Reviewing the Amazfit GTR 3 and GTS 3, two fresh budget friendly smartwatches (launched alongside the Pro) offering Alexa support, fitness tracking and some of the best battery life in 2021. I've been testing the Amazfit GTS 3 and GTR 3 for a couple of weeks so here's a comparison and in-depth tour!
Zepp OS isn't the most intuitive smartwatch UI around and can be a little janky, but you get full notifications support and customisation. Both the Amazfit GTR3 and GTS3 sport a decent selection of apps, as well as an AMOLED screen, and mic for Alexa support. However, there's no speaker, no GPS, no music storage and a few other premium features found on rivals like the Fossil and Huawei watches are MIA.
You can always upgrade to the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro if you want the full feature set, but these watches offer solid fitness tracking and the best battery life around.

I love amazfit because of the battery life. I have the GTS 2 MINI rated at 14 days. The watch uses about 10% per day. 5 days easily.

TBH, I am quite sure GTR 3 and GTS 3 do have GPS tracking built-in. That blinking GPS icon was probably because it was not able to catch GPS indoors ;)

Yes, I have the GTS 3 and it has GPS built-in. Another KZfaq reviewer tested it a bit more and said the GPS accuracy on it is one of the best and improved rom GTS 2 where it was a weak point apparently. I obtained a hike tracking map from the watch so it clearly has GPS, didn't have it connected to my phone while on the hike. PS. Since writing the above I participated in an organised 5k run and the watch reported 4.36km - so I'm not very impressed with the GPS accuracy on this occasion - disappointing. I hope it EMDR better next time!

Awesome review, thank you! I bought the GT3 PRO and I am blown away, it is by miles the best smartwatch I have used on Android. It blows the Ticwatch PRO 3 I used earlier this year out of the water in any area they overlap on. Of course, these watches don´t offer all the "smart" features, but I could not care less. To me, this is the perfect compromise between functionality, performance, design and battery life. Recommended!

Hi. Can you tell me if is possible to go for exercise (outdoor running) and leave phone at home? GTR will record the data (GPS, Heart rate, Blood oxygen...) and transfer it to phone when they connect later? How long can it stay away of phone before starting to loose data? Thanks!

@@JuniorFerri Yes, the watch collects all data without having a connection to the Phone. I never tested how long you can leave it unconnectet but its defnitly 1 Month +. It also transfers the data automatically, next time you open the app.

Nice review style and personality but I feel this review doesn't compare the two enough and focuses too much on just the GTR 3. I think GTS is thinner which was a big reason for me to choose it and you really need to correct the mistake of stating it has no built-in GPS. Otherwise I enjoyed the style and info, thanks!

Hi, Liked your video. Can you please tell me if in gtr3 pro we can turn-off the bluetooth signal of the watch so that while sleeping it doesn't emit radiations, kind of airplane mode? Basically I want to reduce my exposure to bluetooth when not in use/required When you scroll down, you get a shortcuts. Bluetooth icon is there. What does that do?

watched loads of different videos on the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro and all show a "Calendar" app in the menu but no one describes how this works (does it sync to phone's calendar app?) or does this even work at all? I've got a Huawei GT2 and love the long battery life but really want a watch that is capable of showing my events for today/tomorrow! Would go for a Wear OS watch for full features if I didn't end up with so much battery-level anxiety.........

Have you used this on a run? I have a Amazfit Bip S and about every 3 runs it will just stop tracking for about 5 minutes in the middle of a 30 minute run. No GPS, no heart rate, nothing... Have you seen that on the GTR3/GTS3?

I ordered the GTR 3 and am looking forward to trying it. I have a Samsung Watch 4, no speaker on it. Don't care about that. I have my phone on me constantly when walking, hiking and have an arm sleeve to hold my phone when I run so controlling what music is played is enough for me. From the reviews I read and seen the accuracy of steps, HR and Blood Ox are close, remember these are not medical devices. The more expensive watches like to portray themselves as med devices but they are not.

Looks like they direct copied WearOS and Samsung's interface, but that is good for users. I see that Moto is coming out with a $99 watch similar to this. Hope to see that review.

I've been looking at a lot of reviews for the GTS2 mini. Looks pretty good. Especially being a better budget. I like the amount of workouts it has and there's a couple other things that I'm interested in. Compared to the GTS mini and this GTS3 what would you prefer?

The 3 is physically thinner in height and has a 1.75 inch display vs the 2 mini 1.55 in almost the exact same case. the 3 has a rotating crown, the 3 has the last gen Biotracker with skin temp, the 3 has a better screen res 390x450 vs 306x354, depending on how you use it, typical usage on the 3 battery life is 12 days, the 2 mini typical usage is 7 days. Some stats might show the 2 mini as having a better battery but that's minimal usage not typical/average. Neither have a speaker or music storage. For some reason the GTS 2 has a speaker and music storage but the GTS 3 doesn't. Its hard choosing a smartwatch. In most cases you get what you pay for. Its what features do you want, actually need, will need and which ones you don't care about. IMHO they should have a GTS 3 Pro with a Speaker and Music storage just like the old GTS 2 had, slap on a $229 price tag or something and I'll buy it.

@@Josh-hr5mc thanks for the comment Josh. I've never had a smart watch and I didn't need some features on the GTS2. My budget also wouldn't stretch that far for the 3. Never having a smartwatch before I chose the cheaper option in case I hated it. I've only been wearing the watch for 3 days ish but so far it's come in handy a few times. I was getting distracted by my phone. So I know I can put my phone away and if anything important comes through I'll see it on the watch rather than pick up my phome and then open games or apps.

stick with GTS 2 mini, these new releases are some kind of jokes, they removed pretty important features, GPS, memory, etc.. u can research it further if you want but i think go get the GTS 2 mini, it's definitely better

@@emeresbestres1 I preffer square one as watch can be a bit smaller. BTW one of the first smartwatches on the market were Pebble ... and they were square shaped. So technically Apple watch is the ripoff here :D But it's just a shape that was there before any smartwatch ever existed, so square = Apple watch sounds even more ridiculous.

Hi sir, I am from India and I am currently in a dilemma. Using Vivo X70 Pro (Dimensity 1200) but it is so worse in capturing my baby girls photo indoors. The pics turns up blur everytime, How is Samsung A52S 5G compared to the above? Planning on buying A52s seen ur review. Hope you can clear my doubt so that I can make a purchase decision. There is no sound coming via Alexa, it's ready only. Even though the watch has a speaker.

I have gtr 2 and i see not much difference between gtr2 and gtr 3 and gtr3 pro. Same. Just ui changes. I'll wait for gtr4 Secondly amazfit don't push updates to their previous flasgship models or any models after you start using them. So you are left with the options you already got with the watch nothing new

So Amazfit frickin downgraded the features from last year's models and are forcing us to the more expensive Pro version to even get all the features we had last year. Hmmm... I think I'm happy I went ahead and sprung for the Samsung watch 4 classic. I do have to say I miss Amazfit's battery life though... Thanks & cheers 🥂.

Avoid this watch since it is rapidly degrading into junk and instead invest in a Pixel Watch.

For what is essentially a smart fitness watch I doubt you're investing much You're paying more for better but the Pxel Watch will just join the junk heap like the rest after a few more versions come out. I'd say If you're looking in to investing in to a watch then look at a mechanical piece rather than a smart watch.
