Gotta bet bigger on the flop when stacks are large. Omg. Turning tpgk into a bluff, and then later folding tp to a bluff. Agree on sizing comments about T8s.

Very entertaining video. To succeed with that style you need to be totally on top of stack sizes and opponent psychology at all times. Otherwise, you'll make hugely expensive unforced errors. Personally, I can't focus that hard longer than an hour. ("Must move" is a crappy house rule, IMO.)

Don’t be a lag that blasts 3 streets with air and then turns into a turtle with showdown value. What I love about low stakes games is you can play laggy because nobody will play back at you, but if you’re not willing to bet top pair medium kicker for value then there’s no point in showing up with all these bluffs.
@corey_eyring
@corey_eyring Жыл бұрын
Good advice -- I've found that I'm willing to blast with air, but become timid with value. balancing out this behavior (and bluffing significantly less) should result in a fat trip to profitville.

K4s is not a check fold. You have an overcard to the board, bdsd/bdfd, and your bottom card has no connectivity to the sd, so it does not block river folds when the straight draw bricks. This is an auto cbet.
@BamaNick
@BamaNick Жыл бұрын
In the K4s hand think about what you are repping with a lead there, sets and two pair. Your most likely set being 6s now just became very unlikely on the turn. He has a 10 in his hand blocking your repped 10J. Im sure in his mind he now had you on a open ended straight draw or back door flush draw. Neither came in, so he wasn’t going to fold to your jam most likely. Good shutdown but bad double barrel.

Hey Corey, although i like the LAG style - you overused it this session in some wrong spots. What is striking with your play, at least in my opinion, is that your first thought about a hand and the way to progress with it is mostly correct, but still a fair share of the time you choose a different play. 18:25 is obviously a good example of this, you have that gut feeling that you are beat, especially when a player leads on the river on a card that smashes your range and still you think: 'hey, maybe if i turn this hand into a bluff he has to give me loads and loads of credit for a nut or close to nut hand.' But in hindsight this is at best a call, but i think in such an underbluffed spot when someone leads into the 3-bettor that favours your range they just have it 95% of the time. And you loose to a lot of hands there, 66, 99, QKs, JTs etc. Also 5:44 is another example of this, when then call your flop and turn bet here twice, mostly they are not going to fold river there even not to an overbet, because they have at least a decent top pair or better and they can also have some combo's here with backdoor hearts here like A2h, A8h, 89h etc. But this is less likely then a top pair. At these lower stakes, just keep things more simple. Valuebet the shit out of them when you have it and manage to play small pots when you don't. Don't overbluff, because it just doesn't work. If you bluff, your story really has to make sense, and you have to up against someone who can lay down a hand and you need fold equity. I know that you know these things of course, but sticking to those fundamentals is difficult sometimes for all of us. Nice vlog. Good luck.
@corey_eyring
@corey_eyring Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice, frans. I really like your analysis of the KJ hand (18:25), and I'm learning when to shut it down (a great example being 5:44). I've been trying to overthink hands and force plays, especially ones that don't make any sense. Just 'allowing the cards to play themselves' is my goal. This one I think I can actually find a fold, or a crying call. less bluffs, more value is the motto moving forward. still willing to blast, but the story needs to check out and I need to select my spots far more carefully. nice seeing you as always!

Content/voiceover is good and entertaining, but most of the game play in this vid and others is so bad. Seems like you lost the min at the must-move-really good timing on the flopped top set hand. I’m surprised you weren’t getting getting iso’d every hand after the K4 air ball hand. Morbidly curious about your graph because otherwise I have no idea how you’re rolled for 5/10 with the footage shown

Betting bigger in that 10 8 hand doesn't make much sense. What are you getting called by? The draws missed and your opponent checked back the A on the turn. It was very odd that your opponent had as strong a hand as they did.

@@Kallahane2187 I've been planning to make a video for a while, but I don't want to negatively affect the growth on this channel. If people who are interested in gaming videos subscribe to a poker vlog, then they're most likely not going to watch the content for very long (if at all). Behavior like this tanks watch time, AVD + CTR, which hurts my performance soooo so much in the algorithm. That's why I've allowed this channel to grow organically rather than telling people about it. I'm not necessarily keeping it a secret, but I certainly don't want a massive influx of people who aren't interested in poker to come subscribe to a poker channel. It'd do a lot more harm than good. happy to see you comment man, it's been a while. i hope you (and maddie + panda + the rest) have been well :)

Ok Corey, I'm 39 and been playing for awhile now in Massachusetts like you. I hope you did not quit because u are very good at card reading and putting people on a range which is very hard to actually do, I mean so people think they are good but no they suck. I think you need to stop trying to prove yourself so much, if you can beat 1/2 and print money do that for a year. You can do it but moving up to 2/5 and opening K4s UTG, well it will hurt your bankroll, make you question poker and is this for me ect. You are a LAG and so am I but I know when to shut it down and I'm not opening K4s, it's just not profitable no matter what skill edge you have. Stay strong
