WE can't wait for you to SEND this as well and review it! They are both so much better than the V1 and although I don't have as many problems with slipper clutches as other people I think I would love to eventually see the 4S line with a center diff!

Currently got into the hobby. As a disabled vet I needed to find something to do that would get me out side or I never would go out. Just bought an amp Mt, (because it is what I had the money for) but one day I will have the money saved up for either the sledge or the karayton blx.

My buddy just got that truck. Are you having an issue where it loses half its throttle power randomly and you can restart the ESC and then it's fine again for a moment?

This was a Killer comparison of both options Brett 🤗. Wicked street freestyling too. That 3 rail flip with the Kraton on the loading dock was sick 😱. The Outcast 4s is a stunting Beast no question. Huge props to ARRMA for the solid upgrades with these new versions. That battery eject hit was absolutely nasty in slow-mo 👀 and a testament to how durable the beefy new control arms really are. Mine has taken a beating and just keeps going. Great overview Brother!!! 🍻😎💪👊👊

I've been wanting to get the 4S Kraton but haven't seen the V1 in stock for quite some time, this is probably why. The Kraton 4S V2 is on my wishlist. This is will balance out my RC line up.

I may have figured out the servo issue on Arrma Outcast 4s V2. So I turned those black guards on the front shocks to face away from the drive shaft and now it’s turning almost on a dime. I’ve had mine for about 5 months and the turning radius was always bad. I saw the wear on the drive shaft where those guard were so I just lifted the spring and now have them facing away from the drive shaft and now it’s awesome. I mean that has to be it because I haven’t changed it from stock at all. Let me know if it works for you and if it does just give me a shout out on a video. Good luck, I hope it works for you. 🤙🏻

@@stevenpaulin448 the reason why people I believe are possibly comparing the two is because it's what's been asked at least that's the way it's been for me and I think it's a pretty fair comparison you have one that's $100 more I think to the penny and both are extremely good trucks and you are getting what you pay for to some extent. 👍💯👊

Brett I'm not into bashing, don't like breaking parts. However it doesn't take away the appreciation I have for theses vehicles. What they can do and offer to the user is fantastic. We certainly in the golden age of RC, my opinion. As always Brett. Many thanks to you and AMain for putting out these inspirational/informational videos. I recently bought the outcast and you do have to control the throttle because it pops up easily, really fun though I think I’m hooked on RC cars now.

I had one of the pin retainer C-clips on the left rear driveshaft rotate and spit the pin halfway out. It locked up the wheel from spinning. No big deal though, took the wheel off, poked the pin back in and positioned the C-clamp properly. Hasn't happened since. I hope someone makes a better system for retaining those pins.

The front shock tower poking/grinding through the bodyshell is also an issue for the 6S Kraton, and might be for the 4S if you bash it hard enough. Aside from foam pads just raising the bodyshell posts up one indent can help as well by giving it more clearance. Great review otherwise, thanks!

I want a Kraton . I might go for the 6s one it's only 80 bucks more and has metal gears and the 6s would allow for a longer run time.

They finally fixed the crappy plastic leaky shock problem with the big bore shocks upgrade. Now they need to seal the spur gear casing so dirt doesn't get in to shred the spurs.after that then I think these will then be the best in class cars. I had the senton and the plastic driveshaft melting, leaky plastic shocks, stripped spur gear. Servo getting jammed by rocks diff input shafts breaking. The senton was a pretty crappy truck. Hope they fixed most of these issues.

Nice. Very nice. I usually don't trust just two battery straps. Is there a way to put another battery strap across the battery the long way? That usually fixes the battery straps breaking since the battery strap across helps in strength. That's what I do with my 8s Arrmas and even my 6s Arrmas. I would put a piece of foam where the Outcast 4e body mount is damaging that body. That's why I kind of prefer the truggie bodies. They are protected better than the MT bodies. Hehe.

How hard is it to change oils replace parts? I want the arrma as my first rc just because of it’s power and it’s appeal! I’m up for enjoying the learning curve, just curious what I’m signing up for. Any help/advice will be appreciated.

the only issue I have with these 4s trucks is the price... they are about $150-200 aud less then the 6s version.. but about $250-300 aud more then the 3s line... I was so hyped to hear the 4s line was coming back... until I saw the price tag.... I would rather save a little more money and buy the 6s kraton...

Here in NZ the prices are so close between the 4s and 6s, 100-150 NZD difference and the Typhon 6s is $50 cheaper than a Kraton 4s. The Typhon is a tank and IMO the best around RC you can buy. I bash the snott out of mine and race it at the local track as well.

I'm sorry Dave, I feel for you guys in Australia. Prices tend to be higher for r/c in AU and I'm not really sure why. In the states, the V1 trucks went on market in 2019 for $399 USD and never increased in price. Now 2022, and the V2 trucks are $469, which isn't too bad considering all the chassis and electronic updates, if you can get it for that price. Is it any cheaper to have a friend in the states buy it and ship it to you? I'm unfamiliar with what customs fees are like, so maybe it's not. -Brett

How much is a typhon 3s and kraton 6s for comparison to the 4s kraton? Im wondering if the prices are a bit higher for us atm because they are so new..

@@MrDngrsdave Hey Dave. These are rounded up prices, but they're about: Typhon 3S for $340 Kraton 6S RTR is $550 and the 4S Trucks are $470 The 3S and 6S say they're on sale, although it could be more permanent; not sure on that. -Brett

Thanks for the very thorough review and comparison. They both look like a lot of fun. My only concern has nothing to do with your review. As you mentioned there is a danger to other people. I will guarantee you that some parents will buy one of these for their young children, who have never driven an r/c car. They won't bother to turn down the throttle.

For this Kraton 4S BLX, we used this battery: www.amainhobbies.com/gens-ace-bashing-pro-4s-lipo-battery-pack-120c-14.8v-6800mah-gea68004s12e5/p1331197 The Kraton 4S BLX is also compatible with less powerful batteries, like a 3S LiPo. Less power, easier to drive, and less wear and tear. For the entire Kraton family, battery compatibility is: Kraton 8S BLX is compatible with 8S (2x 4S) and 6S batteries; Kraton 6S BLX is compatible with 6S and 4S batteries; Kraton 4S BLX is compatible with 4S and 3S batteries. The shorter chassis is to thanks for that "hyper" nature; it's very reactive. Between Kraton 4S and WideMaxx V2, they're very similar platforms and both are exceptional. One big difference between them is the chassis, with the WideMaxx having a higher, more monster truck stance, and the Kraton is very low like a race truck. In one way, the Kraton will hug the ground a little more when corning and turning, but the Maxx has more chassis clearance. There are a lot of other minor differences too, like the clipless body and battery compartment on the Maxx are easier and more convenient to use, but these are personal preferences. Honestly, they're both great trucks. -Brett

@@flhandster4395 Both companies will take care of you if something comes broken on the car when new, typically an electronic component (although it's rare). Traxxas offers a telephone number to call for support, while Arrma provides email support only. Ideally, you shouldn't have to ever contact either though. Parts support is great for both, and you'd flip the bill for any parts broken while driving, tires coming unglued, shocks that blow out, links that bend, etc. It's a high-performance machine, it happens. -Brett

Surprised at how close in size these are to the 6s EXB. Bet they end up being a tougher truck in stock form. But is the 4s Kraton as fun as the 6s EXB? I kinda doubt it. What say you?

It's as fun, but not as capable. The extra size and weight from the 6S trucks helps increase stability in really harsh, rough terrain. For more street style bashing, the plastic based 4S truck would be ideal. Which is tougher? They're both pretty darn tough! -Brett

@@AMain_Hobbies my EXB is great now that it’s sorted. But it sure broke a good bit off the bat. Just driving around yard etc. QC type things. Spent an extra $150 on the EXB before I ran a complete pack lol. Taken a long time to get that taste out of my mouth 😂
