Yes, I agree - for 214,95 € it is a bargain… No, what do I say? It is a steal ;-)

Steal, yes that word comes to mind.

A good WDT tool like the Moonraker is around 500$, so im comparison, it's not that expensive.

You know they’ve just launched duomo the tamper, which does both the WDT and tamps. Thought this was going to be the first video on it! I reached out to Jeff at coffee z, he said a video of it in use is on its way but no date as such.

I’ll see if I can check it out, I did see they released that at the Specialty Coffee Expo

According to their site it ships 8th August. First one to have a review on KZfaq will get a load of hits! Then of course there will be back to back reviews by all the usual suspects over the following month! 😁

Would nice to see the actual extraction. Just because the puck looks nice does not mean that, underneath, all is well 🙂😋😁

Oh it’s beautiful 😏 Check out the E61 flow control video or the Flair 58 for some nice Duomo bottomless shots

Comparison to moonraker would be nice!

I believe people who unironically buy this would also buy an acaia scale and call anything cheaper trash

Do the second (tapping) and the third steps (pressing) invalidate the first step?
@LifestyleLab_ Жыл бұрын
Not at all. Once distributed with WDT, a tap will settle the grounds into any remaining air pockets. Tamping is then obviously required in any espresso workflow :)
@cliffcox76435 ай бұрын
Theres grounds on the walls of your basket. You need a better fitting tamper.
@LifestyleLab_5 ай бұрын
That tamper is precision fit, one that wasn’t would leave a ring of untamped grounds :) you’re just noticing dust because the video is closeup

Blind Shaker wins every time and they're about $30 on Amazon, paired with a Happy Tamper I found Espresso Nirvana, all my other tools are obsolete.

Even with a blind shaker, WDT is still a useful addition to the workflow from my testing
@Nevermindthrbrewmethod2 жыл бұрын
@@LifestyleLab_ My testing yielded very poor results with full WDT, I was puck raking when I first got the shaker but I stopped and it's made no noticeable difference. I'm at 100% efficacy since the switch across 4 different roasts, not a single bean has gone to waste.
@manwithaplan135 Жыл бұрын
No way you paid for a WDT tool that was like $206

Agree as to your sentiment. Weber has one that is $475. It’s gorgeous, but come on!

When it comes to stuff like this it's less about price : efficiency and it becomes more about it being neat. When you get this deep into coffee it becomes a hobby. Kinda like buying expensive art equipment or an expensive camera.

I’d say a LOT much Some good alternatives at far more reasonable price points from people like Normcore

Hmm I wonder if we could use some mechanical advantage to get the number of turns under 100000000
@LifestyleLab_ Жыл бұрын
Haha, I might have gone a little overboard here. 3-4 turns is plenty

There‘s a guy on Etsy that 3D printed one with planetary gears that fixes the problem of the slight divet in the middle that the Duomo spin type WDT tools have. It is quite a nice design
