I really wish someone would bring up Nelson Sullivan. He was so important and I feel he definitely wasn't/isn't appreciated enough. We have some really valuable amazing footage from the club kids in the 80s because of him and he was always there. I'd be interested in seeing what they'd have to say about him.

I can't put my finger on exactly what it is but he always brings him up and always has some negative comments like oh he's too much or he did this or that and its like he has resentment for him. Is it me but is there a strange divide between LA/NY drag in the early 90s against SF drag? I know communication wasn't readily available back then but it even seems LA drag back then was and still is separated from SF drag. What is it about San Francisco drag and it's micro culture that seems so distant and different from any of the other main city drag? I've just been reading between the lines, it seems like every one of the main cities were connected, but SF was disconnected, even though SF was the mecca of gay culture back in the day

I went to NY dragcon and I met 4 people on Saturday and the longest line I waited in was ~2 hours towards the end of the day. Like any big con, you just have to prioritize and plan ahead and get there early. :) I knew who I wanted to see and when their meet and greet times were, so I planned around that. I also came from out of state and had to drive super early to make the train so I really had a super tight plan for the whole day.

It doesn't matter. Once you become a murderer and brag about it and have no justifiable reason to commit said murder, whatever contributions you've put into the club kid era, is forever tainted. I do think he feels guilty and now that he got himself together he realizes how much of a pos he was..but it's almost too little too late. Are people saying how good OJ was in football or in movies? No..ppl are saying fuck him he's a murderer and hope he rots in hell. Or Chris Benoit..he murdered his wife, son, then himself..ppl are not saying his name and saying how great a wrestler he was. No..they remember that he was a murderer and took innocent lives. Everyone knew Michael did outrageous things so I'm pretty sure he meant to just bring up someone that ppl who dk club kids wouldn't know who they were. But also fuck him..I'm more interested in James St James quite honestly.

9:49 Leigh Bowery was Australian, not British! He came to London for the same reason the American club kids came to New York. Because he could be himself there. British clubs were a bit dire before acid house and rave. They used to shut at 2am! Now any decent club will shut at 6. (Not 4 like New York!!) It was a lot better in the 1990s and I assume it's still better now ~ if you can actually find a nightclub to go to in London. All the best venues seem to have closed

These teenage girls and baby gays in the audience don't even understand who is sitting in front of them. These are legends of the community. I hope a lot of questions, applause and laughs were cut from this video because it is far too quiet in there. I wouldn't have been able to shut up with the questions and adulation I have for them all.

They talk about how Club Kidz influenced average culture, which was true. However, the Blitz Kidz and New Romantics of the late 70's early 80's influenced Club Kidz. Their look and culture seemed strikingly similar to Boy George and the Blitz Kidz from Britain almost 10 years earlier.

Pete Burns influenced Boy George. He wasn't part of any of the British movements but he seemed to influence fashion and culture at that time nonetheless.

Amanda, baby, you played it so wrong.... I get that she is not as popular as she was years ago BUT SHE WILL NEVER BE UNNOTICED! SHE IS AN ICON right alongside Marylin, Naomi, Madonna, Cher and standing next to these journalists and party goers... I mean yes, they are the same "team", but she should've just layed on the table glamorously and posed posed posed the entire time. There are levels of performance here! Her persona is intentionally a dumb blonde, so it all just looks strained when asked serious questions behind a desk. NEXT TIME POSE YOUR ASS OF AND SHOW THEM HOW MUCH OF A LEGEND YOU ARE!

At the risk of sounding conservative (a terrible risk), does anybody else cringe everytime they're reminded that Desmond is Amazing is in the front row? Even with how family-friendly DragCon has had to become because Drag Race's main fanbase is so young, there's a time and place for children. It's not easy for a lot of the panel discussions to avoid adult topics/language and it can't be comfortable for the speakers that Desmond's mother didn't explain to her child that one question is polite to ensure others get to have the opportunity. I'm all for kids enjoying drag as an art form, but there really does need to be some guidelines communicated and some events age-restrictive.
