Didn't do the anime justice! The anime is way better so I reccomend you start it

They give justice on live action. This was good adaptation though.

While it isn't perfect by any means, it's still a really solid adaptation that clearly had a lot of love put into it.

Definitely amazing. The strong spirit of one piece is there. Iñaki and the rest of the cast did so well and they worked so hard, they still do, I've been seeing their Instagram stories and posts that they have been going to trainings, maybe for season 2. It's not 1-1 so there's a lot of difference in anime and opla but they did justice to it. If you guys follow the director in Instagram? You'll see how much passion and hard work they put in this just to make OPLA. Anime has more informations of course that's why many people thinks it's better. I do too but I appreciate the OPLA and made non-watchers starting to watch the show. You guys are the target audiences of this show after all, those who haven't seen One piece yet. Like I said, it's not 1-1 so expect some changes. If ever you guys start watching the anime, you’ll notice the changes, ODA approves to everything so it's all good. It's his masterpiece after all, he can do everything he wants. And I think he just wants to improve and enhance some things that he can't do anymore in anime but instead he puts in LA. They all did so well🙌 Great job to all people who's involved in making this amazing LA.

It is manga chapter ~95 though. Plus some cover stories which were printed during alabasta and some scenes from after water seven.

It's not going to take them as much to consolidate. Every impactful fight in the anime or manga seems to take up dozens of episodes and chapters there is so much dramatic pausing. I have been rewatching the anime and it only takes me like 12-15 minutes to watch a 24 minute episode. I don't need to watch Luffy heavy breath after a big hit from katakuri for 30 seconds then do it again 1 minute later. I get it... he's getting tired and he's thinking. I skip skip skip. The story is always hella good but there is so much pausing and drawn out. Honestly they could cover all the main arcs of the story with 64 1 hour episodes and get past WANO. Think about it every major fight has sooo much pausing and exposition that just isn't going to be necessary in live action. Plus lots of joking useless scenes. There are so many joke scenes in One Piece that you can still keep 50% of them in and it would take away 150 episodes of content lol. It's not as long as people think.

Garp is like the guy who could defeat all of the Arlong pirates, the strawhats, and evaporate Arlong Park with a single punch and not break a sweat

I'm pretty sure that the authors wont apply to Alvida what's in the anime, cause it can be considered body shaming. I mean, in the manga which is much more funny and looney, it's ok, but in the live action...

Correction: Genzo started wearing the pinwheel when baby Nami cried because of his scary face. The Arlong pirates only showed up when Nami was 10, so many years later.

@@mikaeru2079 huh, I knew it was Nami but I was certain it was because of the scars. My timeline doesn't add up there though, and I suppose after the fishmen attacked kids would probably be more scared of them than Genzo.

@@DNeonLamp It's definitely when Nami is a baby. She is crying and Bell-mère comments to Genzo that he looks so stern he's scaring her. So, Genzo puts on the pinwheel and Bell-mère comments that she doesn't think it will work, and Nami immediately starts laughing instead of crying, so Genzo never takes it off, even during all the years he has to pretend to hate Nami. It's basically a symbol of his love for Nami. One of the things they changed that I didn't particularly care for was the removal of that plot point about the town knowing the secret. I suppose it makes Nami's struggle that much more heroic if she did it completely alone, but her sister sharing the secret, and the townspeople basically willingly putting themselves on the line to keep that secret made them all more heroic in my eyes. Taking that away kind of robbed the town of something special.

Yeah, Oda usually only keeps improving his writing as story keeps going, and complexity of the world only allows for more fun and interesting arcs, so that's natural.

more than that technically - I think we didn't find out about fishmen being enslaved by humans until much later in the show, so we got no backstory to Arlong's hatred of humans. How many seasons do you think it's going to be before we meet Sanji's biological family (not that I want to and not that Sanji wants to see them again).

Fr. I watched OPLA first and didn't really that enjoyed the first 45 ep in anime maybe bec i get used to the fast phase in LA but when they went to LogueTown it gets more exciting

Tbh its only an issue if you notice the luffy/usopp actor age being they are youngest. The rest of the strawhats are meant to be older

It certainly makes sense for Helmeppo to question Luffy being a “ruthless killer” since he has interacted with him and Zoro twice and came out of it alive both times. Luffy being a killer sounds very wrong and definitely suspicious.

I think the structure of Zoro's story really made it feel weak, even though the message is strong. I can't remember how they did it in the anime, but regardless, there should've been more of a build up to Kuina's reveal about her feelings. The way they did it, Kuina suddenly being so vulnerable and confiding in Zoro about such a deep aspect of her character felt random and unnatural. Especially since we don't get to see much of a relationship between her and him. It comes across like a PSA from a 90's sitcom more than an organic conversation between two people. They should've spent more time building the relationship between the two and less on her funeral and his inheritance of her sword, which is what it seems like they were going for - to mirror Luffy's inheritance of Shanks' hat. But what they didn't consider is without the emotional weight of Kuina and Zoro's relationship and promise, his inheritance feels shallow, or at least not nearly as strong as Luffy's.

I dunno I feel the character robbed the most is Usopp. His character and story has so much quiet growth and moments that are either completely missing or robbed of significance through how its shown. Like having Kuro just be attacking the mansion instead of the whole village robs him of trying to protect the people who constantly attack him. Him not having his friends robs him of prioritizing their lives over their opinions of him. Hell he's the first Straw Hat to take a swing at Arlong in the anime. When he's terrified but watching Arlong choke the life out of the Pinwheel guy and threatening to kill any villager who interferes he shoots him in the face and draws his attention. And then with the Big lipped fish he successfully cowards his way out of the fight but then thinks about how the crew is fighting and what Nami had suffered through all these years and in shame jumps up and shouts the fight isn't over yet.

@@demonseed360 They didn't really have much of a relationship shown in the manga tho, the only important aspect is the competitive one at any rate. The only reason Kuina *exists* is as a catalyst. This is from a time when the author wasn't thinking too much of the future.

@@pistolero9836 Right, that's why I said regardless. It'd make for a more compelling backstory if they had a stronger relationship. This is one of the times when it makes sense to build on the original, especially with Oda being on the team. He's no longer an amateur writer. It doesn't have to be romantic or anything like that. It doesn't even have to be long. Just give the audience an idea that these 2 have some semblance of a relationship or history with each other so her words have more weight and don't sound like she's reading off a teleprompter. "That's how it was in the manga" is not a good excuse for poor writing. And this is coming from someone who adores One Piece. I mean, she died falling down the stairs in the manga, right? Why did they leave that out of the live action show if the ultimate goal is to be 1/1 with the original?

Thats only for the peoples whos finished watching until Wano. If they react to it, they wont know whats happening... Like us in every second we remember the story behind those pictures so it hits different to the viewers.

Hachi was apparently in episode 7. He was credited As the Fishman that Nami was playing poker with. But I think even if they were to ignore that version of hachi, they can introduce him in log Town😮
