I wore a winter coat etc. similar to your stylish set in early 50’s. That beaded glass lamp is so beautiful. I went to a large college with great sports teams. Went to the first football game my freshman year because well everyone in my dorm was going. I didn’t even last to the end of the game. Never went to another sports game, no interest. Rather get up at 4:30 am to go to a flea market.

Love your videos Scott!! I am 70 yrs old and had a similar wool coat, but in pink. But I am thinking that this green outfit is late 1940's - 1947-ish with the flared legs, wool color, and the look of the elastic. My mother had a muff in the shape of a bear - the head on the top and dangling arms and legs off the brown fur - circa 1920 when she was just a tot!! Do they say tot anymore for a little kid? Thank you for all the time you put into your videos and your fair pricing and info - you help get me through illness and tough times with diversion of your fun! I envy that lush fruit garland you had on the mantel! Ever consider giving us a little tour of your place? It looks so lovely! Thanks for being YOU! :)

Hey! LOVELY coat, hat, earmuffs, and muff! I'm guessing the early 1950s. The fact the stirrups are leather made me go earlier than I had thought originally. Didn’t know we were having a contest so I must come back and vote I first said 1960s but then when you showed the leather straps on the bottom of the pants and the fact that it’s all boiled wool makes me re think my answer and say 1940 s my sister and I had matching Rothschild coats in the 1960s with matching fur muffs so I am torn regardless it’s beautiful I am so glad you rescued it and then somebody who can bid on it who will really love it and preserve it maybe on a fashion doll once again thanks for sharing the video was awesome💕

You're never off topic. I've been collecting for years and wish those who are younger help to ensure this stuff survives. I heard that in the 50's Tiffany styled lamps were trashed as a matter of course due to being "out of fashion". You can never reproduce that kind of craftmanship. BTW, the Goodwill's in the Pacific Northwest rock. My house is full of items, including baccarat and murano millefiori paperweights as well as original art work and furniture. You never know what you're gonna find. I also found an original Mercury bronze that was originally a top a stoplight on 5th Ave. in New York done by Joseph Freelander at an antique store on the coast. I just love antiquing!

I agree it is fun to listen to Scott’s knowledge and I ❤️ Thriftin as well except sadly the Goodwill‘s in the Philadelphia suburbs are now being ridiculous with their pricing Pyrex which is my favorite to collect used to be so cheap in an expensive and I use it every day I bake with it I cook with it I mix a cake with it but I can’t afford the prices of Pyrexx now the Goodwill‘s in my area even have an online shop for what they consider expensive antiques so happy thrifting to you in the Pacific Northwest 😊

Your coffee is in a green (Medium Green? Harlequin cup and saucer by Homer Laughlin. The "Uncle Dennis" Collapsible Toy may have been made by E.W.T. Dennis & Sons Ltd., Scarborough and London. The listing I found was from Chiswick Auctions and was for a vintage boxed three room bungalow dolls house made by "Uncle Dennis`s Collapsible Toys by E.T.W. Dennis & Sons Ltd, Scarborough." I think the the winter outfit it from the 1940's, although style wise if could be the 1950's. I am leaning towards the 1940's, as it is 100% wool. Can't wait to see the dollhouse after you have worked on it!

As always, I thoroughly enjoyed today's video. You are always full of surprises! About the years of little girl's winter ensemble: It's the 1950s, because I remember wearing a similar ensemble in winter when I was a kid living in NY in the 1950s. I had a white rabbit fur muff and matching hat that covered my ears. I had a "good" wool coat and matching pants ("leggings") similar to the one in the video to wear to church and school. Coincidentally, just a few days ago I was telling a good friend about all the fuss I had to go through with putting on on all that outer clothing -- with zippers and stirrups on the pants, etc.-- to go to outside during cold weather and then taking it off afterwards. Now, regarding the century-old folding cardboard dollhouse: I have never seen anything like it before. I love the Blue Willow decorating theme for the dollhouse room, and thank you for pointing out all of the details. I have loved Blue Willow since I was a child starting when I was about six. It I received a set of children's real Blue Willow china dishes (four place settings with teapot, creamer and sugar bowl.) One of my favorite books as a child was "Blue Willow" by Doris Gates, and I read and re-read that book many times. I still love the Blue Willow china pattern. I wish I could send you some of our Southern California weather to warm you up. This week has been unseasonably warm in the 80s, and we are expecting to be in the 90s on Saturday. Hang in there -- Spring will be officially here in a month. 🌻💐🌺

Hi Scott, The style of the Metal Talon zipper was manufactured from the 1940’s through 1970’s. I’m going to date the set in the late 1940’s to early 1950’s. Since leopard print became a trend in the 1940’s, it probably took a little time for designers to add leopard embellishments to a child’s coat because was considered risqué to some to wear leopard print. The design of the snow pants. I wore snow pants in the 1960’s. They did not have the elastic stirrups. They had a elastic band at the bottom. Thank You for the lamp shade restoration a few videos back. It was really interesting to see the gold silk that was hidden in the lamp. The lamp came out beautifully.

In the original black and white Miracle On 34th Street the little girl wore a set almost identical to that one. I say late 40's.

I have a picture of my sister and I with Santa at Christmas 1954. I’m wearing a similar coat with matching leggings and my sister a woolen one piece snow suit. Not sure if it was new or a hand-me-down from my cousin who was born in the late 1940’s. People were more frugal - and a fine woolen coat would have been worn by several children in its lifetime. Love the green set.

1940s. Very nice fabric and the faux fur collar. The. Adult version could very well have had the real fur collar. Mom and daughter outfit, perhaps?

I'm thinking the snowsuit is from the late 1940's (very early 50's) only because I wore one similar to it....however we were too poor for 5th Avenue stuff...my little Mama was a great seamstress and made all my clothes, even the wool snowsuit. My was blue. Your cup and saucer reminded me of McKee, but I' m certain I am probably wrong on that~ Waving hello from a very wintry Michigan.

Love the stretch glass and doll house. The Fruit lamp is beautiful also. I would say that the child’s wool suit is from the late 1940’s.

Great video as always, I enjoy the comedic intros. The cup of coffee has great lines, especially the handles. I'm really here though to comment on the child's coat set...I will say 1946-48 because it reminds me of my favorite picture of my mom and her brothers. She is wearing a similar set, they all looked so fashionable just to go to the park. (The Czech fruit lamp is a whole other thing - amazing!)
