Hi,in these big engines the Engineer frequently may check the compression pressure in each cylinder because if the compression pressure Is a bit low,this cylinder may fáil or Start out of Time.One interest thing Is observing the smoke going out of the escape, may be homogéneos AND continuos,if the smoke go out alternative,or irregular as i see in other videos some issues may be checked:1)injectors.:spray well the Fuel?if dont spray well the ignition may be bad AND With detonación. 2)Compression pressure:This Is the Main issue to a bad diesel run.this value may be high to start the engine.In this case check the rings AND all the Valves(induction AND exhaust) 3)Turnocharger:this device may be in optimal condition,With no leakages,AND With tha capacity to blow Air quickly from low diesel engine turns to Max turns(rpm) 4)Air filters:May be clean always. 5)Fuel:May be the most quality possible,checking no water pressence or microparticles. 6)injectors pump Some brands are available.Bosch Is very famouus.Check the output pressure in all the pies 7)Injectors common rail: in this case the injectors are pump too A big pressure pump send Fuel to the raíl,But the return Is open or closes ay the end of the rail.When the return of the Fuel to the tank Is closed,the engine give the maximum power. When the return Is totally opened,the engine stop.All the injectors have a spring that may be checked.All the springs may have the same "hardness"or elasticity.the other component:the needle who open the Fuel passage to the combustión chambear.This needla may clósed perfect 8) With 2strokes engines,the adventage Is better,But some care may be present.In this cases the chargers may be ALWAYS un perfect condiciones.Sometimes to start these engines an auxiliar compressed Air Is used until the charger may blow air

Here in India even such long trains get completely booked and of high demand. Because in India, travel by trains are really cheap and Indian Railways focus upon mass transportation rather than high speed.... Our tracks are designed to take very heavy axle loads (now 25 T), for both Goods and Passenger traffic...

It is a diesel electric locomotive, the gear mechanism is not like truck or bus. Here diesel engine turns the generator which produces electricity and that turns or moves the traction motors .

@@pradeepsharma_1962 That is well understood, but are you saying power output remains dead constant when it is put on load from idling, isn't there a slight drop in RPM of rotor and a drop in out put before the system recovers ? That delay could cause a slow start. Secondly, why there is so much thick black smoke coming out of funnel during hard acceleration...is it something to do with bad air fuel ratio , aren't ALCOs supercharged?

@@ateeqrahman4043 black smoke is due to lag in turbo, which causes rich burn... Once enough rpm of turbo is achieved the air quantity reaching the cylinder increases, so now full diesel is burnt

No gear box or crankshaft mechanism here like trucks.... the engine is just a electricity generator and the train is run using the electricity internally.
