Retreating is seriously underrated. Gamers often have this stubborn mentality that they must try to "clutch" every situation. I have survived multiple KOs since the chainmail was added, and successfully escaped while the attacker was fending off zombies, or hauling my backpack to nearby bushes. Being overburdened is not a problem if you keep an epi pen for a hasty retreat.

1 dont run... unless youve got the extra food to pay for it you mean. 2 cars are easy to ouy together as a side quests. A single gun is silly. They break wear and jam too easily. One pvp gun and one pve gun. Getting fed when you spawn in ensures you dont hey sick and die quickly.

Hot tip, if you create a torch, light it and drop it on the ground then put your wet clothes on-top, they dry in about 10 seconds

Travel at night, never meet anyone, get bored and quit. Stop avoiding playing the game lmao. The game is about interactions, not avoiding all contact

6k hours and only carrying one main gun is horrible advice. Carry and automatic for short to mid range and a sniper for long range. You dont wanna be messing around taking scopes on and off during combat

@@AlwaysStreams I don't think anyone actually prefers 1st person *combat* , like me personally, I just like looking at all the stuff I have and I feel like I have better control of my movement in 3rd person. But I always switch to 1pp for gunfights.

Running - I generally avoid running, just to avoid alerting infects. Walking (CRTLx2) seems louder than crouching/sneaking. However, if I'm leaving a town, I'll likely sprint for the treeline until I run out of stamina, then enter counter tracking mode (moving slowing from cover to cover, constantly looking over my shoulder). I would like an auto run button. I've implemented one with autoHotKey. Night - What a double edged sword it is. My favorite night activity is code raiding. It can also be good to travel, but I have such a hard time seeing, and I can often alert a horde of infects and get stuck on a fence, only to repeat the process after uncon, trying to find a shed to hide in. My starting focus in order of priority: Water, Food, avoiding infects, knife, rope, seeds, farming implement.

I dont even bother with 2 handed melee anymore. I carry usually 2-3 knives amd the primary rifle. The other day I was just rocking am LAR and 6x48

I use a long rifle and db shotgun or auto rifle if lucky enough to find one. I’ll also take along a small pistol or sawed off revolver for wolves. I’m never under half stamina bar. Traveling light it’s important if you’re like me and are still learning maps, building confidence in recognizing different types of gunshot and which guns they come from, and how to spot players properly. That extra two seconds of sprinting will usually get me to cover, let me know which gun they’re using, as well as give the opposing shooter some extra confidence to expose their location as I run away look over my shoulder, doing a serpentine. I’ve had a lot of shots open up from someone thinking I don’t see them since I’m running. This works about 75 percent of the time. If they’re a good shot, good luck. No outrunning that shit. You’re getting a ticket to the coast.

Good way to manipulate people to watch your videos at the end. The first tip is good for looting, the slower you approach a town the more loot that will spawn there

I have recently adopted the 1 primary firearm mindset. I rock the KA74 with a PSO scope. Single shots and scope for long range. Reflex or Korbra site for CQC .

I just lost a gunfight because I had two primary weapons plus a melee weapon. When I pulled my rifle out, I put my crowbar on my back and didn't realize cause I was in 1pp. Later in the fight I ran out of ammo and got in a close quarters fight with one of the dudes and was DESPERATELY trying to pull out my pistol (on console, so with the radial menu) but my dude was not putting away his rifle and in my adrenaline rush I didn't know why and just thought I was bugged. It was a very sad moment after I died and realized what had happened.

O run a hardcore server and the biggest mistake that everyone make is disinfecting rags. Don't disinfect rags, it's a waste. Wait to see IF you get an infection, then if you do disinfect the wound. It will cure almost instantly.

most likely but I'm not 100% sure on that. You can't dissinfect gloves n stuff anymore so most likely a waste of time.

Why. Just disinfect the rags, iodine alcohol or disinfectant spray is super easy to find.

I once saw some fully geared dudes chase a freshy into a police station, I heard a series of shots that came from the same gun, and a couple minutes later *only* the fresh spawn walked out.

Wherever I build a base I tend to board up all the water fountains from nearby towns. You’re gonna have to bring plenty of hydration if you raid my place. Also my bases never hold loot other than construction lights and generators 😂

I agree 5200 hrs gameplay and I never jogged/walk anywhere unless I'm stealth killing the dead or limping on red..food/water is plentiful so it's dumb jogging everywhere taking forever.

3:53 I heavily have to disagree with this one. Having only one gun means that if that gun jams or even worse, gets shot and ruined, you are no longer able to defend yourself. While you could just take a pistol as a secondary, a pistol is going to be less useful in pvp than most long guns

You make good points. My position is most battles don't last long enough for people to go through multiple guns. Also, there are several advantages to having a single interchangeable gun that presents themselves way more times and for much longer, not to mention you're basically giving the next guy 2 guns xD But as I always say, these are just my opinions, I'm not an authority on DayZ

Yesterday, I had an empty shotgun and a BK-18 on my back, and a crowbar. I was killing a zombie with the crowbar and got ambushed by two dudes. I pulled my BK-18 out, which swapped the crowbar onto my back without me realizing. Crowbar was small enough to fit in my backpack, but the rifle was not, so later in the fight when I ran out of 7.62 and tried pulling out my pistol, nothing was happening, because the crowbar was taking up the slot on my back, and that empty useless shotgun in the other slot basically got me killed. It's a solid tip honestly

Actually a pistol isn't useless in PVP if it's short range. If you're close enough they can't shoot the shotgun or any other rifle but the stun punch works better. Stun punch then hit em with the pistol. Mock has the biggest clip so 15 into the chest kills anyone.

"dont carry two guns, you lose useful slots" - player has two gun/weapon(s) ONLY slots lmfao.. played DayZ for over 5k hours and can confirm most suggestions here are personal preff and not a "does wrong" instance lol edited: also two guns is very useful if you are low on ammo or using a single shot... its quicker to swop to 2nd gun than reloading xD

There are no gun-only slots. Two guns is unnecessary weight and 99% of the time the second is never used. It's poor strategy and resource control. Single, semi, auto, scope, no-scop are all available on a single gun. It's just not necessary. You can have a preference, but that doesn't change the advantages of having a single gun correctly prepped. =]

Carrying a single gun is dangerous! Yes it makes you lighter and saves space, but it's quicker to switch guns on the fly than to reload, and you've also got that very quick secondary back up when your primary jams! It's all personal preference here and I appreciate that. But I absolutely wouldn't go without two guns!

@@AlwaysStreams I do get it in some situations, say i was base building I'd only have one gun and a shovel or maybe a splitting axe in the other slot, leaving stuff in a stash, but thats well into an adventure and for the most part before that I'm scavenging. Although depending on your server world of DayZ, it typically ain't always that easy to maintain one primary, especially in vanilla servers. You may only have two badly damaged single shot shotguns to arm yourself with, and in this instance my personal pref is to carry the two rather than ditch one at least until something better comes along.

Pro tip...sprinting through tight groups of thick bushes or pine tree's is a really bad idea, often people hide in them and if your sprinting they hear you from half a mile away all the while there sat there hiding in silence, better to crouch walk with a raised weapon with a short as possible barrel....lol otherwise your 10 mile long mosin is first thing to stick through the tree's.

while the ideal situation would have you carring only one weapon and a sidearm.....since they updated the hit boxes and dayZ and now weapons can be ruined from being shot, rendering the weapon useless, i've started carrying a backup weapon.

Step 1, don't have a gun out, it makes people nervous and they're more likely to just shoot you. Step 2, use the greeting emote and say hello. Step 3, hopefully don't get shot. This works about 35-40% of the time. Pretty good odds for DayZ.

Number on rule on any server in DayZ "No Mic, No Life" everyone knows this. You don't have a mic you won't survive. Number 2 rule "Don't trust nobody" even if someone befriends you, they are also plotting to betray you. Not saying you can't make friends in the game bc I've met people myself that where friendly, in fact took over our base once they went to PC but most people KOS when meeting people. Your best bet to make a friend is a PVE server that has bans on killing survivors, this is the best way to meet people bc you all are forced to help each other.

The part about night time is so true. I watched our player count on our server go from 36 to 23 because night came around. New players often complain about night but it allows you to move more freely. Even the zombies have a hard time seeing you. Also want to say, if you've never driven a car before in DayZ, find a server that features that and practice. When you just car jacked someone is not the time to learn to drive. I agree. I always tell absolute beginners it's fine to switch to daytime. If it's your first hour playing and you can't even build a fire, the night wont help. But after a few hours you should be staying on. DayZ of a night is an entirely new game and opens up the floor to whole new types of gameplay.

I try to craft as much stuff as I can. I can go weeks without being noticed and have the whole server messaging me to join them because they can't even put in the effort to track me, they just want to kill me and get my stuff because they are 1 dimensional Call of Duty players.

My schedule doesn't really allow me to unfortunately. I switch between platforms too much but I'm sure someone around will help. If you're on PC try NEO Farmers. Check out their discord too. You can spawn in cars at will, meet people more easily and it's just very beginner-friendly.

The vast majority of servers are modded servers, where encumbrance and stamina are no longer a thing. So it's kind of strange that you keep putting out these videos that only cater to the few people left playing vanilla.

Lots of people still play vanilla. Also when people first start playing why would they not play vanilla? Beginners seem mook likely to watch DayZ tip and how to videos right?

Not every server uses unlimited stamina and the vast majority on console don't. Even lots of extremely popular and largely modded servers don't use it. Having the information I give helps everybody regardless of what server they go onto or what platform they use. If I just focus on servers that have certain modifications, such as unlimited stamina, it's way more niche than your comment by a significant amount, because it really only focuses on one preferred play style. If I cover the core game and its functionality, everyone, regardless of what style they have is equipped to deal with whatever DayZ throws at them, regardless of platform, server type or anything else =]

A lot of new players everyday dude. And console has a lot of servers with out stamina boost. Which IMO unlimited stamina ruins the game.

I disagree completely. The thing that inspired this video was the fact that I'm seeing players with hundreds+ of hours constantly make these mistakes. I haven't really met anyone who doesn't do at least a couple tbh =]
