Dave i feel your pain. I too work from home and struggle to remember to shower. I usually log on and wait until everyone has left for work/school before having my morning shower, but get distracted and find i'm shower at lunch time. focus on earning the money and nothing else. I always used Parcel Select for items just over 1lb. Ground Advantage actually seems like it is more expensive. Now it seems all 1lb+ packages are $10 minimum, wheras before many items could be shipped between the $7-$9 range. On top of that, normal rates increased again. This update definitely hurt sellers

Dude you are so hilarious! I know you say you have ADHD or that's in your name or something but honestly I find familiarity with everything you do on KZfaq as far as reselling and stuff goes. I think that's just resellers because we're able to multitask in a different way than your average person I noticed. It’s so funny how people make this whole “how much do you make reselling” issue a thing. I couldn’t care less how much you make, or don’t make, doing your reselling thing. You could say you make $100 or $1 million, I would just tell you “OK, sounds great!” I just watch reselling videos for tips and tricks on how to get stuff done, not to check on your financials.

The Ground Advantage Over 1lb is the same price as USPS Retail Ground/Parcel Post use to be. It’s the same service/ship time just added Insurance now.

I have always listed as Parcel select but then sent priority with my discount. Makes for great reviews when they get item faster than expected. Never charged a customer priority.

Hello! Have you considered opening a Line of Credit Account? It is a good vehicle to sustain your business. Keeping it at 0 and only using it when absolutely necessary.

On your editing day you should try and end and sell similar on a few of your oldest items. Just take a few minutes to keep your store active. Just a suggestion. It helps me when i dont have time or want to list.

Performance > Sales. Scroll to the 4th boxed in area, under sales by category. You will see total sales value and right under it is broken down into item sales, S&H and Taxes. This separates the values for you if you charged for shipping. Then just take that number and divide by the number of items sold. If you do free shipping IDK, your item sales will show a higher amount and you gotta guess what your average shipping is to subtract from there i suppose.

Ground Advantage is lousy for small items. I sent put a pendant that should have cost about $4.00 tops. It cost over 5.00... It's only a dollar, but the psychological jump from 4 to 5 is big! And the shipping is up 20%.

I changed all my listings to Ground Advantage or Media Mail.

All my items go Ground Advantage and only other policy I use is eBay Standard envelope.

Dave, there is something that influence-resellers do not seem to be calculating. When an item is featured on a social media video that results in income that adds to the profit of the item as something like Amount Per View divided by presented items. This happens multiple times such as on the Picking video, the flipping video (especially if it's a controversial item) and an item that is a topic of shorts. It even applies to when Kevin points at/talks about/hand models during flipping videos. If you were to remove items from both picking and flipping videos they would be pointless therefore they are a required need for your social media content on multiple platforms. Quality and duration are extended resulting in more views with longer watch times. Oh and not to mention you can write your inventory off. So essentially you are making money 2-6 times depending on if the item was featured or not. That's why I love this sport and that's why I began a channel. Also, Dave, this applies to your groceries as well. (Midersikes is awaiting the results this factoid has on an already troubled brain.)

Oddly I have found that my just over a pound items like one pound nine ounces even ship cheaper priority for $7.00 and ground advantage $7.35 and up lol. Strange. Though I do live in Kansas right in middle of US and my shipping is cheaper than coastal regions.

To find what I make on average profit from my sold items I simply divide the Net amount by the number of items sold.

You just sourced a salmon Starbucks cup for $8 for 1. Is that something you would do looking at it that way? Different topic. You are looking at packaging decisions based on lowering weight even when you say the lower weight ship is sketchy. Packaging items safely will not only save you tons of headaches, it will have your customers appreciate your efforts even more if your efforts are over the top.too. Overall you are doing great at converting to full time. You are working hard on a good balance and outstanding effort. On the Starbucks cup, what I'll do is give them the option. I'll apologize and ask if they're happy/interested in keeping the salmon one at a discounted rate. If they are, I'll send them a refund for 25% or whatever seems reasonable. They're happy to get the big discount, I can just end the other listing and relist the one I thought I sold, I usually save some $ in shipping and save a lot of time
