Ciao everyone! This week I'm sharing how to transform your style from french style to italian style without shopping or spending money. Simple styling tips can help you get the most out of your wardrobe and update closet essentials and basics. I've created a lookbook of basic outfits and transform them into french inspired style - or effortless chic style and italian inspired style or romantic elegant style.

I dived head first into minimalism about three years ago after realizing that with 3 kids and a lot of inherited items from older relatives I was overwhelmed with STUFF. I quickly realized that for me simple is better and I have been slowly transforming my home and closet. Absolutely love your channel, your style, and your socially conscious message.

Hi I know this might seem out of place.I have gained 15-20 unwanted pounds menopause/pandemic. fluctuating 15 to 20.Doesnt go up more how do I get it to go down besides not eating?I dont eat meat or chicken for the most part..Anyone ideas remedies?I hate exercising.I do walk alot plan to get a indoor bike

@@y.l.74 I practice now intermittent fasting with great results. I am now at my "ideal" weight and keep it by still practicing the 16-8 window for eating. I finish eating at 8pm in the evening and eat again at noon the next day, black coffee (no milk no sugar ) in the morning and of course water. I don't really diet but still try to limit my consumption of sugar, fried food and processed food and no snacking!!!

Your videos have changed my clothing world. I never knew anything about capsule. Now, I am much more excited about my wardrobe than ever in my life time and I am 57! Always buying and never mixing it up what I already have. I made my first cleaning out of my closet, still have a lot but they are my colors, 1st step. I made a list of a few items I needed to look for to layer. I downloaded many outfits from Pinterest that I love and could see me wearing with what I already have. Last Saturday was my first attempt to put outfit together. Yesterday, I put outfit together and both days I received so many compliments! I had no stress trying to decide what to wear. I went by the picture like you do. You have really helped me tremendously. Sorry so long but this is my testimony 😃😁It is working. Maybe now I can start saving for a vacation with my extra money

I prefer the effortless chic styling. Love the shop your closet...cannot get enough. I'd love to see a "classic" versus "edgy" format where each is a separate look using relatively the same pieces. From there, then blend the two looks into a third look that integrates pieces from each. Hope that makes sense. PS Really drawn to the shirt, jeans and blazer outfit in this video. As always, thanks so much for the effort and your great demos!

You'll probably never see this comment, but this is a great video! Very fun and informative. I also learned that while I am very much more drawn to the Romantic outfits, I typically dress closer to the effortless chic because I don't have the self confidence to wear my shirt unbuttoned down to there, nor the tolerance to wear heels most of the time!

I agree with you! I was surprised that I enjoyed the romantic outfit every time more than the effortless chic. I also would consider myself to dress more effortless chic because I don’t like the hassle & often discomfort of the romantic look.

I am a combination of both styles. I love the simplicity of French Chic and the Boldness of Italian Style. I just add some Retro Vibe and stir 🤣 I really enjoyed all the combinations. It is so interesting how a few changes can change the whole vibe of basic pieces. One of my fashion goals is to change up what I have and broaden my approach to creating outfits. Your videos are a wonderful inspiration 💕

I just realised that naturally I go for the "italian" "feminine elegance" style, mixed with some elements from the "french" "effortless chic" style ,such as the flat shoes or the shoulder bag. To be honest,I think that those are my two styles, depending on my mood!

This was one of my favorite videos you did. I liked the styles compared: French casual chic vs “italian” romantic/bombshell. Liked the way you visually described. Showing the basic look (which looked very ordinary and in need of styling) -> transitioned to split screen casual vs. bombshell with details emphasized in their contrast to the original “basic” introduction of the outfit. The detailed notes about the individual elements and the effect they contribute to the look- was genius display of information. Thank you! Makes it more accessible information -> feels more achievable and as a result, more empowering.

I’ve been working on my Pinterest board since your Find Your Style video, and now I have myself a weekend craft project! I’m adding vintage lace trim to a basic t-shirt that I never like wearing. From my pins, I realised it just needs a romantic touch :) I definitely aspire to be the woman on the right!

Something you’re helping me realize is I don’t need to pigeonhole myself into a specific style. I’m so used to thinking that one’s closet has to be either classic or romantic or dramatic, but I’m learning it can be ALL of those things - you just need to be conscious of buying pieces you really truly love and then investing the time to style them into your wardrobe based on how you feel like dressing on any given day. Sometimes I want to be flirty and fun, other times I want to be chic and unfussed, and I can have a closet that allows me to do that and more. Thank you! 👠👞👡👟♥️

I am currently building a capsule wardrobe and I'm basing it mostly on the effortless chic look because it looks less fussy and more comfy but sometimes I like the small elements of the romantic look like the heels and the accessories, plus I love the makeup and the hair looks on the romantic side. Lol. Maybe I can do both and swap them every once in a while. Thank you, Alyssa! You are my source of inspiration and I love that you have tons of ideas for things that you already have. I am Italian and this is so spot on. I would _almost_ wear the French one, but I would totally wear the Italian one in an istant. All of the outfits are great but especially the Italian ones are just perfect. Just 2 things: Italians probably wouldn't wear their shirts very unbuttoned, let alone *that* unbuttoned, and also the last scarf you added feels more french than Italian to me. But trust me when I say that everything else except for these 2 details is A: Amazing, B: Right on the money.

It was lovely to hear you describe the concept of “negative space as the breathing room between your clothes and your body” - it has been something that I have observed but have not heard vocalized nor was able to describe (or apply) successfully. I appreciate you putting that into words - and showing great examples. Because of my body size and type I have struggled with the ability to apply negative space over the years, but am getting better and better at it as well as defining my personal style (Easy, Comfy, and Sassy). Thank you for your work and your videos - you’ve helped me dial in my self styling ability.

I like that you showed that each look is a vibe that's achieved by a combination of factors, not just one. There was an example of a belt and a hair bun as both being bold/romantic and easy/French chic. Awesome!

What I like about this video is the use of mostly the same pieces of clothing to achieve quite different styles, shown side by side with short descriptions for for easy comparison. It demonstrated how to dress for your 'mood of the day' with a modest wardrobe..

I have really enjoyed your videos. Thank you for making them. I use the pleasure of watching them as a reward for something I HAVE to do but am delaying doing. I have learned a tremendous amount of useful things. Even at 75 yrs “young”, I appreciate the useful Tips and tricks you give us. Sometimes I will study a look you have put together to see what I can replicate but might feel more comfortable with by taking (or changing) one element . Shoes are a big issue for me. I am a size 10 with a AA width, (or when I can find them, which is not often, a AAA). Currently I am spending more on shoes than I ever have since I now have the $$$ to do so. The element for me to change might be the wonderful colorful shoe you show , to a conservative basic plain shoe that I have because I can’t buy anything close to what you show us. But I do have lots of very nice scarves that lift my look up! Sorry for the rambling but I know that you understand what I am getting at. Keep up the great work you are doing. It is very appreciated by loads of us.
