watching this video, I gave it a try. My first island was somewhat normal except it was loaded with damselflies. I decided to try it again and ended up with a tarantula island. I didn't try it a third time because I had other things to do, but it's easy enough to do the "joy" emote before going over each time. I have around 430,000 nook miles so I could do it for a long time if I wished to. Edit: Tried it today again. Got a standard item. Irregardless, it only takes a few seconds to do the joy emote before going to the island.

IT WORKED!! It worked in the sense that I immediately got an island that didn’t have my native fruit growing on the first try, and that is what I was looking for. Thank you!

First time i tried and it worked for me! Instantly went to money rock island. I guess that when you try it the first time you always get money rock? I’m gonna try to do this every day to see if it is something you get daily

I just started playing maybe 2weeks ago I ive only gotten the pine tree island which seems like a waste of miles orange island and bamboo island and I'm kinda bored with it so watching KZfaq videos non stop to see what else I can do this was helpful I got orange island with emotions thankyou :D really hoping for cherries though

Thank you so much for making me aware of this!!!! This is what happened to me when trying this trick. 1st try- Nothing really happened. It was just normal with the usual fruits 2nd try- MONEY ROCK ISLAND!! It was new years eve and it literally made my day. I stayed for hours! XD 3rd try- I came to an amazing island with apples - a fruit I needed! 4th try- I came to a normal island with my usual fruits. 5th try- Same description as the 4th. So even though it isn't 100% successful, it is still worth trying. :)

I did 4 island trips for the first time ever looking for a new resident, Got Bamboo twice (not so special) and Koi pond island twice,. Did notice BIG fish on the plane dock - Oar fish, marlin etc.

I am trying this method so far, I'm getting regular islands BUT with abundance in expensive fish like sturgeon or other creatures that have been missing in my collection

I do this everytime now when I travel even though I know it's not true 😂 however since doing it I do get rare islands more often (money rock and scorpion island within 5 trips!) So even though it's proven wrong I'm going to do it anyway because I'm that person lol

Making Orville do a joy reaction after me didn’t work. Tried another method - holding the shovel and walk into the airport, then making Orville blush by clapping, didn’t work as well 😂 But I did went to a bamboo island without any tricks.

I’ve heard you can only visit a rare island once a day. For you it was money rock island. After that you got 2 uncommons, then a common. Overall that tells me it at least improves your chances of getting an uncommon or rare island!

I've been to that money island twice in the three months that I've been playing, and just the one time with the koi one. 🤔 I'd wave to Orville first but I think it was just luck. 🤷🏻‍♀️

When I get a different fruit island I dig up all the trees and bring it home and make an Orchard and I keep reselling all the fruits every 3 or 4 days

I dont think that it works every time, but I think it increases the percentage. and honestly, I dont think it hurts to do it anyway, whether it actually does or not.

One time when I started play acnh. I went to a hybrid island but i didn't take any of the flowers because I don't know why I didn't grab the flowers and butterflies.... I'm still upset about ditching it to this day

This does work if you go to a few islands, but it seems it stops working or your chance goes down the more you use it. But if you log out and back in on a different day, your chances go back up. This is what I've seen anyway. Thanks for the tip! For the lost part, I do believe it works to an extent.
