she's getting amazing speed on these spins! Lots of natural charisma but I don't feel like it's being worked, and her timing is immature in the choreography. Seems to have a good work ethic and passion for the sport 👍

I totally agree! She's honestly one of my favorites right now, and I truly hope she stays in the sport for a good few years and improves after the Olympics. Her charisma and joy is unmatched and I can't get enough of it! I can't imagine how great it will be combined with a bit more maturity with time.

Alysa’s Interpretation was higher than Young You’ or Eunsoo’s? Yes, Alysa’s energy is great but a big smile and bubbly steps reminded me more of High School Musical than the story of gypsy dance, especially after watching Olga Makarova’s ballet piece…

Her energy is so fake.. Like the movements do not look genuine. Over-rehearsed and over-acted. Not natural!

Her triple Lutz looks double. Just like kamila 3/4 pre rotation before toepick leaves the Ice.

Unfortunately, that seems to be the new jumping technique for a lot of women. If you look closely at Kaori’s triple flip and lutz she also heavily pre-rotates but it’s not as noticeable because of how big her jumps are.

she doesn’t prerotate her triple axel? she has about 90°, but a skidded takeoff is not “rotated on the ice”….

По два чистых выступления на олимпиаде и чемпионате мира - это ноль? Главное же, что на главных стартах вышло. И она большая молодец, что после пубертата вернула тройной аксель в итоге, учитывая, что ещё в том сезоне порой падала и сдваивала прыжки.

She is only 16 and has time to grow in the sport but she looks like she enjoys what she does and her smile reflects it. Her choreography needs to match the chosen music a bit more but that too will improve as she gets more exposure and works closely with her coaches.

Her jumps are small and underrated. She will go represent the US at the Beijing Olympics but won’t win unfortunately.

But Alysa Liu looks completely alive while some of the others were just lifeless and slow with their footworks and stumbling with their jumps and other methods of execution . Alysa impressed me where others have continued to struggle.
