This is Villa's most important signing in over 2 years. Was very concerned that Villa wouldn't be able to navigate the time in the CL and PL without Kamara. Onana is the player who can play the Luiz role that Unai wants in a player, and can dominate defensively like Kamara does. Brilliant signing on many levels.

As an Everton watcher ,this is a boss deal for both clubs. Onana can play but flattered to deceive playing Dycheball, however he is capable of much better under proper coaching . from the end of the season till now, we have had, nedjelkavic (however its spelt) sousa? dobin, maatsen, philogene, archer, barkley, onana, iling jnr, barrenechea,dendoncer mings buendia ramsey(if fit) come into the team XD while losing chambers, luiz, ireobunam, and a couple of others i cant remember. thats HUGE! and no doubt another 1 or two should mousa/duran leave, maybe a RB and an attacker. what a mental transfer window!

Everytime we play Everton, Onana and Doucoure always give us problems with their size and strength in midfield. He will definitely add something we have been missing, and hopefully Unai can unlock more levels to his game.

Great signing this in my opinion.

It's too much for me but it's not my money. It improves the height profile of the team, and the age profile as well. We'll see what Emery can do with him and how he'll be in a team that isn't fighting relegation.

Onana and Gordon were a nightmare at our place 1st game last season. Barley got out of it with a win, both had great games and could see Onana was going to be a great player on his then Debut. Outstanding signing.

Two points on Jaden Philogene’s return: 1.) Does he still meet the requirements for a club trained player for inclusion in our UCL squad for next season- therefore will be able to fill one of the slots we were forced to leave vacant last season? I think (and hope) the answer is “Yes” 2.) We’re singing the praises of those in wheeling and dealing, HOWEVER have we dropped the ball with him? We’ve essentially paid Hull £7 million to loan him for a season (sold him for £5 million, now buying him back for £12 million!) Oops!

Solid signing. Our midfield is going to be horrible to play against. The combination of Mcginn, onana, tilemans and kamara will boss the majority of midfields next season.
