I think the second book of a river enchanted as better then the first! It’s so different.

I think people put too much pressure on their star ratings for books. For me, I was highly invested and couldn't put the book down, it's an automatic 4 stars, 5 if I loved the ending. Because of this I end up giving a lot of my books 5 stars 😆

Words of radiance was a LONGG reread for me recently but also those final acts and iconic scenes were still so so good

I started the Words of Raidiance audiobook on 1/1 and i think I'm a little over halfway through. I enjoy it, but when I'm not reading it I just dont find myself wanting to. Think I'll just plan on finishing it before the end of the year like i spaced Way of Kings over all last year.

The pacing is ALOT better in A Fire Endless. I liked book 2 way more. book 1 was more of a world/character setup. There is more actual magic/lore in book 2. 🧚‍♀

👻 and totally fine to go in phases with reading. I’ve been obsessed with playing Baldur’s Gate 3 and haven’t read in over a month because of it. I could see you possibly enjoying that game if you don’t already play it!!

I'm with you on dnf-ing vows and honor. If a book starts having SA scenes, even just insinuated, especially if there's no point in the plot, I can't deal and will stop reading. I'm the same way with TV shows. It's why I stopped watching Outlander! Too many times she was "almost" SA'd and it just rubbed me the wrong way.

I get why you DNF'd "Vows and Honor." That one always felt narrow, or not deep enough, in the storytelling. The characters were great to me, but they all seemed like little islands that bumped into each other occasionally, only shedding light on the reality of their surroundings through accidental means. Also, I have a problem with the SA scenes all over the place. I feel like they're everywhere in her writing, and that was pretty hard for me. I was young when I started her books. Some of those scenes kicked my emotional ass. 😱😭I will still adore Talia and Vanyel until my dying breath though. ❤ I liked "A River Enchanted" pretty well, but I didn't like the ultimate ending of the duology. It features a trope/decision that I hate. 🙄 I liked the main character from "Divine Rivals," Iris Winnow, and especially the parts detailing her job and execution of her job, far more than the romances in either series. I would have happily read an entire book about Iris and journalism, apparently.😂 ✨🐟🍂🥬🌊✨

I tried August Kitko & co but DNF it befor those mecha even should up. After Gargantia anime and Pacific Rim: The Black on netflix I have not found a good mecha story so I was why not read a fun one and cover is soo cool. So sad.
