I really like the Olsen sisters examples. It shows that you can actually go against what you're supposed to be wearing according to your body types, but you have to actually KNOW what you're doing

Hey Aly, soft gamine here. I also choose the Olsen's style, I like the Disney princess style. I'll go to my grave with long hair 😊. I think it's because I also take the essences theory into account and I have a bit of ingenue and ethereal, so I feel very much "myself" with that. I'm in no way comfortable going with modern bobs, even long bobs, and I have no desire of looking "contemporary" or "fashionista". Maybe someday you can do a video about certain "styles" or "images" that you want to project

Hi Aly, I love watching your videos to understand more about Kibbe!! This comment is unrelated to hair, but as a soft gamine can you introduce how we can have a minimal style for every day that incorporates more structured and relaxed silhouettes, like Winona Ryder's oversized style in the 90s, similar to naturals or classics without it looking unflattering. A lot of the style recommendations feel too girlish or soft and it's hard to find inspo for soft gamines in those lines as most examples are celebs at events hence more fancy, flashy outfits.

I think the brassy, reddish-orange blond was so popluar in the 90's because they couldn't go full on with the bleaching process of the without completely destroying the hair, except for people who already had lighter hair or very thick, robust darker hair naturally Over time, more and much better hair care products became available to take care of damaged hair, so hairdressers were able to lift the hair to a non-brassy blond, . Also, the bleaching process was significantly optimized through products like Olaplex to minimize the damage to a certain extend.

I am SG with some Classic essence. I like my hair long. I don't like it straight, so most of the time it is like Reece Witherspoon's long blonde hair with waves, that you have shown, always kept a few inches below my shoulders. It has been my signature look all these years. I had a bob style when I was young, and I still prefer my long hair. If it drags me down, then so be it. At 67 I pretty much have a feel of what I like, and don't. I probably will never follow all the recommendations that Kibbe describes for my body type, but gradually implementing some. I have a larger chest, so I have always gone for V-necks to minimize. I don't know how I will feel going with a high neckline. I think learning my coloring was the biggest eye opener. I have always thought I was cool, because of fairer skin. So, it came as a surprise when I was typed warm and radiant. Now I can implement colors that I thought would not belong to me. I do love your videos, Alley.

I'm a bit struggling figuring out if I'm soft or flamboyant gamin.. sometimes I feel like I'm too straight for the soft, but I feel also not realy flamboyant and may be a bit too skinny to look "curvy enough" if that make sence😂 even if it's not very important because all gamins have a lot in common and I can use und pick out the line recommandations for me, I'm kind of curious what I am.. does somebody else know this situation?😅

Very helpful! I am still not sure if I am soft gamine or soft classic - with a lot of "natural" essence. I am 5' tall but with a more classic or natural face, not the usual gamine face. The hair of the 3 types is quite different and hair is my biggest dilemma. Right now it is long, nearly to my waist, with sideswept bangs. But it is thinner and straighter. I toy with the idea of bobbing my hair, which I usually wear in a side braid or pony, but don't want to look like every other woman in her 70s. ??? I love your videos Ally.

Ok, I have a problem. Im 5' tall but I don't look fragile, or petite, or delicate. I have thick legs and a bum. My face features are not delicate either. Diamond face shape. According to the Kibbe method I should be a gamine because of my height. What do I do?

Have you considered you might be a romantic? That description doesn't sound very gamine.

According to kibbe, romantics, teathrical romantics and soft naturals can also be very small. I don't pay attention to the "limits" in height for each of these types, they are just a guideline. Edited to add: "gamine" mostly means that that person has a combination of very sharp features with very round ones. Based on what you are describing maybe you are a soft natural or some kind of romantic (maybe); try to look into that.

A Soft Gamine tends to have double curve, but Flamboyant Gamines are more boxy

yeah cuz i am confused too i have a pear shaped body like no shoulder at all they are so narrow but i have the hips i guessed that i am soft gamine bcz i am short lol.
